I hate that kind of stuff. If they require registration to be done via internet, they should at least make sure it works.

I tried to find some info about a course in Statistics, but the Department of Statistics has got the most confusing site I've ever had the pleasure of visiting.

Today i had my "Night driving lesson" and it was great :D
At first the one girl drove and there were some situations on the highway while i thought: "thats it, you're dead"... horrible. Peter, the night driving lesson is always with one or two persons more, cause you take the highway in one direction and then you drive back on the highway too. the night lessons are longer and therefore you see other persons driving (and see their mistakes!) and afterwards you drive back;
well, i drove very good; even my teacher said, that it was nice to drive with me on the highway. i only once drove too fast, cause i haven't seen the speed-change-sign ^^

Yesterday was sick!!!!
First of all i made my theory exam and i had only one wrong question out of 55.
Afterwards i had my driving lesson and we first drove on the highway - first of all up to 80km/h, then 100km/h and in the end i was able to drive those 130km/h.
Suddenly the highway got smaller and you had to drive only 80km/h; i made a lane change, because of some truck, drive ahead and from behind i saw the police... after 5 seconds the overhauled us and stayed in front of us and showed us that we have to stop! - At the highway!!! so we did at the emergency lane.
My driving teacher was very confused - me too, cause its a fukking driving lesson car.

the reasons:
1) why did we made some lane changes why there was no reason? wtf? maybe cause i have to learn it and you call that "lane change lesson"?
2) we made a lane change with 70km/h - too slow -> can't be cause i drove 100km/h, so he told us that our tachometer is fuked up.
3) we drove 70km/h instead of 80km/h --- the biggest LOL ever; everyone drives 90-100km/h instead of 80km/h, but i got stopped for being 10km/h too slow

in the end they even saw that one of our wheels was damaged... so we had to change it and afterwards i had to get back at the highway on the emergency car... this was sooo sick.

police
stopping a driving lesson car...

in addition we could only drive with 80km/h cause the wheel we changed, couldn't get faster (the wheel was limited to 80km/h); so it took us over 1,5h to get back to vienna, with some fukking 50km/h on some stupid streets....
oh damn... driving theory lesson?

Yep, I had my 16th lesson today.
My driver said I was doing well and that I should do the theory, then he would ask for a periodical exam. I don't know if you also have this. You can choose to have this and you already do an exam where the examinator drives with you and judges your driving skill. You can also already do special things (like parkng in reverse, turn reverse, cross on the road) and then you don't have to do it on your real exam.

So I hope next month or so, I'll have my license. :D

How are you doing?

Indeed, after 15 minutes the site finally responded and redirected me to the bank site.
Rah, oh well, atleast I made my reservation.

Kacper:
Wow at your police story.

Because they want good drivers on the road as opposed to stupid *** american drivers.

It doesn't; it just takes longer to master.
How does that help people drive better? Not being argumentative, just curious.
It gives you more possibilities, you can use the engine to the fullest possibility wise and it's less fuel consuming.

But it does take some extra effort (and thus extra lessons) to drive manual.

well, its not the same as in austria:
1) you have to go to an doctor and check yourself
2) first aid licence
3) etc.
4) theory lesson
5) driving lesson
6) theory exam (just everything beginning with signs, till how fast you can drive, situations, cross, engines, etc. -> you get a CD with about 15 chapters with about 1500 questions in sum; at the exam you get random 55questions)
7) driving exam with an external examinator, your teacher and you (of course)

@Dimmu: we have 3 "types" of streets
city: 30-50km/h
free road or land road: up to 100km/h
autobahn (highway) 130km/h

well, there are several undercategories, but that three are the most important ones.

here you have to read you theory then take a written test. if you pass they give you your learners or Ls then you have to complete 120 hours of driving, holding the license for a minimum of 6 months. at the end of the time you take a driving test and you get your probationary 1s or Red Ps have those for a year, then take a hazards awareness test and graduate to green Ps for two years then you get your full license after another theory test.

Learners are limited to 80k/h, red Ps are limited to 90k/h and greens are limited to 100k/h.

so here it takes over 3 years to get your full license

Nostalgia 02-21-2008 04:01 PM

You guys have complex driving courses. I just went to a driver's education program for a month, scored at least an 80% on all my papers, passed a written test, and now am taking my drive today.

We have almost the same stuff as in Austria, but you don't actually need to take any lessons, just as long as you pass the exam. However, we do have an extra test to learn how to drive on slippery and icey roads.

big80smullet 02-21-2008 04:11 PM

yeah lessons are not required here but you have to log all your driving minutes in a book to be presented to the driving test dude
You guys have complex driving courses. I just went to a driver's education program for a month, scored at least an 80% on all my papers, passed a written test, and now am taking my drive today.
this is why american drivers are pretty terrible tbh. but making the test harder to keep retards of the road would be infringing on your rights or something i guess

Tyr 02-21-2008 04:12 PM

We don't need that either, but most take at least some lessons anyway. I mostly just drove with my parents and took five lessons, I think.

big80smullet 02-21-2008 04:13 PM
