From Dusk Til Dawn was good just because of how completely absurd the idea of the movie is. Plus, Tarantino was in it.

I heard that Stephen King disowned the film version of The Shining because it didnt really match up with the book at all.
true about king. he actually liked the made for tv mini-series more. i love king, but when it comes to this i think he's full of it. he should of been kissing kubricks arse. king should stick to writing...

cbmartinez 08-08-2006 07:11 PM

Cabin Fever had the humor in it which I liked. Because Eli Roth at least had a sense of humor about making a horror movie, isntead of trying to be all dark and serious (see: Hostel). Plus, the whole sickness thing, that could actually happen and that's what made the movie scary.

yeah. it was fairly disgusting and horrible. the whole premise, like you said. it just made me feel weak and woosy :(

cbmartinez 08-08-2006 07:18 PM

I thought I was going to puke, when she's running the razor over her sores. Ugh, that was so gross.

Yeah, it was still a good movie, but just that it took the same name, and it was expected to follow the plot at least a little bit closer.

Quentin Tarantino refused to take credit for writing Natural Born Killers because the editors of the film completely butchered what he had in mind.

CHRIS: Horror movies are always good with a little bit of comedy in them. Hostel did have the bit thought with the guy the main character meets in the locker room just before he goes to torture the girl. I still maintain my position that unless you saw that movie in a theatre, or if you watch it with a bunch of friends, it will be a completely different movie.

i don't remember a whole lot specifically. but i remember it being real sad. they would lock people away. put one girl in a shed and her boyfriend didn't want to leave her or something. flesh tearing off the body, vomit and disease, just grossness all around...

cbmartinez 08-08-2006 07:21 PM

Hostel was terrible no matter how you watched it. The gore was sweet but the plot sucked. It was a Tarentino wanna be through and through.

Yeah. Tarantino had a prob with Oliver Stone, too. Again like King he thought he changed his story too much. Doesn't matter IMO. NBK is an awesomely good film. A classic, IMO. And as good as Quentin is I'm sorry, he is no Oliver Stone...

cobert 08-08-2006 07:28 PM

I would actually like to see the film made from tarantinos script, just to see the differences. NBK was still a good movie, though.

I think what made Cabin Fever so great was that it just had this sense of despair. Its like you felt the entire way through that none of the characters were going to make it.

New Subject: Gospel is one of the top 3 bands in emo

cobert 08-08-2006 07:34 PM

Currently, or of all time?

Chilly-Bean-Bop 08-08-2006 07:38 PM
Yes, odd. I thought feakishly scary, too. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is worth a look. The Exorcist, Event Horizon, and for horror/suspense The Shining. The original Kubrick directed one. From Dusk To Dawn for outlaw/vampire horror is good, too.
The Exorcist is a fantastic movie.

The Shining with Jack Nicholson, oh my god that is THE best.

I gotta do homework be back lateruhzzzZz

cobert 08-08-2006 07:39 PM

Bye Chels.

cbmartinez 08-08-2006 07:47 PM

Currently, but they are up there on all time list too.

cobert 08-08-2006 07:52 PM

Yeah, they are pretty good. Some parts get a bit too proggy for me, where theyre borderline corny, but theyre a good band.

DepthsOfDreams555 08-08-2006 08:06 PM

I just got done watching a movie called Life As A House, it was crazy sad, but it was good.

cobert 08-08-2006 08:09 PM

That movie was so damn depressing.

DepthsOfDreams555 08-08-2006 08:11 PM

You saw it? I had never heard of it. I know I just watched and I'm am so depressed.

cobert 08-08-2006 08:14 PM

Yeah, i saw it a while ago.

I wouldnt be able to watch it anymore without thinking about Anakin Skywalker.

DepthsOfDreams555 08-08-2006 08:17 PM

Haha that's exactly what I was thinking about. But I got over it within like 15 minutes.

cobert 08-08-2006 09:15 PM

Ive decided that Im going to read all of the articles and sub-articles about WWII on wikipedia. Because its interesting.

And MX is moving slow, so i will bow out for the night.
