i just wrote my own best tapping sequence ever! its sooo wonderful... it sounds even neo-classical :D

and it was 4 finger-tapping! i mean... on one string, but with a doulbe-pull off in my left hand :)

pate 01-15-2008 01:33 PM
you're such a snoozer.
Yep. I'd rather have no money and do well than work and do worse, so I don't work.

For a while I was learning how to do hammers and pulls with my picking hand over the fretboard, but that **** was too hard.

I understand that, My dad is a hardass so I don't have much choice in the matter.

repcak 01-15-2008 01:44 PM

recording? ... hm... give me half an hour
and?
I just wouldn't go around bragging about not having to go to school or work if you're living with your parents.
I just wouldn't go around bragging about not having to go to school or work if you're living with your parents.
Yeah, I was never bragging. Either way, it is quite enjoyable.

repcak 01-15-2008 02:01 PM

ok, i have tried to record it, but failed... cause its a really though one and i think i have to practise tapping in general more to get it down.

but instead i recorded a melody i wrote about 1-2years ago... its easy, but its a melody i think no one ever wrote; its slow, but great; i've never heard something like that before... so who knows: maybe i'm the first one :p

i will upload it for you... give me some minutes

That sounds pretty cool. I could imagine some ambient **** goin' on behind it. Good job :)

And yeah who cares if it ain't perfect....that's what pro tools is for :p

repcak 01-15-2008 02:16 PM

i don't know why, but i always sucked at recording.

the sound coming from my amp is always different, from the sound i'm recording - i know why, but this is hard to fix.

yeah... first try, recorded... well, and i have to practise the other tapping sequence i wrote today.

btw. the one of the recording is a mix of tapping and sliding with your tapping finger ;)

TojesDolan 01-15-2008 02:17 PM

I don't have an amp at all

lols

ZapatoDiablo 01-15-2008 02:18 PM

Try putting your head right in front of the amp where the mic would be...you'll hear it sounds completely different than when you're standing up or a few feet away from it.

yes, i know the effect;
but i record line-in not through a mic... i have a digitech rp-80 who can simulate about 8 different amps, but though its hard to get a sound i like... its the main reason why i hardly record anything.

f.e. i promised ppl more than a year ago that i will record the intro of symphony x - inferno... i haven't cause i was never satisfied with the outcome and now i don't care anymore.

the doppler effect is sweet

AA-12 01-15-2008 02:40 PM

My right ear makes my amp sound horrible so I always have it sitting on my left side :)

OHNOES

Dude seriously after recording that cd, every song I listen to by every band I can see the whole Pro Tool editor **** goin' on haha.
i don't know why, but i always sucked at recording.
Recording is a bitch. Especially with a click. I know this sounds gay but I've never practiced to a click track or anything so when I record to one it always throws me off. I should work on that, yeah....

yeah, have practised a lot of time with a metronome, but recently i stopped. i have my own band i now i concentrate on writing solos as often as i have time...
yeah, have practised a lot of time with a metronome, but recently i stopped. i have my own band i now i concentrate on writing solos as often as i have time...
yeah I'd definitely recommend a metronome with the whole solos thing...Recording the solos I wrote for my band's cd was gay because I have a tendencie to play everything the way I'm used to, and I also have a tendencie to play everything way ahead of the tempo when recording. I suck :(

AA-12 01-15-2008 02:46 PM

I've never used a metronome so recording with one is just about impossible

TojesDolan 01-15-2008 02:47 PM

I do it when I have to do like harmony guitarz

That's what I need. I always get like a take perfect except one little thing, but it's not worth going back and fixing. Especially the 15 minute epic on my new album. I made one little ****up.
