If the dylan album is available for download and is not m4a/mp4 Ill take it.
Echoes4258@comcast.net

We need to have a better method of sharing music now that the links are gone. Posting our Emails every time somethigns available is a bit of a hassle...especially when theres more then one thing for download at a time. tends to be confusing.
Yea we actually got a huge list together and just send the album links to everyone on there. Once Jacaranda finds it, we'll add your email to the list.

Distant Echoes 09-17-2005 07:41 PM

awsome list. I gotta find out how to send messages to more then one person with comcast though...i never have. Sopposedly its confusing.

i uploaded the yes album earlier for some spontanious reason. Anybody want that? Id recommend it for anybody even slightly into prog rock, or considering it.

There's the big list of people, including you.

27 People so we might have to cut down on people because of the 25 download limit if I'm correct. (I'm talking about maybe if like 4-5 people want to get on it)
Out of every album sent, lots of people have already had it. For instance, I have Morrison Hotel, Pizza Tapes and Wired before they were sent :)

PinkFreud 09-17-2005 07:44 PM

i think it was schymas idea. but, i get to lead it because im the one who was uploading all the bootlegs. haha.

magicbus 09-17-2005 07:45 PM
27 People so we might have to cut down on people because of the 25 download limit if I'm correct. (I'm talking about maybe if like 4-5 people want to get on it)
Yea there have been a few albums that I already owned, so I just didn't click the YSI links. I recommend others do the same so the download limit isn't reached before other people who want it can download.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-17-2005 07:47 PM

what we should do is have one person sendthe ile to another and have them download it/upload it again and have them split the lsit up t sendit,it might make things conusing though

Distant Echoes 09-17-2005 07:48 PM

So how exactly does it work...do i gotta keep a copy of the list so whoever wants something can each get it? I'm not 100% on this yet.

n00bish....

Walrus Gumboot 09-17-2005 07:48 PM
Out of every album sent, lots of people have already had it. For instance, I have Morrison Hotel, Pizza Tapes and Wired before they were sent :)
I thought about this, and I decided that first come first serve would be better than just plain knocking people off the list

/this has been a message from your founder

EDIT: If anyone uploads an album they send it to everyone. Likewise, if you upload one, you send it to everyone
It's like having the YSI threads but a little better in the sense where it is the CR genre, we all know each other, and we don't have to keep searching through various threads trying to find stuff we want. I still miss the YSI threads, though

Jacaranda 09-17-2005 07:50 PM

I was just talking about if like 4-5 more people join, mostly for Bootlegs which most people don't have and really like but that is something to worry bout for the future.

I ABC'ed the list for no reason... But "J's" have the most CR names.

Yea, that's easiest. Plus, 5 or so people will already have the album. I'm thinking about asking my parents for a keyboard for my birthday, any suggestions for which brands to look it?

bball_1523 09-17-2005 07:51 PM

do you guys know of any songs that sound similar to "the doors - light my fire" ? I really like the chord progressions with the keyboard in that song.

Every Doors songs have keyboard in 'em(most). Look into some of their albums.

Jacaranda 09-17-2005 07:54 PM

I always though of Born To Be Wild sorta like a Doors song it sounds like it with the Keyboards and such.

Another song with great Keyboards is House of the Rising Sun.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-17-2005 07:54 PM

I'll give you it just because you hooked us up with such fantastic bootlegs. :)

IMO ELP and Yes pwn keyboards in general

I have "Birth of the Dead" where the organ Pig uses sounds like the Door's. It's interesting

JonG 09-17-2005 07:59 PM

Try Roundabout.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-17-2005 08:05 PM

So i went to a local fair near me today(terryville faire)and there was this tent called the traders den so i went in,i walked out with 7 posters and a couple boxes of insents

i got

Jim Morrison getting arrested on stage in New Haven,CT
Jim Morrison's mugshot photo of him in the police station in New Haven,CT
Jim Morrison on the cover o Rolling Stone after he died
Jim Morrison ater he died,it says Age 27, Last Photo Taken Beore His Death
Pink Floyd in the Barret era
Frank Zappa's close up face picture
and Jerry Garcia with the dancing skeltons around him

(i think i like Morrison a little too much)

Seafroggys 09-17-2005 08:05 PM

Speaking of keyboards and chord progressions, I downloaded the guitar tabs for We're Not Gonna Take it by The Who, and put the chords in Cakewalk and set the instrument to be this really synthy organ. It sounds SOOOOO **** nice and cool. I'm thinking of rearranging it or something, I love the chord progression and I can do so much with it.

