so, i've always liked them but never really got into listening to them until very recently, but Oasis is a great band.

anyone else likes Oasis, or am i alone on this one?

Hey guys. Im thinking about starting session work with local bands. What skills would be crucial to do this?

ok you guys , i just got hired on as a lessons teacher at a local music store , my friend who knows very little of bass hears of this and thinks to himself its easy and hes going to do it to make money. heres some clips of our convo

at this point i showed this to havic and he says just let him try and teach without any knowledge, because it will motivate him to learn. then this happened

So what do i do? i fear for the playing abilities of the people hes going to "Teach" , should i try and steal his students away and make sure they geta good base of technique before he tries to make them bad?

you shouldn't let someone try to teach people when they don't know what they're teaching.
i know what it's like to have bad teachers (not music teachers as i haven't taken lessons yet) but there is nothing worse than a teacher that sucks at teaching.

so what do you reccomend

That mars volta CD kicks ***.
The spanish one is really great, but the spanish singing throws it off a bit for me because I don't learn spanish in school which makes it foreign so like...my brain focuses on it or something? :p But the thirty min song is awesome. So is cygnus. Great CD all round :p
I think they do a little but to much of the ambient noise thing though.

Hows he gonna get students. Once he gets them hows he gonna keep em?
If he's your friend then don't steal his students :p

that part...i just don't know what to say, if he doesn't know anything, how can he teach?

hmm, tell him if he is gonna try and teach to get off his [color=white]as[/color]s and learn the stuff himself, and if he doesn't...sabotage him in secret, make sure he doesn't know what you've done to make sure people don't go to him.

there's nothing worse than a bad teacher.

but if a friend if going to be a jackass in the first place, a friend shouldn't just let that other friend of theirs do that.

because his friend is basically trying to steal possible students, except he doesn't know how to teach them.

I used to like oasis. But the lead singer is just such a dic[size=2]k[/size]. I hate him enough that I can't listen to the band as awhole even anymore :p

heh... did the same thing, except I was looking for basses for sale on eBay and on talkbass. I almost bought one of those bass clef sweaters, but MX reloaded. :)
