Yeah, it's called 'Blood and Semen III'. I quoted it from Encycmet.com earlier.

Wait, do you have Dave as a person or musician? Because a while back in this thread you said that he's a good guitarist.

Blanka Flip 12-30-2005 12:42 AM
To Thrasher:

Man, it's pretty sad that people don't comprehend this. This is what I mean when people say how Cliff was so good on bass: he wasn't. He was a decent bass player, nothing more. As a songwriter, was he bad? No. Was he absolutely amazing? No. He was a good song writer for the thrash that the Bay Area produced. He wasn't a super duper extraordinary bass player. Take it from an actual bass player.

If you're going to say Cliff is better than Jason and Rob, that's like saying that Kirk Hammett is better than Marty Friedman and Dave Mustaine, or that Kurt Cobain was better than Steve Vai. It's not true, at all. It's like saying that Lars Ulrich is better than Gene Hoglan or Richard Christy...it's not true.
In terms of true talent, as you speak, where in his entire career with Metallica did Jason show more talent than Cliff did?

Darkness 12-30-2005 12:44 AM

Cliff wrote songs way better then anything Jason ever did for the band, dude.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 12:46 AM

For fuck sake, this has just been argued for pages. Don't start it again, because it's obvious that you fanboys will never realise.

Nowhere.

We've discussed enough of that topic 10 pages back or so.

Trust me, I'm not fanboy. I just like the things Cliff brought to the table more then what Jason did.

Blanka Flip 12-30-2005 12:55 AM

I'm entitled to say my little bit. All I had was one dam question. Good lord, you people are so edgy around here. It's not a wonder why I havn't been on here as much lately.

As a person, he's a decent musicain, too bad he's such a whinger.

Okay, how about we do something that may not have been done in this thread before. Why don't we talk about Metallica song meanings? I seriously don't have a great idea what the song The Unforgiven is about.

PepsiMetal 12-30-2005 02:40 AM

I'm not sure what it means, but I get this from it: It talks about new person being born, then having a horrible life, and then admitting the singer (James) is actually that person.

lol

The Thing That Should Not Be (and Call of the Ktulu to some extent) are pretty cool in that they were inspired by a series of century old novels that few people have ever heard about. I read them though:)

I am currently reading The Mountains of Madness, it's pretty good. H.P. Lovecraft was a good writer.

And pepsimetal, I guess that does make sense.

Is that part of the Chtulu Mythos? I've been trying to remember to finish The Dunwich Horror.

Grimm 12-30-2005 02:55 AM

This has probably been mentioned somewhere back, but master of puppets is about the heroin users and dealers back in the vietnam war.and i think king nothing is about when gold diggers' plans backfire or something similar to that.
