IM BACK!

Hey everyone, im back after a few months away. Youll be seeing me around a lot more these days because ive pretty much given up drums and im now learning guitar - a real instrument :p

So, if I dont come back to D&P again, I hope you all become successful in what you do and I hope that your drumming continues.

'Nuff Love

Ollie

Its already gone.

They said it couldnt compete with the free music channels.

Janeway 07-28-2006 07:05 AM

Still up.

I got Alanis Morissette's Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie in the 6th grade.
I listen to it all the time, but as I'm listening to it now, I'm reading the lyrics along with the songs. She writes amazing lyrics, especially on this album.
Thank You has always been one of my favorite songs, but I never got the lyrics.

How about getting off of these antibiotics
How about stopping eating when I'm filled up
How about them transparent dangling carrots
How about that ever elusive kudo

Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence

How about me not blaming you for everything
How about me enjoying the moment for once
How about how good it feels to finally forgive you
How about grieving it all one at a time

Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence

The moment I let go of it was
The moment I got more than I could handle
The moment I jumped off of it was
The moment I touched down

How about no longer being masochistic
How about remembering your divinity
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out
How about not equating death with stopping

Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you thank you silence

And I just got them now. It's amazing. =/

Or maybe I'm just really tired.

Just bought the Pirates of the Carribean 2 soundtrack, it's absolutely fan-fuckin-tastic. Difficult to air drum to though.

You're difficult to air drum to.

:-p

Janeway 07-28-2006 11:29 AM

I've had a lovely, sleepless morning.
I tuned my djembe, snapped my thumb in the tuner, and I've got a lovely bruise under my nail, but an even lovlier high pitched djembe. Then I watched all of my favorite scenes from Tipping The Velvet, even though they didn't include the Florence bit where she asks Nan if she'd like it inside.
I made yucky soup that I threw out, and I downloaded 175 Buddhist e-books, and a Ravi Shankar compilation.

Josiah 07-28-2006 11:44 AM

...it's a wonder. Buddhism, and yet you complain more then anyone I've ever seen. Do you actually read those books? Or do you just say that stuff in an attempt to look cool?

Jezen 07-28-2006 11:59 AM

Latter, not former.

Janeway 07-28-2006 12:08 PM

I haven't read the books yet because I just downloaded them.
Hmm...

And did I say I followed Buddhism?
No.

I probably never will, either. I'm perfectly content sitting here complaining.

Cocaberry 07-28-2006 12:35 PM
I probably never will, either. I'm perfectly content sitting here complaining.
Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you should get off your ass and fix your problems instead of complaining about them?

You suck at drums? Practice.
You hate your mom? Get a job and raise enough money to move out.
You're bleeding everywhere? Shove a tampon in.
You're double kick pedal is clicking and you can't fix it? Get a job to raise the money to buy a newer, better pedal.
You hate your pro sonix hats? Get a job to raise money to buy professional hats.

Notice the trend? Most of your problems can be solved if you...

GET OFF YOUR ASS AND GET A JOB.

If you do that then you won't be on here complaining all the time, you'll be out making money. Then you and the rest of the forum will be happy.

trysthedrummer 07-28-2006 12:37 PM

What's up with your abusiveness lately Coca?

Cocaberry 07-28-2006 01:14 PM

No, because as long as I'm at home my parents are helping me pay for college.

Atleast I don't go around trying to act like the voice of reason to get the respect of others.

Respect (or lack there of) on internet forums doesn't really mean shit. I've never lost any sleep because the people on this forum hate me. It doesn't phase me because I don't care.

Pleaseme 07-28-2006 02:34 PM

Does anyone know the tune 'Time' by Satriani? Such a great groove I think, and so simple. I love it.

trysthedrummer 07-28-2006 02:41 PM

Yeah, that's ace is that track, well most of Crystal Planet's tracks are brilliant.

Have you got his new album Super Collosal? It's pretty frikkin good.

Janeway 07-28-2006 04:04 PM

COCA! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

I don't need a job! Know why? Because my parents make buttloads of money, and they can support me until I'm 35! I am a lazy bastard!!!!
Yes, it makes me immature. Yes, it means I'm worthless.
But guess what? I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!
I'm SEVENTEEN! I don't have to join the real world, and I'm not going to. I see absolutely nothing wrong with sitting my my fat ass bitching about every little thing that comes down the line because that makes me happy! I'm totally content with my life at the moment, and I'm going to make no moves to change it.
Sick of my complaining? Get over it.
I could give a shit.

I think maybe it's time you pulled your little dick out of the toaster and woke the fuck up. It's the internet. For all you know, I could be a 56 year old child molestor with genital warts and an appetite for licking black pudding out of boys sweet little assholes just lying out of my teeth. My real life has absolutely NO effect on you, so let it the fuck alone.

