well, I haven't posted in a while. Got a new band going on, and I bought a china cymbal last week, 14" AAX Mini Chinese...pretty sweet.

Janeway 07-19-2006 05:19 PM

Tralalala.
I can't decide whether to go swimming or to go listen to Eminem.

Becuase I'm in an arrogant slacker mood.

Sunshine 07-19-2006 06:11 PM

I finally finished my jacket today and started sewing camo scraps on a pair of shorts.

So I have a jacket, legwarmers [or "boot covers," depending on who you are], a shirt with detail, shorts with detail, actual camo shorts, a choker, a bracelet, and a hell of a lot of scraps to attatch to various clothing items, all from an ugly pair of old BDUs my mom can't use anymore because they're swtiching patterns. All sewn by hand because the sewing machine is lost within the depths of the garage.

I actually accomplished something reletivaly big this summer.

Aaron 07-19-2006 06:13 PM

Sup pespi?

Janeway 07-19-2006 07:05 PM

Nothing.

My mom is going to make me an appointment for a physical.
I hate physicals. I always get stuck with the stupid doctor lady who can't grasp the concept of me not caring. I hate her. She always tries her damdest to make me cry, but I refuse. Last time I just appeased her by talking in a wavery voice the whole time. =/

She took my socks off for me.
Like, I didn't think it was important to take my socks off when I got naked, but when I was sitting on that little table she started taking them off. I was like, WTF?!

Sunshine 07-19-2006 07:50 PM

Wait.

Why would she try and make you cry?

Janeway 07-19-2006 09:32 PM

Because she thinks I'm too negative to lead a healthy lifestyle.
She thinks crying with her will give me some big breakthrough and turn me into Little Miss Happy. I want to go to a different doctor. =/

 man thats hilarious

Sunshine 07-19-2006 09:59 PM

Ouch.

Demand another doctor next time you go.

Janeway 07-19-2006 10:11 PM

Too much of a pushover.

I'm bored.
Currently downloading:
Akira original english dub
Seven Samurai
Dr. Octagon- Return of Dr. Octagon
WuTang Clan- Enter the Wu Tang(36 chambers)
WuTang Clan- Enter the Wu Tang(36 chambers)
I just downloaded that too. Along with some Gov't Mule, Muse, Astral Projection, Return to Forever, and tons of Bill Hicks.

Janeway 07-19-2006 10:18 PM

Ugh. Gov't Mule.

I am so sick of that Greasy Granny's Gopher Gravy song.
My father plays it non stop. =/

Sunshine 07-19-2006 10:49 PM

Heeey, I think I know that. Sorta.

Maybe not, I thought it was Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts...

Maybe a variation?

I have no clue what I'm talking about, perhaps I should just go to bed early.

Janeway 07-19-2006 11:00 PM

I don't know. Now that I think about it, I can't recall any of the lyrics except for the 'Greasy Granny' thing. Uh Oh.

I can't find Geto Boy's Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta on slsk.
That is officially the greatest song ever composed.
It's the ultimate in fricken' chill music.

Maggot Dream 07-19-2006 11:01 PM

Pespi got it. And that's a good song.

Gov't Mule is really more of a live band than anything else. I've seen them twice, they were amazing both times. Not quite as good as the Allman Brothers Band though.

Janeway 07-19-2006 11:03 PM

The Allman brothers are amazing live.
I've seen them 4 times, I think.

We were going to go see them with Tom Petty this summer, but my mother didn't want shitty seats in a shitty venue.

And I saw them the last time they toured with Dicky Betts.
I was little then, so I didn't really pay attention, though. =/

Seafroggys 07-19-2006 11:37 PM

well i'm gonna see The Who in October...tickets go on sale on the 5th, and I will have them.

Janeway 07-20-2006 12:03 AM

I thought half the members were dead?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=b7wDoLKAIKk&search=damn%20it%20feels%20good%20to%20be%20a%20gangsta
Oh, Dr. Robotnik and you're utterly phallic facial features.
How I missed thee.

Seafroggys 07-20-2006 12:26 AM

yeah half of them are dead :p

Even with Moon long dead, I would have easily gone and seen them, no two questions about it. However, since Entwistle's untimely passing in 2002, I haven't been too keen on the whole seeing them idea. After all, John Entwistle is quite possibly my favorite of The Who.

