I got it off Soulseek, but it only sounds like one rapper, but I'm not sure if it's just a Slug song or an Atmosphere one. I've googled both the names with the song, but found nothing. I now have the new Arcturus album in an awesome bit rate thanks to Pigs...

So far this is good, but not expected of Arcturus.(are you supposed to expect something from Arcturus though?) It's more based around ambient/atmosphere instead of their crazy off the wall music like before. But it is still good and Vortex did a good job with the vocals.

Sadly, I found the new stuff to be the biggest disapointment I've had in a while. Contrary to popular belief, I can't stand Vortex's voice in the songs I've heard.

I think that track appears on Sad Clown Bad Dub 2, which is an Atmosphere album.

Not really. The new stuff is more about ambience/atmosphere instead of the really weird sound.

Vortex is using the same type of vocal style he uses in his other band Lamented Souls. Which is more of a doomish metal type of vocal style that tends to drag on, and his other operatic style mixed in.

I personally like it.

I didn't mind Demon Painter at all, but I've heard the song he did the vocals for on La Masquerade and I couldn't stand it. I've never heard his vocals with Dimmu Borgir, so I'm still optimistic.

And you have yet to hear his vocals for Borknagar as well correct?

And that song he did on La Masquerade Infernale was not of his normal vocal styles. The whole song is supposed to give off a crazy feeling, as comparable to The Trial by Pink Floyd in the same sense.

He also did a bunch of backing vocals on the album with Garm, and they are more of a normal style by him. And his vocals in Dimmu Borgir are more operatic then usual and his works in Borknagar are harsh and operatic clean vocals as well.

After LMI, I can expect anything from Arcturus. I'm only familiar with what Vortex has done with Arcturus, but I like what he's done with this album. He has some of the most original vocal styles I've heard in a while. I guess you could say he uses something like an operatic style, but he puts a massive twist on it...it almost sounds erratic sometimes.

Other than that, I've gotta read a hundred pages and write a one-page critique of it by tomorrow. Bummer. :( What's happening with all of you?

I'm sick of work, and I'm slowly getting glummer and glummer as I realise the time is ticking away to me having to go to work. Ah well. At least I had a great time this morning. And I have good music and food to keep my spirits up.

I'm going to a baseball game tomorrow. Mets at Nationals. Too bad both teams are out of the running for the Wild Card, or the game would actually have some significance. I'm hoping to see some good baseball besides. Should be fun.
