NP Skindred - Pressure
I do not see the appeal that band holds.

My girlfriend (she is no longer the girl, now is the girlfriend)'s mom is so awesome. She made us dinner and it was extremely good. Stir fry of steak and peas and carrots and zuchinni and water chestnuts all done in a cast iron pan with lots of flavor and a sweet potato(eQualye). Then my girlfriend proceeded to pop about 5 IBuprofen. I told her she'd get sick. Then she did.

The truth and only the truth.
I was never planning on asking her straight-up, because I'm sure she'd freak out. But I never thought about talking more to her roommate. Thing is, she might tell my gf about everything...so yeah.
Talking to roomate first = really bad idea. Easy way to lose the girlfriend.

Arrakakaka 02-25-2005 08:05 PM

Hey Antihero, can i see your full photobucket album too?

/still has to meet his girlfriend's mother

Also, WTF? Five Ibuprofen? Congrats, DM, you're going out with a pill-popper.

Dancin' Man 02-25-2005 08:07 PM

My secret to girls - meet their mother and charm her. If the mom likes you, you're golden. Then, even if the girl is pissed at you, you can chill with her mom.

lunch998 02-25-2005 08:07 PM

DN, I think you should just give up the dream and let things roll with your girlfriend. If something comes up, take advantage, but if not then I wouldn't go trying to force it.

Well, I wouldn't be talking to her immediately about a threesome, just trying to get to know her and become one of her friends. Ideally my gf would be there so that it would be a more casual setting to get to know the roommate.

I've found it's pretty easy to win over the mothers.

What about the fathers?

I'm not trying to force this...this is going to be a long-term plan, one that will develop over time.

Fathers seem less important to me. Girls seem to have a special bond with their mothers. I'm good with dads too though. I'm a fan of the hearty handshake and confidence. Also, very minimal if any touching of their daughter where he can see.

I always thought that girls had the bond with fathers and guys with mothers (hence, "Daddy's little girl" and "Mama's boy").

Either way, what kind of contact is permissive here? What about the arm around her shoulders? That seems to show affection without pushing the line.

That is about as much as I am willing. I had one girlfriend who's mom was really awesome though and she would always tell her dad to chill out which meant she and I could have practically had sex in front of him and he would have not been able to say anything because of his wife.

I think children are closer with the parent that is their same sex. There's a special bond like you're talking about, but DM is talking about being cool with the girl's mom. A girl's mom is usually more likely to accept a boyfriend and let the daughter do more things than the dad would normally allow.

Maybe closer wasn't the right word. It seems like a guy's dad will allow the kid to do more than his mom will, and vice versa for girls.

I know what you're saying. Kids tend to have different bonds with each parent. And historically, yeah, moms are more lenient than dads.
