NEWS FLASH! REALLY GOOD BAND WAS ON HEADBANGER'S BALL FOR A CHANGE!
They played Rage Against the Machine's "Freedom," which was indeed a good song. They also had some good VIDEOS, but not necessarily songs. There was this band called Diecast who had possibly the only truly silly video to go with that kind of music (newer heavy/thrash metal). There was also an American Head Charge video with a UFC fighter getting pissed off, so that's cool too.
ARE YOU SERIOUS! HURRAH! MTV DIDN'T SUCK FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES. |
Headbangers Ball has been pretty decent tonight. It was cool that they had the AHC tribute.
The Soulfly cover of Roots Bloody Roots is pretty decent. The singer looks like Jack Black sometimes, depending on the light (and with a lot of facial hair). |
If only I had a TV...
Wait no I hate TV nevermind. :) |

And yes, in case Eleventeen was wondering, there was a Korn video too. For "Blind."
|
Doubt it. RATM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>audioslave

Yes, that was me. :D
I heart Porcupine Tree. What was your verdict on the show? Can you go, or not? I got some last night |
I don't know. I guess i'm gonna go to the venue and see if I can sneak my way in. I convinced my mom to go with me.
omgz jake got laidz*.. details plz. *by the fucking hottest chick ever LMAO
No details for you. :smash: |
Question to all who know:
What genre are The Faint? On Sputnik, they're labeled as "industrial metal," and that has to be a joke. Is there a more accurate classification? |
The Faint are defintely not industrial metal, because they are emo. They went on tour with Bright Eyes.
http://www.thefaint.com
I can't stand Bright Eyes. That faggot was on Austin City Limits when it was supposed to be Los Lobos  Needless to say, I was pissed. |
The Faint are not emo, and neither are Bright Eyes.
|
But guys always tell the details. I don't see you as being the respectable kinda guy.
I actually am sometimes. :D |
The songs I heard are extremely emo.
You're extremely emo >:| |
Star Wars is on one of the local L.A. Stations.
I saw the trailer to Revenge of the Sith. Looks like I'll be saving some money to check that one out. I hope it's better than Attack of the Clones. I can't wait for next weekend though (Family Guy!!!!11111) lol... .end |
It would be nice if someone would tell me what genre they are
/will delete when question is answered
Folk-Jazz fusion, with roots in bluegrass and pornogrind. |
Ease up with the content-less posts, everyone :-/
The songs I heard are extremely emo.
Well..do you know what emo is? If you're thinking of lots of acoustic playing, 'whiny' vocals and sad, depression-fuelled lyrics, chances are you're wrong. If you mean real emo, then maybe I've just heard the wrong songs by them. |

Bright Eyes are what has become considered Emo, unfortunately, there is no debate of it, because people will not listen.
|
At least I say I'll delete my posts, which I do, even though they still show up for you, Bartender
Am I supposed to take Otherside's post seriously, or is he taking a shot at me for saying pornogrind is an actual genre a couple months ago? /will delete this post too
I couldn't resist :upset: But no, I've never heard of them before, sorry :\ |
I couldn't resist :upset:
But no, I've never heard of them before, sorry :\
Aside from like one or two songs, niether have I. |
Pornogrind sounds like an odd genre.
o.o;;; |
Bright Eyes are what has become considered Emo, unfortunately, there is no debate of it, because people will not listen.
There's no point in just leaving it at that, though. Lots of people might think (wrongly) that they're emo, but they're wrong. Lots of people think Cradle of Filth are black metal, or that Lamb of God are death metal, or whatever, but what the majority thinks isn't necessarily the truth. Emo means "emotional hardcore"..until someone can point out the hardcore in Bright Eyes' (or Taking Back Sunday's, or Dashboard Confessional's, or whoever's) sound, there really is no argument :) |
Pornogrind takes what goregrind does and adds some extremely disturbing sexual acts into it, stripping it of all signs of decent musicianship as well. Gut and Intense Hammer Rage are prime examples of pornogrind.
|
If you're music falls into a genre titled "pornogrind", I think it's a good sign that you should quit music and never try it again.
|

sounds pretty sick. |
sounds pretty sick.

i learn that girls were cool, when i smoke weed
What does that mean? |
I can't stand Bright Eyes. That faggot was on Austin City Limits when it was supposed to be Los Lobos  Needless to say, I was pissed.
I'm seeing Los Lobos with my parents (eh, they offered to take me, I'm not going to say no). I've never heard them though really, are they any good? Like I know they're Latin rock, so I think it should be cool enough..kinda like Santana minus an awesome guitarist yes? |
Well, the content goes beyond the lyrics themselves, too. Here's a snippet from an article:
Intense Hammer Rage had their albums seized after being produced in America. The album cover of their latest CD features a man having sex with a naked, apparently rotten, headless female.
And basically the same article:
When Tasmanian band Intense Hammer Rage sent their latest album to be manufactured by a US record label they had no idea they'd be prosecuted for importing the finished product back into Australia. About 200 copies of the CD, Avagoyamugs were seized by Customs officers because of the extreme cover artwork and printed lyrics about child pornography and other illegal acts. The three members of the band were each fined $500 under the Customs Act in the Burnie Magistrates Court. Further charges of possessing a child abuse product and selling an objectionable unclassified publication are yet to be heard. In sentencing, Magistrate Tim Hill said he was not punishing the men for the content of the CDs, but merely for their importation. He could find no Australian precedent for importing products like this and did not to impose the maximum $5000 penalty because the men had not profited from the imported CDs. Singer Alan Byard says his band does "goregrind" where, "the music is going back to jazz roots, music for musicians with weird time signatures."
But yeah, it's pornogrind, basically a gross spinoff of goregrind. |
So...since it's approaching summer, this means concert season is coming up. I was thinking of making an Official concert thread, where the first post would have a list of bands and links to the dates, and the other posts could be reviews. THis would require a bit of mod work as posts listing new tours would be deleted once they were added, but before I ask it in suggestions, do you guys think it'd be a good idea/work?

You'd have to divide it into different regions, IE: North America, England, Australia, but it would work in theory. Maybe instead of deleting the dates you could just edit this with a bolded "Over" or something. Also, maybe concert reviews? |
What does that mean?
it's mean that i was a shy guy with the girls, but when i smoked weed my confidence went up and about a week i score with two diferent chicks. |

Good point. Thanks for pointing that out. I meant deleting posts once the dates were added in the first post to keep the thread clean, while other posts besides the first would be concert reviews. |

Ahhh right. That would work out well, I think.
it's mean that i was a shy guy with the girls, but when i smoked weed my confidence went up and about a week i score with two diferent chicks.
Oh. Cool :thumb: |
Sounds like a good idea.
I'll look forward to it if it goes into effect. \m/ I'm watching Cheaters right now though...such a sad show but I can't get how these guys and girls can do this to their own lovers x.x |
To answer your questions that I've been so slow getting around to:
-I got it from too much work at the keyboard. In addition to my essays, I've been working on a bunch of short stories as well. -It's not permanent. I bought a wrist brace at Target, so in a few days it will get better. -Yes, I play guitar. But I can't for the next week with the brace on. Trying to strum causes me unbearable agony. Basically, my wrist can only comfortably turn about 20 degrees in any direction. -My friends have their own problems to worry about. I'm on my own. This is going to be a rough week. |
You know, there is no better college roommate than the benevolent stoner, I think.
And I am convinced that I will never meet another girl better than my current girlfriend. |
OhgodOhgodOhgodOhgod. Cryptopsy was so good.