But my dad came home, completely bonkers and berserk that they were coming, and he really rubbed off on me. So now I feel the urge of going......not like it was with John alive, but still worth it.

Its their last tour anyway (they're nearing their mid-60s) so might as well take it for what it is.

Janeway 07-20-2006 12:34 AM

Last tour my ass.

They all say that, get a taste of more money, and go back out for three more.

That gives me an idea. Perhaps i should finish my jacket one of these days.

Well...

Yesterday we travelled by train and bus to frankfurt hahn, to catch a plane to Gdańsk. Ryanair has a really bad weight restriction so I ended up having to wear:

2 x pair of socks
1 x pair of shoes
1 x underwear
4 x trousers
2 x shorts
10 x t-shirt
2 x sweater
1 x suit jacket
2 x belt
2 x scarf

It was above 30 degrees Celsius aswell. Kind of hot... Funny enough, I didn't have any hats.

Anyway, i'm in Sopot, Poland right now and it's still roasting hot. Oops, family is a-calling. Better run.

rockindrummer 07-20-2006 07:19 AM

That would be horribly uncomfortable.
My birthday is today also.
July 19th? And how old are you?

My birthday pretty much rocked. Hung out with my friends who made longboards from scratch. Then we went to Guitar Center to get a practice pad and some sticks. Then we went cruising on the longboards until we went out to eat at BJ's. then we came back for cake and presents.
I got:
Vault Hi-hats
DW 5300 snare stand
Anatomy of a Drum Solo
Wallet
CD case
Practice Pad
Stewart Copeland signature sticks
2 Rubik's cubes

Pretty sweet. After presents we went cruising again.

ludvista29 07-20-2006 09:55 AM

I'm SO happy! I just got A Paiste Sig, Ride :) 21 Dry Heavy :)

Sunshine 07-20-2006 10:04 AM

My instructor forgot I had lessons yesterday.

Ah well...we would've had to open the garage, and it was monsoon-ing, so that would've been unpleasant.

haha how nice of him..

Sunshine 07-20-2006 10:19 AM

Ehh it's ok.

It's hard to remember because it's like..either he's on vacation or I am, so it's hard to remember which weeks we have practice and when.

But I'm going to Japan in 3 days, so I guess I'll just have to wait for a lesson when school starts. August 9th.

Who ever heard of school starting August 9th =/

fishbulb 07-20-2006 10:49 AM

To be completely honest about the hi-hats i got last night, i was a little disappointed when i played them next to my old ones because i didn't hear much of a difference. But when i played them today they were SOOO much better it was amazing. I couldn't stop playing on them. The snare stand is really sturdy, also, I just have to fine tune the angle of the snare. Also, my bass drum was resting on the rim and the legs weren't doing anything. I moved the bass drum up, but then my toms were angled really funnily and they hit my ride cymbal so i put it back down. I'm going to completely reposition my drums sometime soon.

And i'm so going to bring my practice pad up to my drums to jam on it.

Didnt get anything for my birthday. Im pretty satisfied equipment wise.

I start on the 16th. Earliest in Colorado. We get a shitload of snowdays though.

trysthedrummer 07-20-2006 12:54 PM

I've just recently got a Creative Zen vision:m. Really nice, at last I have thousands of songs in my pocket.

Janeway 07-20-2006 12:57 PM

How much storage and how much did you pay?

The Vision:M is the one I'll probably get if I've got enough money.
Now that I've figured out how to download/rip DVDs, I can see the value in a video playback mp3 player.

Edit: No. Why?

JBJ 07-20-2006 01:00 PM

just wondering. you're like the second person i've seen on mx who lives in el paso.

Janeway 07-20-2006 01:05 PM

I live in New York.

Last week I was located in Northern Ireland. A week before that I lived in Seville Spain.
Rotating locations.

JBJ 07-20-2006 01:07 PM

oh :'(

Janeway 07-20-2006 01:08 PM

Aw. I'm sorry.

I paid £189 here in the uk, which is about $250 Us or round about?. It's got 30 gigs, slightly thicker that the Video iPod, but the screen is absolutely brilliant.

To be able to put the software on you'll need xp, which is a bit stupid.

You can put tonnes of films on if you want, I've mostly got music videos, a load of pictures stored on, and about 7 gigs of music on so far. Steadily building up.

Anything else you want to know?

Edit: and the battery life is brilliant, that's if you charge it for the recommened 5 - 6 hours first off.
