The ****...

TOLKIEN man!

And did you folks not read my post earlier?

ENSIFERUM IS COMING TO HOLLAND.

Maybe you'd be interested, 2stranger?

masscows 07-26-2009 01:40 PM

ensiferum is great live, seen em twice and they ruled both times

Jaundice 07-26-2009 01:41 PM

it's like i just said, these are what you gotta start out with

Aldous Huxley - The Doors of Perception
Friedrich Engels - The Condition of the Working Class in England in 1844
George Orwell - Clergyman's Daughter
all the Harry Potter books
Leopold Von Sacher Masoch - Venus in Furs

be careful though, some of those will light your very soul on fire

Morbus 07-26-2009 01:43 PM

On Intelligence by Jeff Hawkins and Sandra Blakeslee was pretty mind-blowing despite the somewhat amateurish writing style

RouteOne 07-26-2009 01:44 PM

I'm currently reading Faust by Goethe

AA-12 07-26-2009 01:44 PM

Bitch you is trippin

There's no Bret Easton Ellis and Chuck Palahniuk on that list. Everything I mentioned was elite.

masscows 07-26-2009 01:53 PM

i'll put The Clergyman's Daughter on my list

Morumbar 07-26-2009 01:54 PM

I read somewhere that drinking is bad for you, so I quit reading.

Jaundice 07-26-2009 01:55 PM

You need to read Venus in Furs too, it will change the way you look at life forever.

Catfish BROnes 07-26-2009 01:55 PM

I'm currently reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

I've enjoyed it so far.

masscows 07-26-2009 01:55 PM

Good book, but the it got annoying at times when for pages nothing happens at all and just scenery is described.
I'm currently reading Faust by Goethe
I'm reading The Republic in no particular order

My brain is BitTorrenting it

Jaundice 07-26-2009 01:59 PM
maybe
it's like 100 pages at the most, you've got nothing to lose

I have come to the conclusion that a re-make of Silent hill 1 would be amazing.

The Feeding 07-26-2009 02:15 PM

kinda like how they remade Resident Evil? only do it better...

Everything stays the same except for updated graphics and sound.

Loved that game. The newest one is stupid because it concentrates too much on combat, and there is WAY too much ammo. One of the best parts of the silent hill series was conserving ammo.

Yeah, I can see how someone could find that annoying, but I kinda like it.

I can see how it lends to the feel of the book though, since desolation was an important theme.

Exactly.

I bit into my thumb as hard as I could and imagined myself ramming a sharpened number two pencil into my eye. I was happy.

Well that's odd, I just did the same thing, only it was a number 3 pencil

Angmar 07-26-2009 02:37 PM

For those who don't know number 3 pencils are dicks.
