dep's new singer is a faggot

masscows 09-13-2007 09:02 PM
DEP absolutly RAPES Unearth in every way, shape, and form.
yeah, maybe except in writing songs that actually make sense and arent a pointless rabble of random notes.

The bands shouldn't be compared.

You're an idiot. Look at some tabs and you'll see that it isn't 'random' notes. What the hell do you mean by 'random' anyway? Like everytime they play a song live, it's different or something? They play their songs the same way everytime (sometimes they vary in structure eg. intros and outros) they play live.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 10:11 PM

I don't like them, but I can respect that they play... "weirdly."
The bands shouldn't be compared.
This.

And I wasn't comparing them, I was stating my opinion on both.

I haven't heard this suposedly horrible new DEP singer; is he that bad?

big80smullet 09-13-2007 10:52 PM

I like Dillinger! I also like unearth! I dont really see any comparison between the two. I hope the new singer isn't as bad as you're making out!

RunAmokRampant 09-14-2007 01:06 AM

Uh, its the same singer from Miss Machine.

antihippy 09-14-2007 01:21 AM

screaming doesn't equal screamo.

dep's singer is alright.

big80smullet 09-14-2007 01:22 AM
Uh, its the same singer from Miss Machine.
Oh i thought i missed something. Hes alright!

Iceman-rocker 09-14-2007 07:05 AM

would you consider Parkway Drive a metalcore band?

i just think of them as thrash metal with hardcore influence
but all the basic elements of metalcore are there.

antihippy 09-14-2007 09:04 AM

where did you get the thrash metal from? they just sound like regular metalcore to me.

big80smullet 09-14-2007 10:39 AM

They're alright. I also don't get the thrash element. Would anyone consider Between The Buried And Me metalcore? Cause my brother calls them that and i wanna prove him wrong. CAuse i dont think they are.

ATM 09-14-2007 10:44 AM

I missed the Intronaut talk :(

I actually spent like 20 mins talking to their bassist outside a show once, he was awesome

i am the robots 09-14-2007 11:09 AM
screaming doesn't equal screamo.

dep's singer is alright.
there is sort of an "screamo scream"

like, hot cross did it, as cities burn's old singer did it, envy's singer does it, a lot of bands use that type of scream, like voice cracky sounding.

Invicta_Veritas 09-14-2007 12:09 PM

The same singer from MM? What's the problem then? He's not that bad.

//has only heard MM.

He's the dude on Miss Machine

they just improvise with aboout 5 scales at a time and track it onto their computers and then learn how to play it later, probably.

I doubt they actually "write" their riffs.

LifeInABox 09-14-2007 01:54 PM

Yeah, that's definatly why they play live, right?

i am the robots 09-14-2007 02:28 PM

Wow, that's the most ignorant thing I've ever said. That's exactly how everybody acts about metal in general who doesn't get metal.

i am the robots 09-14-2007 03:04 PM

I'm starting a Botch clone band btw.

SylentEcho 09-14-2007 03:07 PM

I used to like Metalcore a lot but then I discovered how lame it was. Aren't you guys tired of so many bands doing the same damn thing over and over again?

Txus 09-14-2007 05:38 PM

**** you all.

I'll play singer.
I used to like Metalcore a lot but then I discovered how lame it was. Aren't you guys tired of so many bands doing the same damn thing over and over again?
Couldn't you say that with any genre?
they just improvise with aboout 5 scales at a time and track it onto their computers and then learn how to play it later, probably.

And what exactly is wrong with that? They like to challenge themselves, they're IMPROVISING which is what you DO with scales. I don't see your point whatsoever.

SylentEcho 09-15-2007 12:39 AM

Im tired of listening to crappy albums like As Daylight Dies, The Serpent and so many recent boring metalcore albums...Ive totally lost interest in metalcore as of now.
The only Metalcore I sometimes listen to is old KSE and Unearth.

Just because I like [insert genre] does not mean I have to enjoy listening to every generic, plagiarising, mainstream-friendly and lifeless clone-of-a-better-band. Just lisen to a genre's best albums. Otherwise, if you are bored of metalcore, expand into other genres.

i am the robots 09-15-2007 03:55 AM
I'll play singer.
i just got invited to do vocals for the third band this past week

nah son

ima do the vocals for the band that was my idea first, then the toughguy hardcore band and the death metal band.

:)

big80smullet 09-15-2007 04:55 AM
I'm listening to Sun of Nothing from Colors right now and I would describe it's sound as "progressive metalcore with audible thrash and death metal influences, with some Mr. Bungle and The Beatles thrown in for good measure!:p" What genre that would be, I have no clue!
Ive got ants of the sky on atm. Its pretty dominant. I love the folk band rendition of pachelbels canon. Its pretty quality.
