Oh sure, make me look a prick why don't you.....
.....I can do it well enough myself thanks :)

Anyway, in my defence I was pushed, I swear...

Got a little tipsy last night and fell of a sofa, immediate instinct is to put your arm out to break the fall, I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
Lets just say I wish I'd had more to drink before I did it.

Six Foot Revolver 04-24-2005 03:25 AM
So...since it's approaching summer, this means concert season is coming up. I was thinking of making an Official concert thread, where the first post would have a list of bands and links to the dates, and the other posts could be reviews. THis would require a bit of mod work as posts listing new tours would be deleted once they were added, but before I ask it in suggestions, do you guys think it'd be a good idea/work?
I think it is a very good idea but unfortunately I don't think it would work :(

I don't understand Punk's recommendations thread. It doesn't really seem like it would be any help.
I'm seeing Los Lobos with my parents (eh, they offered to take me, I'm not going to say no). I've never heard them though really, are they any good? Like I know they're Latin rock, so I think it should be cool enough..kinda like Santana minus an awesome guitarist yes?
I'd call them Latin-Blues Rock, kinda like Santana, but not as...uh....psychedelic.

You !
Since I forgot to ask/offer yesterday, would you liked Ultravisitor uploaded since you now have downloading capabilities?

Bartender 04-24-2005 08:42 AM

Yeah, sure, that'd be cool, since I can't seem to find it anywhere :)

Anything you'd like in return? Anything on my RYM list should be available, I think.

munky_magik 04-24-2005 09:10 AM

I'll be fine without, thank you :)

It's in the process of uploading now. I think I'll also stick it in a Squarepusher thread in Other.

EDIT: This is taking surprisingly long to upload :-/

MalcolmYoungRock 04-24-2005 11:12 AM

Woah, the new skin is weird...

Anway, 'sup thread.

I'm off to band practice in about 10 minutes so just killing time.

NP: Have a Cigar - Pink Floyd.

I'm doing a miny research project(which is actually closer to a normal homework assignment) on the effect of people in poverty on other people in America.

trev913 04-24-2005 11:25 AM

I just got out of the shower and am now dressed and ready to go to Six Flags. I also have 81 AP Euro notecards to do before Friday.

And I am also the page 193 sniper

lunch998 04-24-2005 11:27 AM

Cool, which Six Flags?

AP Modern European History?

Arucard 04-24-2005 11:27 AM

The Matrix Online has honestly taken over my life.

I now have 930,547 experience, which means i have been playing way to much. Way, way to much.

Upload for 'Tender:

Squarepusher - Ultravisitor

Others can also download this if they wish, though it is an entire album

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-24-2005 12:29 PM

Bartender-Remember when we were talking about ZIP files? Well, I created one, then I copy pasted a song in there. Originally, it was 5.36 mbs. After I compressed it, it was 5.22 mbs.

I see no advantage to the shrinking factor. :p

This song is actually quite good, considering they had to completely change their vocal style big time. It's not as heavy as their previous stuff, and it sounds more upbeat, but I like it alot actually.

Thanks :) though it seems to be downloading kind of slow, for some reason.

EDIT: Never mind that; it's going more than three times the speed it was a minute ago, which is 50% faster than it even usually does.

I don't either. The advantage is that you can yousendit several individual files in one upload, if they're in a zip or rar file.

Well it is a big file, but I think yousendit was playing up because it took far too long to upload it :-/

Jom 04-24-2005 01:11 PM

Well, Jake, the more you put into a zip file, the greater the range between the zipped file and all the songs put together.

For example:

Motograter's s/t has 22 songs on it.

mp3 sizes:

418769
6521284
839294
7524433
370535
6232546
605965
8136224
494904
6531004
472519
6698679
926814
8810007
947717
8228829
737036
6474784
475149
7678553
602471
14335502
=
94062027

///

Packed mp3 sizes:

401500
6521284
832994
7515689
367603
6223441
601132
8112990
487993
6520244
470149
6690224
920475
8793653
940315
8117978
733010
6468559
473811
7670940
594917
14193690
=
93652591

So,

94062027 - 93652591 = 409436

It doesn't seem significant, but it helps... especially if you have a single program in a zipped file.

By the way, I also noticed YSI being quirky with me... it took me five minutes to upload a 2.2MB Therapy? song, and it usually takes me about twenty seconds or so for something of that size at uni, so yeah, I dunno what's up with that.

Bartender 04-24-2005 01:30 PM
Well it is a big file, but I think yousendit was playing up because it took far too long to upload it :-/
It kinda froze at 83% :-/

Trying again.

Eddie Hazel - California Dreamin

I can't get enough of this song.

Josh 04-24-2005 01:58 PM

what i find annoying is that at school i can't upload files to YSI, i says server not found, etc etc.
man i'm so tired, work was so boring today and even though the pub restaurant wasn't busy i still had to do a longer shift than usual because of some annoying people who were eating really slowly
how is everyone this fine evening?

NP: metallica - seek and destroy

Permanent Solution 04-24-2005 02:00 PM

Ok everyone, lets see some concert listings. (in my thread) My research was slow progress so I decided to put it up and add as I research.

Well it wouldn't be very helpful if I didn't include worldwide tours eh? :) It's going well so far, I'm glad, this should work reallly awesome if there's a lot of participation.

Eh, once the bulk are on there it'll only be reviews which aren't my problem. For now though it is a lot of editing yes, but the benefits are well worth the effort.