Jacaranda 09-17-2005 08:08 PM
Yes pwn in general
Fix'd?

I love Close to the Edge the CD 'And You & I' is my favorite song from it other then 'Close to the Edge'...

Morrison is not really good looking when he died he was really fat...

I'm assuming you're talking about the "lisning to you, I get the music..." part? That would be so awsome

Welcometothemachine: The Frank Zappa one sounds creepy :p

Jacaranda- I love Wakeman's amazing baroque solos, I forget the name of it, but one of the tracks on"Yesterdays" has such an incredible one

JonG 09-17-2005 08:10 PM

If I had a keyboard I'd learn Baba O'Riley. Such a great intro.

Isn't that keyboard?

Or am I an idiot.

You think that would be scary? I'd love to have a poster of "Apostrophe (')" album on my wall.

Not so much as a Hot Rats one

Yeah, it's like a delayed guitar. It comes in, then out, then in.

Incredibly cool.

Lunch 09-17-2005 08:14 PM

It's like a synth/keyboard. I don't really know.

magicbus 09-17-2005 08:15 PM

Yea its a synth. The same kind that Pink Floyd used to make "On The Run". The same kind that I want to buy but can't find anywhere :(

JonG 09-17-2005 08:19 PM
Yea its a synth. The same kind that Pink Floyd used to make "On The Run". The same kind that I want to buy but can't find anywhere :(
I loooove the synth in that song.

Not to mention the vocals.

Distant Echoes 09-17-2005 08:21 PM

I wanted to get a keyboard a while ago...didnt stick thru with it.
I listened to Quadrophenia a few days ago and wanted one again. Everybody in the other forums are suggesting keyboards over $600, i just dont wanna spend that much.

Any Colour You Like is were it at. The Keyboards and Guitar blend so well.

JonG 09-17-2005 08:22 PM

I wouldn't mind a keyboard either. Would be really fun to learn.

Lunch 09-17-2005 08:24 PM

I really dig the keyboards at the begining of Love, Reign O'er Me. Slow and simple, but very emotional.

jpj 09-17-2005 08:28 PM

Gah, why do I always miss the things I want to reply to? :upset:

/thinks about something CR related

That Dead DVD from '89 that I thought was gonna suck, was actually really good. They play Terrapin Station and All Along the Watchtower, which is cool

I love how the Dead can cover whatever song they want to and make it cool.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-17-2005 08:34 PM

Yeah i always loved it when the dead covered Hey Jude and Dear Mr. Fantasy

Does anyone know who wrote'She Has Funny Cars'?

i have it on my Allman Brothers Band box set and on my Jefferson Airplane cd

I think that is Jefferson Airplane on Surrealistic Pillow.

Lunch 09-17-2005 08:38 PM

It was originally on Surrealistic Pillow. At least, that's my best guess. It doesn't sound like something that was written by a band before them.

Which reminds me, Surrealistic Pillow is an amazing album.

jpj 09-17-2005 08:48 PM
The whole thing, with the strings and the chorus and everything?
I think Brent Mydland may have done used a string effect on his keyboard for it, I can't remember.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-17-2005 08:53 PM
Which reminds me, Surrealistic Pillow is an amazing album.
I don't get what all the fuss is about with the Jefferson Airplane. They are soooo boring and non-trippy. (why is it called psychedelic?) It's not that it's not trippy either. I just think they're flat out boring and I'd offer to listin to Surrastic Pillow when I toke up tonight but it's so boring I'd probablly fall asleep.

I really love a few songs off of it, like White Rabbit especially. Actually, I probably only listen to it because I wish I could sing like Grace Slick
