yeah screw one of the main international languages on the planet learn a language only spoken in one socialist country that no one cares about aside from the fact that it produced a few decent death metal bands GOOD CALL
|
You don't have to learn French. I mean, you have to take it until Grade 3 but that just teaches you how to conjugate verbs. I had to learn it, though, I took it (and I took the Immersion program, not the mandatory one everyone hast o take) until Grade 11.

Terrible, which is why I dropped it. They make it a chore. They can't decide on whether they want to teach you culture or grammar so they basically split it down the middle, only it makes no sense how they do it. They'll spend years on grammar, then go, "nah" and before you know it you're taking ****ing math in french, and then in grade 9 they go "nah" and you take math in English, so you're totally ****ing lost, but then you're forced to spend hours learning how to conjugate Subjonctif verbs which can **** off. I haven't taken French in over 5 years but I can still speak it semi-fluently. Just don't ask me to spell or conjugate anything. |
yes it does

I rarely read french books (reading one right now, and it's the first time I read a book in french for my own pleasure. I plan on picking up on that, though), and my writing isn't exactly impeccable, either. I'm not horrible, but I still make a considerable amount of mistakes. |

that's what happens when you learn to write in the french program of an english school. You're not exactly up to par with most of the people going to french schools as far as knowledge of the written aspect of the language. However, the french programs in english schools here are much better than what Cocaine was describing. |

Yep, my entire family is french. I really want to do a family tree to see how long ago my ancestors first settled here. All I know as far as heritage is that my family name originates from Brittany, a celtic part of France.
