I just don't have in it in me to invest as much mentally in a person as I should anymore, especially at this age when everyone seems to have other primary goals. Careers, etc.

To me it does, yes, but in modern day American I don't think I can say that much. Everyone's too bent on 'the next big thing' to sit down and appreciate what you have and the people you have, and that's my theory as to why most women can't commit to anything past a one night stand. Physical intimacy, to me, supports the foundation for a much stronger emotional connection, but idk - nowadays it's getting harder to distinguish pure lust from love, so who knows?

last week or w/e when she was thinking about breaking up with me because I don't look scene enough for her and she said she's waiting for someone better than me, further illustrating your point that people get bored easily

I trust 7 people completely coming up with them off the top of my head, could probably trust about as many more if I needed to
