Okay, I'm listening to Cream, which is rare. So, I have a request.

Rank the members of Cream, based on whatever.

1. Ginger Baker
2. Jack Bruce
3. Eric Clapton

jpj 05-23-2005 06:15 PM

1. Jack Bruce
2. Eric Clapton
3. Ginger Baker

To me Clapton and Baker are really interchangeable on the list, as long as Bruce is first.

Broken Arrow 05-23-2005 06:17 PM

Clapton
Baker
Bruce

Canadian-Guy 05-23-2005 06:21 PM

I'll have to suck up to Livewired on this one:lol:

Everyone in that group was hella talented, but Clapton > all.

lunch998 05-23-2005 06:40 PM

I don't know, I can't do it. If it's just in Cream then I'd go:

Bruce
Baker
Clapton

But all around Clapton would be first.

drugstore cowboy 05-23-2005 06:44 PM

Clapton
Bruce
Baker

I dunno, Clapton's as famous as he is for a reason, even if he did cover J.J. Cale's songs, and do "I shot the Sherriff"...*shudder*

Baker was one helluva drummer, but he never really blew me away. It's the combination of all three that makes them good...and the kickass songs...

Broken Arrow 05-23-2005 06:58 PM

Hah I was just on RYM and on Widepread Panic's Space Rangler there was 5 ratings.

Badmoon
Robo2448
Stonfree13

were 3 of the 5.

lunch998 05-23-2005 07:12 PM

Figures. If I had a RYM account it would be mine too. I tried once but it was taking me forever to get my list together, I really didn't feel like going through all my albums.

Same, that site always goes really slow for me.

Were You banned?

But, yeah, from what I've heard I'd say it'd go:
Bruce
Baker
Clapton

Looks like me and lunch have the same list.

I just set up an account there yesterday. It took a long time though. Space Wrangler is awesome. Wisespread Panic is awesome. I need to get a live cd of theirs though

EDIT- oh yeah
Clapton
Baker
Bruce

for me. Clapton and Baker could switch though. Bruce is great, but I just don't think he's as talented as the other 2. It would be different if you were basing it on their contributions to the band though. I feel Bruce probably contributed the most to Cream's identity as a psychadelic-blues rock band.

And DE, I'm gonna steal some music, kthxbi.

lunch998 05-23-2005 07:26 PM

Ok guys, for my upcoming Who FA, I need help compiling a list of 10 or so songs to upload for the thread? Give me your favorites (I'm trying to get a general feel for what people like rather than posting my own personal favorites that most people don't enjoy quite as much).

lunch998 05-23-2005 07:40 PM

Yea another I'm trying to do is cover at least most of their career. I probably don't need anything from Face Dances or It's Hard, but at least from 1965 to 1978.

White Goodman 05-23-2005 07:43 PM

Baba O Riley
Won't Get Fooled Again
Who Are You
Pinball Wizard
I Can See For Miles
My Generation

Clapton and Baker could be switched...or Bruce and Clapton could switch...They're all just too good.

Just make sure you upload "Slip Kid".
I hear Uber Cobra is a good live album. I've only heard bootlegs, but hopefully I'll be seeing them myself in July
It is a good album; "Papa Johnny Road" was done very nicely, as usual.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-23-2005 08:13 PM

Just upload all of Tommy.

I heard a cool Who cover done by Phish, do any of you know what song it might have been?

Seafroggys 05-23-2005 08:17 PM

1. Bruce
2. Baker
3. Clapton

Sorry, I just love good rhythm sections. Comes from being a drummer.

Has anyone consdiered Behind Blue Eyes on that list? I absolutly love that song, one of the best ballads ever IMO.

I never really cared for it, so I'm not going to upload it myself. It's under the "Other suggested downloads" section.
I HATE Behind Blue Eyes!
Yea I'm almost to that point.
