I am tomorrow, or some future day, what I establish today. I am today what I established yesterday or some previous day.

- James Joyce

I love modernist writing.
Minutemen?
yeah

and it's at the end of a sonic youth song too, which has mike watt on it

TojesDolan 11-22-2006 04:51 PM

For instance, I like Bright Eyes.

Eliminator 11-22-2006 06:00 PM

What?

Migraines 11-22-2006 06:52 PM

whoa Tojes, no more acid for you

TojesDolan 11-22-2006 07:08 PM

It was going to be a comment for Burton but he's getting sick of me mentioning him all the time. So no.

Hi Mischa!

Surf 11-23-2006 08:34 AM

Quick new topic:

Minus the Bear are playing here next week. I have never heard anything by them, but my friend wants to go - is it worth it?

I already have tickets for the Quantic Soul Orchestra and Bloc Party, so I'm not desperately in need of a gig to go to.

S&L - you decide my Monday night activities gogogogogogo

TojesDolan 11-23-2006 11:41 AM

I like Minus The Bear, but Bloc Party has some nice beats.

If you already have tickets, use them.

Surf 11-23-2006 11:52 AM

I don't have tickets yet.

To further add to the conundrum, there are two more factors I must consider

1. I could just as easily go to the pub with the rest of my mates and get very drunk = good time.

2. I'm slowly running out of cash. I'd buy drink there, so money I could save by drinking elsewhere (and in a student pub) would be helpful alround.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards the pub, for the lolz.

TojesDolan 11-23-2006 12:05 PM

The pub.

Saving money = Great.

I didn't go to see Slayer because I was limited cashwise, and here I am happy and still broke.

=/

Surf 11-23-2006 12:19 PM

Student loan ftw.

And pub it is. I'll tell her the internet told me to go, so I had to.

TojesDolan 11-23-2006 01:37 PM

No

TOJES TOLD YOU TO AND HE KNOWS WHAT'S BEST FOR YUO YEAH

A_Perfect_Sonnet 11-23-2006 01:56 PM

Bloc Party > Minus the Bear.

Surf 11-23-2006 02:05 PM

Tojes: I'm sure she'll understand, you DO know what's best for me.
She just doesn't have a high enough postcount.

APS: If that's correct then I made the right decision.

TojesDolan 11-23-2006 02:18 PM

I respect low postcounts!

I just don't respect bad attitude at the internets.

Minus The Flair 11-23-2006 04:45 PM
Bloc Party > Minus the Bear.
eww.

Surf, I would get you books, as a christmas present and thankyou for all your crits you give everyone, but I'm on thin ice with the manager after I thought she was offering me sex but I was wrong and then some stuff happened, courts and shit, dead bodies, it's all pretty complicated y'know.

RunAmokRampant 11-23-2006 04:53 PM

That does sound complicated . . . and messy.

Low postcounts ftw.

i am the robots 11-23-2006 07:23 PM

Seriously, I'm not much a fan of Minus the Bear.

and Surf is really helping keep this section alive.

and it be my birfday son!

That sounds awkward. Maybe lay low for a while you know. But make sure its somewhere with internets.

Happy Birthday yesterday. Its my birthday next week which is nice. 19 long and merry years. No present, have the miniscule amout of rep that I can muster.

TojesDolan 11-23-2006 11:17 PM

Hey I bring up conversation too!

TO: Eleventeen

TheBigMachine 11-24-2006 03:31 AM

So this weekend will be wild. There is three parties tonight, no, four, two tomorrow, and sunday is rest day. :\

RunAmokRampant 11-24-2006 06:52 AM

Didn't know they had parties that far north. lol j/k

TheBigMachine 11-24-2006 07:13 AM

Haha, true that, they're hardly parties...more like social gatherings in which much alcohol will be consumed, and many drugs shall be taken, along with a bit of sexual innuendo. Some of the good ones are more like parties though...

Surf 11-24-2006 07:14 AM
Didn't know they had parties that far north. lol j/k
*south

TheBigMachine 11-24-2006 07:18 AM

*north.

Melbourne is closer to Antarctica than where I live.

Surf 11-24-2006 07:19 AM

But its so much more south from where I live.

Narcissistic geography ftw

slack 11-24-2006 02:36 PM

Skelliconnection came in the mail today, which makes me one very, very happy boy.

TojesDolan 11-24-2006 03:58 PM

I adore when people make comments on completely random things without making a clear quote of what they are talking about.

new Chad VanGallen record.

TojesDolan 11-24-2006 04:14 PM

I should listen to more music in order to be in the correct vibe for this forum.

slack 11-24-2006 04:55 PM

Tojes, quit being a bitch.

i am the robots 11-24-2006 05:28 PM

Yeah, Mexican on his period ITT.

TojesDolan 11-24-2006 06:40 PM

I was just saying when you guys post about music and literature and poetry I have to step back because I'm not as literate or musically inspired as most of you.

=o

And that was an honest comment. :(

slack 11-24-2006 07:49 PM

Well, get educated. :p

GRRR

Surf 11-24-2006 08:00 PM

GRRR indeed.

I'm not very musically educated to be honest...
