I'm taking the minimum number of classes for the 'advanced' diploma. I really don't care about 'over-achieving' in high school. 23.5 credits, and I'm done.

Juniors and seniors at my school can leave if they don't have a class.
Wow we need like 30 credits in my school, but we only have 8 classes a year.

We can only have spare periods as a senior.

I think the only reason I like going back is because I fixed issues with one of my best friend's so it's cool because I see her a lot. While during the summer we didn't hang out because we got into some huge lame fight. Even though she lives down the street.

Come to think of it, the novelty is wearing off right now.
See edit. ^

I'll have 6 - 7 free next year. All I'll be taking is English, Gym, and History, but they won't let me take them this year, and graduate early, I don't think.
A friend of mine who's a junior is graduating this year. What a douche.

Ha, we only had to take gym firs two years.

I have to take an english and a math course all four years, regardless of credits, I think. There's a minimum number of acedemics I need to take senior year and a credit system to boot. Pretty lame.

I would have ditched spanish this year in favor of another study, or a weird thing like Media Awareness, programming, or a robotics and engineering class. that would have been cool, but those ****ing colleges like three years, argh!

I actually like school. I really do think history and chemistry is interesting, and some discussions are fun that we have in english. Spanish is a waste and math is beyond me, but if it wasn't for homework, I really wouldn't mind school at all.

I already took my three years of Spanish.

We only need 3 math and 3 science. I took a high school math and science in 8th grade, so I'm done with both, but I'm taking one more year of math, because, apparently, you need 23.5 credits to get an 'advanced' diploma, but only 22.5 classes are required. The last credit can be anything.

I liked Chem a lot, but absolutely hate history. I liked Spanish a lot too, but just because it was incredibly easy for me. I got a 100 on the Spanish 3 final last year.

I love history and english.

When I go to college I want to major in some sort of english program.

We only had to take gym once, but I had to twice because I refuse to take music again at my school, and I'm not taking a business course with a bunch of 13 year olds.

My school has some odd requirements for classes.

I'm in spanish IV, because I took spanish I in middle school. Unfortunatly that doesn't count. I really should have taken spanish one in high school again and just coasted the whole year, and then taken the other classes. Nothing would have changed except my workload.

I don't think taking high school classes was an option for me. Maybe it was, I dunno. I only became smart last summer. Seriously.

History has been the absolute best subject for my three years. Mostly because I've been lucky and gotten great teachers.

Which makes me think that maybe the reason why I hate math so much is because I've had really aweful teachers.
I love history and english.
I had an amazing english teacher freshman year, but not second. This year I'm taking honors, and I'm in a class with all my smart friends that I usually don't get to see. That makes up for the crazy lesbian teacher.

I still hate poetry with a passion, though.

And the obligitory visual type presentation we have to make once a year. I'm cool with reaserch papers, but if I have to cut a picture out of another ****ing magazine I'm going to kill someone.

My school requires an independant/family living course, a 'practical art' (keyboarding, usually), a fine art (music, ceramics, studio in art, etc.), 4 years of gym, 2 of health, and a computer class, on top of the regular academics.

I took Spanish I over the course of 7th and 8th grade, and got a credit for it. I also took Algebra and Earth Science in 8th gradem which both counted as credits as well.

I don't like history, because it can be boring in a lot of cases, and it requires a lot of reading and writing, which I don't really like (I hate english as well). I prefer math and science, because it's more about problem solving, unlike english and history, which are all about memorization and writing.

We have a speaking/visual presentaion every year in english. I hate it, because I'm pretty much terrified of public speaking. I hardly say a word to anyone when I'm in school, let alone speak in front of an entire class.

Last year, we had to recite 20 lines of our choice from a Shakespeare play in my english class. I was so nervous, I requested to do it privately, instead of in front of the class.

I enjoy poetry when I get to choose the subject. My english teacher generally likes my writing. I've had two different teachers in three years and they both were pretty good.

Visual presentations are a joke so I make up for them by somehow incorperating music into them to make them a tad more fun.

I actually do well going in front of classes because for some reason when I'm in an actual class people respect me tons. Even my teachers have said it :/

BridgeToSolace 09-10-2006 01:16 AM

Your school has a bad history coriculum (/butchered word), then. We discuss a lot more than we memorize.

