TojesDolan 11-24-2006 08:19 PM

I'm not musically educated either. I just listen to what I like.

Hey Surf, let me give you a large one, buddy. :)

Surf 11-24-2006 08:20 PM

:naughty:

I promise never to use that smilie again. I feel ashamed.

slack 11-24-2006 08:21 PM

Well I uploaded some mp3s. Checkit

Surf 11-24-2006 08:27 PM

I'm listening now, cool stuff. 'Clinically dead' wasn't what i thought it would be. And I'm glad.

slack 11-24-2006 08:30 PM

omg we're listening to the same song

AT THE SAME TIME

Surf 11-24-2006 08:32 PM

WOW YOU BLEW MY MIND MAN THAT IS SO TRIPPY

I'm on a different song :(

TojesDolan 11-24-2006 08:35 PM

I'm almost on the same song as you were a couple minutes ago.

Man I'm so last season.

Surf 11-24-2006 08:38 PM

I really like this. If I could afford an album I'd buy it. Or if I could download stuff I'd download it. I'll just wait until i go home for the holidays. Remind me about it in a few weeks.

slack 11-24-2006 08:40 PM

Good luck finding it. I had to order mine off Amazon :/

Surf 11-24-2006 08:46 PM

I'll find it. Traffic is an awesome song.

On a non-related note, I need a new hobby - at the moment I'm just sitting in my room rolling cigarettes. I may go and crit wartree's latest thing I'm that bored. And if it stops him bumping it a thousand times then it would be worth it.

slack 11-24-2006 08:47 PM

uhm, learn guitar?

Surf 11-24-2006 08:51 PM

1. No guitar
2. I have no melodic ability
3. Its twenty five to two in the morning. People may not be impressed.
4. rolling cigarettes is oddly satisfying. Like lego with lung cancer.

TojesDolan 11-24-2006 08:55 PM

Read what I wrote for you, that should cheer you up.

Uh... make a review?
Drive a car?

Play nintendo?

:)

Surf 11-24-2006 09:04 PM

I can't even do notes. I blame my fingers. :(

I tried, still doesn't work, methinks its too large a pic.

Nightvision 11-25-2006 04:49 AM

Woohoo, getting a drumkit for christmas! :D

(which is only necessary because no-one around here is either a) into the same music as me or b) any good whatsoever)

So, discuss giving up on other people and just going the whole nine yards on your own.

Eliminator 11-25-2006 12:32 PM

i asked for a drumset

and then i was like wait i need a new amp

and now i'm like i want an acoustic

Surf 11-25-2006 12:43 PM

It was Christmas Eve babe
In the drunk tank
An old man said to me, won't see another one
And then he sang a song
The Rare Old Mountain Dew
And I turned my face away
And dreamed about you
Got on a lucky one
Came in eighteen to one
I've got a feeling
This year's for me and you
So happy Christmas
I love you baby
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true

Nightvision 11-25-2006 01:07 PM

Go for the acoustic, I was so glad I got mine. You don't even have to get an expensive one - mine only cost £80 (about $145) and that sounds fine.

I'd ideally like to just play guitar and sing, but my area has thousands of guitarists, and I have a friend who's willing to play bass, so what I really need is a drummer.

I'm also figuring that if I learn drums, I can then more or less do everything I need for a band. I'm an average guitarist, competent enough on bass, and I don't think I've got a terrible voice (although others may disagree).

Handily enough, this removes my need to rely on others for band practice, and I don't have to worry about the 15-year-old drummer constantly banging out Nirvana every time I'm trying to pin down a difficult riff.

SubtleDagger 11-25-2006 02:32 PM

Hiya

You may notice something different, mainly that I quit

You will probably have a new mod soon, in the meantime if there's any problems post them in the problems thread and I'll nag someone on AIM

Nightvision 11-25-2006 02:36 PM

wtf? Any reason?

Also, if you have any influence as to who gets the position, can you make sure it's someone who knows the place, preferably Jared or Tojes?

SubtleDagger 11-25-2006 02:40 PM

I have already made my suggestions to the mod staff

Please do not go making WHO WILL MOD threads or whatever because the mods will likely do whatever they need to themselves

Also I left because I'm tired of modding and it's a long story

Nightvision 11-25-2006 02:44 PM

ah, 'tis a shame and all that - but if you don't enjoy doing it, there's no point in doing it. You're not paid for it, so you shouldn't feel obliged to do it.

Anyway, you know all this, so I'll shut up.

Eliminator 11-25-2006 02:51 PM

being in bands isn't fun

TojesDolan 11-25-2006 04:02 PM

/last rant towards Burt

But... But Burt!

Why?

:(

You don't love us anymore?

Nonetheless, and despite we had our differences in the past (well you were the first mod to ban me so...) and despite I nag you a lot and you laugh at me for being a mexican, I want you to know your efforts at modding us bunch of whiny literature bitches are widely appreciated.

:)

Have fun doing whatever else you do.

RunAmokRampant 11-25-2006 07:23 PM

Well Subtledagger was pretty much the only active moderator for these forums as far as I can tell, so there had better be a good replacement soon or else this place be dogged to the poophouse.

Eliminator 11-25-2006 07:24 PM

haha burt, the link on the review for your new album leads to this
yeah, this is what i plan on doing

I love being in a band... but then again, my band's main focus is on playing fun and energetic melodic death-y music, rather than dull tech death.

Eliminator 11-25-2006 07:56 PM

i'm in a metal band right now, and i pretty much hate it.

every step we take in a good direction, it gets set back five paces. because they're retards and listen to the same five bands.

so i'm going to quit once i get my four track back. maybe start a different band, or just do everything myself.

TheBigMachine 11-25-2006 08:36 PM

Im looking to play prog, but alas, my guitarist just wants to play Slayer, and Metallica, and you know, things like that. They get boring after about the tenth time.

Eliminator 11-25-2006 08:54 PM

Gay prog like Dream Theater?

TheBigMachine 11-25-2006 08:58 PM

Nahhh, good prog like Riverside.

Eliminator 11-25-2006 09:01 PM

who is riverside

TheBigMachine 11-25-2006 09:04 PM

Prog band.
