yeah...they might get anal and want some form of photo ID too though

Win A Rabbit 02-11-2008 08:59 PM

bars need photo id

tbh my 19th birthday i worked and didn't tell anyone and then my friends came and wanted to do something so we went to the casino but i don't gamble so they just lost a bunch of money and i walked around.

birthdays are overrated.

Panopticon 02-11-2008 08:59 PM

well all i have is a high school student card from like grade 10 or 11 =/ and its hardly ID...its a crappily laminated piece of paper=/.

bobby__johnny 02-11-2008 09:01 PM

besides...it'd be a moot point (in NB anyway)

liquor stores close at 10pm, and bars are hurtin on monday nights.

Seafroggys 02-11-2008 09:03 PM

Oh yeah, 19 in Canada. Fun times.

So completely honest guys; if I was to release a 37 minute album (considering its high quality made and stuff) how many of you would buy it?

Panopticon 02-11-2008 09:03 PM

really i just wanna be able to buy smokes and i wanna try one of those delicious smelling cigars. I don't even really care about drinking.

bobby__johnny 02-11-2008 09:05 PM

Seafroggys 02-11-2008 09:05 PM
guys i wrote a pop rock song
I've been finding myself doing that recently. The last 5 songs I wrote, 2-3 of them are quite poppy and indie-ish. What hath become of my prog/hard-rock roots?

Dark Mediocre 02-11-2008 09:12 PM

no listen to it

Seafroggys 02-11-2008 09:15 PM

sounds like video game music

(the same thing everybody tells me when I try and upload my Midis)

Panopticon 02-11-2008 09:18 PM

yea...idk it's not like its blatantly obvious

Win A Rabbit 02-11-2008 09:20 PM

My boss just called me because she couldn't understand the tuner I lent her and thought the 1E 2B etc, started at the thickest string and got higher.

So instead of EADGBE it was EBGDAE. She was like "umm this sounds weird, and some strings are way tighter than others."

I'm probably gonna get tested this week, but nothing has happened since then that might relate to anything.

GF had a test as well, though has yet to hear back.

fishbulb 02-11-2008 10:39 PM

Super Smash Brothers Brawl rocks.

It's hard to navigate through the menus since i don't know Japanese, though.
So completely honest guys; if I was to release a 37 minute album (considering its high quality made and stuff) how many of you would buy it?
How many tracks?

Seafroggys 02-11-2008 11:36 PM

errr.....its one 37 minute long song, I'll probably divide it up into several tracks for indexing purposes....maybe not. We'll see.

Maggot Dream 02-12-2008 12:35 AM

To answer your question, I would probably download it. If I liked it alot, I would consider donating or something.

Win A Rabbit 02-12-2008 12:35 AM

i'm not a huge fan of one-song albums. i like picking tracks without fastforwarding alot of the time.

Seafroggys 02-12-2008 12:45 AM

Its a multi-movement album, I'll probably have tracks for each movement but its a continous album, kinda like Dark Side of the Moon but with a bit more continuity.

Win A Rabbit 02-12-2008 12:56 AM

i'm all for "continuous" albums where it's all coming from the same place like it is one song, i just rarely sit down and listen to 37 minutes of the same record in a row. i'd prefer if it was broken up into movements, etc.

just my 2 cents. you've got total control over it though. :)

Maggot Dream 02-12-2008 01:01 AM

There are some great albums all in one or two tracks out there, but they can be tough to listen to. Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians" is great, and Shawn Lane has done a couple like that, but otherwise I can't sit through that kind of album either. Oh, and Sleep did an album all in one track, but it's like listening to an hour of guitar amp fuzz over some drums.

I'd for sure break it up if I was you. I'd definitely be willing to listen to it either way, though.

Seafroggys 02-12-2008 01:06 AM

Hey thanks guys for the support!

I'm gonna be releasing this commercially, and just want to see how big my potential market is going to be. Yes, its gonna be a small time release (trust me I've got no delusions) but still.

Yeah Thick as a Brick is an awesome example of a one song album for me. I can just sit through it and enjoy without squirming!

Chippy569 02-12-2008 10:17 AM

flight of the conchords won best comedy album of the year @ the grammys
