^^SFSGSW did.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-28-2005 01:32 AM

I guess. Not desperatly though.

MAthiAS 08-28-2005 01:33 AM

The Five Magics remaster totally massacred the song. He even sung the wrong lyric once in it.

RustedPieces 08-28-2005 01:35 AM

The Take No Prisoners re-master also isn't as good as the original.

Chu 08-28-2005 05:57 AM
Jason started playing when he was 5, how about you?
lol.. Well.. I didn't start until 16, and even then I never really played it much. It wasn't until I was 18 when I really started playing...

Jev 08-28-2005 06:34 AM

So that's 13 years of catching up to do...

FlyingPaul_83 08-28-2005 09:05 AM
I think its weird to think that Dave and Glen and even Petrucci were not very impressive at Gigantour, when you consider how well Jeff Loomis and Michael Romeo played. Loomis can shred as well as anyone I've ever seen, he's so underrated.
I cmpletley agree, Jeff loomis is incredibly underrated. I love his solos so much, so technical and fluent. The solo in I Voyager is completely mind blowing.

FlyingPaul_83 08-28-2005 09:07 AM
The Take No Prisoners re-master also isn't as good as the original.
I don't like the vocals in take no prisoners or five magics remaster. Dave sings the wrong lyrics, the secondary vocals sound very weird, and they just aren't as badass as the original songs

Jev 08-28-2005 09:16 AM

I preferred the re-master of TNP.

Esp Griffyn 08-28-2005 09:19 AM

Loomis is good, but he's no Rusty Cooley.
None of the albums needed the remastering except KIMB, which had already been done in 2002.
I disagree.. The remastered version of Holy wars.. The punishment is due.. Made the best song in the world, even better

It would be awesome if Iron Maiden joiend Gigantour next year.. Not that I'd be able to see them since I'm european, but it'd be a nice slap in the face for sharon

Holy ****.

Blackmail the Universe
Set the World Afire
Skin O' My Teeth
The Scorpion
Wake Up Dead
In My Darkest Hour
Die Dead Enough
She-Wolf
Reckoning Day
A Tout Le Monde
Angry Again
Trust
Hangar 18
Sweating Bullets
Tornado of Souls
Kick the Chair
Symphony of Destruction
Peace Sells
Holy Wars

That was the set at the House of Blues show in AC tonight. It owned majorly, except the mixing guy messed up and you couldn't really hear the vocals for any of the bands.

I got there at about 6:30, which was about 3/4s of the way through Dillenger's set. I think they played maybe 2 more songs after I got there, and then Fear Factory tore it up for their slot. Then Dream Theater came on and hot ****, it was great. Then the mighty Megadeth, complete with James MacDonahugh's red ESP bass for most of the set and strobe lights in the place of pyro. Show ended at about 11:50.

wow what were you thinking missing nevermore?

but that's awesome man, I think or setlists are alike.

vashts80 08-28-2005 11:13 PM

What happened was, my dad took me. He owns his own towing company, and his co-worker couldn't take over for him until around 5:15, so we left at 5:45 and got in around 6:30 between getting to Showboat, traveling around the parking garage, getting inside, getting checked, checking the cameras in (:() and actually getting into the music hall :\

I'm glad, because Cooley is boring as fuck.

It sucks they didn't play Back in the Day. I would've traded Angry Again for it easily. And it seems Dave lied about playing Five Magics, Take No Prisoners, Rattlehead, or Hook in Mouth.

vashts80 08-29-2005 12:52 AM

I love MacDonough's tone. It's absolutely amazing, one of the best bass tones I've ever heard. /me wants GKs

That is the same exact set list they played when I saw them a month ago, I guess they aren't really switching it up. I wish they would've played some stuff off of KIMB

Apocalyptic Raids 08-29-2005 02:00 AM

They played Mechanix and Back In The Day when I saw them :D

FlyingPaul_83 08-29-2005 06:46 AM
They played Mechanix and Back In The Day when I saw them :D
but you didn't see them on gigantour right? or did you? I wish they played five magics and Take no prisoners. That would've been cool.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-29-2005 07:03 AM

Nah, I saw them on the Blackmail The Universe tour.

I'm going to see Gigantour in Montreal on September 2 and I am very excited as I have heard that they are going to film the show. I am REALLY hoping that a Megadeth song that is not played often will make it into the setlist. I mean, the current setlist is badass...but how could Dave put "Angry Again" over something from the very first album the band released?

Jev 08-29-2005 09:40 AM

Maybe they might do Rattlehead.

Blind Guardian 08-29-2005 12:24 PM

Great band, Mustaine is awesome.

they are recording the show because its the last show that dream theater is doing if I'm not mistaken.

Can't wait for Gigantour!

MAthiAS 08-30-2005 12:52 AM

I really wish I saw Anthrax instead of DT... DT were really not a good live band, and they played their worst songs.

RustedPieces 08-30-2005 08:21 AM

Man, they used to have a contest to win an ESP DV-8, now the contest is just to win an LTD guitar and the model is different everytime.