My parents solve all of my quaint little adolescent problems. Those new $300 high hats? Mommy is going to buy me them for my birthday. That double pedal? Daddy will fix it for me. My sucking at drums? My parents will pay for a better teacher.
See, I'm a spoiled little fucker. I haven't ever suffered. My life has been absolutely easy, and I'm not going to sit here and act like papa shoved his moldy cock up my ass when I was a kid and I'm an absolute wreck. So, unless by some miraculous feat and my entire family is wiped off the face of the earth, I'm not going to change. I'm going to continue being whiny old Pespi, annoying and pointless as ever.
I'm not going to go away. I'm not going to change the way I post.
So step the fuck off.

You somehow think you're better than me because you act like a pompous little asswipe all the time. You just sit there on your high horse complaining about MY problems in MY life that's thousands of miles away from you. I've said this before. Reading is entirely selective. You know my name.
Be a big boy and scroll past my posts. Ignore them. It's that easy.
Infact, a lot of people on these forums do it.
You just can't resist the urge to be Josiah's little protege and attempt to rip my ass. It's been done before, and it's old. And contrary to popular belief, I don't give a shit about what some turgid little faggot thinks of me.
So once again,
FUCK OFF!

ludvista29 07-28-2006 04:19 PM

your right coca is starting get annoying!

crazyguy832 07-28-2006 05:15 PM

Hey! An argument! Oh boy, these are fun!

Antigone... my parents make a decent amount of money. Enough that they're going to pay for my university education all the way to phD if I want to (chances are I'm goign to at least go to masters). Does that mean I'm lazy and not going to try and get a job? Hells no. You have no excuse for sitting around doing nothing, okay?

I get allowance every month, sure, but I goddamn earn it! We have two high needs foster kids and I put in at least a good hour's worth of work a night (averaged over the month, I get around $2/hour). Not only that, but I have to pay for my own drum lessons. I think the only things my parents have EVER payed for drum-wise was a pair of sticks and Stick Control. Everything else I've bought myself. My Xbox 360 for Christmas? I chipped in $300. 90% of my games I pay for.

The point is... get off your lazy ***.

Has it ever occured to you that being immature and disrespectful on an internet forum also doesn't effect anyone, and therefore is meaningless and a waste of your time?

I will bet anyone money that your parents won't support you till your 35. All people want to retire sometime and you're parents are no different.
I don't have to join the real world, and I'm not going to.
So you plan to live in fantasy land for the rest of your life? You plan on living in your room reading your romance novels and sipping tea till your 50?

Wake up. You're going to have to make it on your own someday even though you don't think so. Your parents aren't going to be around forever, and neither is their money.
I'm totally content with my life at the moment, and I'm going to make no moves to change it.
That's pretty sad. You are content with being a disturbed, deranged little lesbian? HAHA.

Anybody can be better than what they already are. You can always make more money, get more education, learn more, do more, etc...

If you don't want to make any changes in your life you might as well kill yourself because a big part of life is making and accepting changes.
You somehow think you're better than me
I don't just think, I KNOW I'm better than you.

I earn my way in life. I have earned every penny to buy every single part on my kit. I've bought my own car and paid for it in full. I pay for nearly everything I do and so do lot's of other people on here and out in the real world.

I actually get off the computer and practice on the pad and on the kit. You should think about doing the same because there is no way you can better yourself by complaining on here.

Look, personnally I don't care if you die. Do what you want. In the long run you're going to have to make some changes or accept some changes and I just hope you're prepared for when the time comes because don't think it won't.

Time 07-28-2006 07:33 PM

maybe this isnt the best time to ask questions, but does anyone have an opinion on Jazz Drummers Workshop by John Riley or Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer: Coordination as applied to jazz and bebop by Jim Chapin? Or what would be some other useful texts to get familiar with jazz drumming?

Hey Coca, I'm just wondering...What makes you think you have the right to judge other people? You don't know anyone on this forum. Nothing in the world gives you the right to judge another person.

Also, try not to be such a bigot. Using the word 'lesbian' as an insult just makes you look archaic.

fishbulb 07-28-2006 10:05 PM
I actually get off the computer and practice on the pad
What? Practice on the pad? That's not drumming. That's pad work. You should leave and find a pad work forum because that isn't drumming. Don't be imitating real drummers with your pad work. Leave. This is a drumming community not a pad work community. Leave. Get a pad work forum. People will like you there. Since pad work isn't drumming. Drumming involves hitting ****. Hitting **** on the drumkit. Pad work is one **** so you don't hit a lot of hsit you hit one **** and it's not the same as drumming it's pad work. Pad work isn't the same as drumming. Go find a padwork community.

Cocaberry 07-28-2006 10:12 PM
