It's mostly a documentary about the St. Anger recording sessions with a few other little things like getting Rob and all that stuff

I thought it was great how Kirk tripped right before dirty window. That was about as bad as James forgetting the lyrics to the live paris version of RTL on the SKOM soundtrack cd.
Yeah thats quality.

"Chill out, it's just rehersal.", "Yeah I know. I'm all excited and shit"

And James forgeting the lyrics. It so corny when he goes into the chorus again. "I forgot the fucking words.......Flash before my eyes, now its time to die. There they are!"

Thor 01-01-2006 12:34 PM
Yea that's a pretty good tab

Come back MX

How's everyone's new years? For Christmas I got Reload and the Unamed Feeling EP
That's good that you recieved new Metallica stuff, but I was rather dissapointed with ReLoad.

I love that bit.

He also forgets the words on the St. Anger rehesal.

On the "I need to set my anger free!". The first time round his brain goes to mush, he just goes "And I want my anger na-mae-lee"

I've never noticed that. I think I'm gonna find my St Anger tonigt and watch the DVD.

Ladyshredder126 01-01-2006 08:02 PM

i have fade to black live with a wah on the solo
it sounds sweet but definitly better without

Ugh, the last thing Kirk needs is more wah. He should have all of his wah pedals taken away from him.

His wah pedal is an extension of his personality, and he said that they would have to chop off his legs to stop him from using it.
Ugh, the last thing Kirk needs is more wah. He should have all of his wah pedals taken away from him.
And he needs to have the back of his had slapped and told, "NO!"

I like to rework some of my songs too, but I know when not to overdo it.

Grimm 01-01-2006 08:47 PM

If kirk stopped using his wah pedal, his solos wouldn't be the same.they'd be **** or they just wouldn't be kirk solos.we'd all be like "damn...it just ain't right..."

lightningmetal666 01-01-2006 08:51 PM

No, I'm not saying to stop using wah, just to keep it in moderation.

Maybe if he did cooler stuff with it than to just use it as a filter, that might help.

Grimm 01-01-2006 09:00 PM

Good point.

A bit away from the subject, has anyone heard of a band called Apocalyptica?
They had this album of entirely metallica covers on calssical instruments.and all the other albums had at least two metallica covers. I was gonna pick it up but i didn't want to miss out on Aerosmith:Gold

I don't mind them, nothing like the real thing though.

Apocalyptica was great, but only when they made covers.

Grimm 01-01-2006 09:15 PM

I suppose they're alright.i only heard one of their metallica covers which was the unforgiven but that was so long ago i can't remember it.i think they also cover other bands like sepultura.i'll have to download a few of their songs.

Well if you like 'tallica covers, check out the punk tribute to metallica. The cover that Agent Orange did of SnD is just  .

i love apocalyptica's original stuff.
it's cool cuz their covers are split up like...1 cello plays the vocal line, another plays the lead guitar stuff, and another plays the rhythm...

i think kirk should experiment more. his playing style is already pretty limited to warp-speed pentatonic box patterns. he could use something other than wah live. just my opinion, because sometimes it just sounds...so bad :upset:

mr black 01-01-2006 09:55 PM

Read the MOP Guitar World. It has a interview where Kirk says somnething
to the effect of "I'm taking Jazz Lessons to improve my chops"

That'd be cool. I mean Chris Poland and Alex Skolnick were pretty big fans of Jazz. And they were some legendary leads guitarists. Skolnick more so of course.

NP: Dark Tranquility - Ex Nihilo

Man I got to listen to them both in Lamb of Gods Ashes of the Wake and they fu*kin' rocked!!!

If kirk could learn to play like that, and lars stopped being a dick, metallica would own once again.

Chris Poland, Alex Skolnick, and of course Willie Adler and Mark Morton.
My fav. song by them so far. That and 11th hour.

Any ways, does anyone know what the name of metallica's new album is gonna be?

Not that I know of. But according to Lars, there's going to be lots of violins playing, though I think he was joking. And Kirk said, "Actually, this is more like Jurassic metal."
So maybe it'll be more like older Metallica.

Please tell me that they're not going to try and do neoclassical sh*t. :(

Sorry but the whole jurassic comment mixed with the violin one has lead me to believe that.

Grimm 01-02-2006 12:51 AM

I recently found a metallica song on my downloading program called vampira's sorrow.it says that its a demo for the new album.its instrumental and the quality is poor.I dunno what to make of it.