Math is terrible because it's meaningless. "Solve x = -b +/- the square root of b^2 - 4ac devided by 2"

Uh...no. Why the **** does it matter what x equals? It's just a damn number. no cares.

History has consequences, though. History shapes the present, and it's interesting to know how we became what we are today.

Ancient history is retarded and boring, though. Modern history is cool.

My school has a terrible music program. It's one class, and it's only concert band instruments..

For some reason though last year I had to present something, and I was really nervous about it and not feeling too great, and the whole time I felt like I was going to burst into tears and I really don't know why. That's why I was nervous though, because I'm sure everyone else could hear it in my voice too.

If you get a good teacher they'll usually let you do it privately, I don' think it's fair that people should have to do something they're really uncomfortable with.

I apologize if this is a double post but MX is going super slow for me for some reason so I'm going to go to bed. My mom's drunken antics have ended and her friend's just left so I should be good to sleep.

Later Brian, Jon.

I wrote a song for biology class last year. Brought my grade for a b+ to an A.

Cells!
Have Organelles!

etc.

It was a ska song, too.

I have not problem talking in front of people. I'm vocal in class.

We discuss a lot, but when it comes down to tests and such, you either know it or you don't. There's not really a way to figure it out.

Math is boring, and overall pointless, butt I'm good at it, so I'm okay with it.

I like current events and modern history, but we don't spend much time on it. I don't care about anything that happened before my lifetime. Especially 5000 years before my lifetime.
We discuss a lot, but when it comes down to tests and such, you either know it or you don't. There's not really a way to figure it out.
I was always good at reading, so I could usually just read it in the text book, not study, and get good grades as long as I always paid attention in class and took notes.
I like current events and modern history, but we don't spend much time on it. I don't care about anything that happened before my lifetime. Especially 5000 years before my lifetime.
Freshman year we did about Everything before 1800's. Last year we did Late 1700's to 1950, this year we're doing the rest of it.

Anything within a hundred years is modern history, as far as I'm conserned, and the connections between those events and current events are really interesting.

I'm totally going to AP pysch next year.

I wish we did it that way.

We do two years of Global History (everything but the US), which covers everything from ancient civilizations to modern day.

This year I'm taking US history, which will be okay once we get to the modern day part of it.

Eliminator 09-10-2006 01:35 AM

this is my second year of world history in high school

yeah i failed it last year :(

BridgeToSolace 09-10-2006 01:35 AM

Well, last year was basically European history, since everything interesting that that happened until about 100 years ago was pretty much all Europe.

I dig Japenese history too. And Japanese culture too. Oh man, I'm a japanerd.

Eliminator 09-10-2006 01:37 AM

you just got JAPAN'D

Puma 09-10-2006 01:59 AM

Anyone know why I keep getting signed out, and how I can fix it? It's really killing my buzz.

MattSharpIsCool 09-10-2006 02:11 AM

I dont think you can fix it. Its been driving me nuts. But, being the trooper I am, I suck it up and keep going.

So I just found out I cant go to The Who concert on October 10. You cant buy a general admission ticket, all they have is some stupid "package" with crappy seats and some goodies, for $350.

/me listens to "Magic Bus" in sorrow

Puma 09-10-2006 02:30 AM

Admirable of you Seth, hahahaha. I haven't talked to you in ages. How ya been mon?

MattSharpIsCool 09-10-2006 02:40 AM

I've been doing alright. I have an interview for a "new" job tomorrow, so hopefully I get that. Been going to concerts and the such, thats about as exciting as it gets. What about you?

BridgeToSolace 09-10-2006 02:44 AM

Gratuitous masturbation, mostly.

Well its the same company and same position, just a new store. So its sort of new, but not really.

Speaking of rape, I was down at the local Y the other day, watching the weekly bunny fights, when one of the regulars down there started raping the shit out of Tinkerbell, the chimpanzee that hangs out down there taking bets. It was awful.

Oh nice. What will you be doing?

And when you say raping, do you mean raped as in, he beat the crap out of the chimp, and owned him. Or he raped it as in, literally, sexually molested the monkey? Because if the latter... that's weird.
