you wouldn't be a dumb ***, but, IMO the regular A Custom(which is medium weight) sounds alot better than the projection(which i belive is a heavier weight)
|
I have a K Custom fast crash and an AAXplosion (almost the equivalent to the projection crash) and they go really well together
|
What is a good ride to pair with a 22" K Heavy Ride. I have a 20" crash so i DONT want a crash-ride, something with a bit of wash but complex. Not brand specific, i don't mind.
I've decided; I went to a music store that stocks alot of cymbals and bashed around on about forty-five. I'm going to shortly buy the 20" HHX Legacy Ozone Ride as my second ride. Beautiful, almost china-like cinnamon-toned cymbal. Complex and tasty with an edge of sweetness running through it. I'm in love, oh yes, i'm in love. |
Nice choice Aaron.
My drum dude has the Ozone Crash and it is oh so oh so nice. |
I looked at the Ozone Crash, and if they did a traditionally finished hand-hammered version I'd go it. I think it'd improve it muchly.
|
Do you?
I wouldn't know... |
Make it trashier.
|
im getting another crash, size 18,
what crash can go along with my 18" K custom dark and 16" Avedis im thinking of 18" A custom i play funk/rock thanks. others? pls specify:naughty: :naughty: |

i believe regular A customs are thin A custom A custom projection A custom mediums |
Aye it goes:
Fast crash (paper thin) Custom crash (thin) Projection crash (medium thin) Medium crash (medium) |
really? hmm, i would have expected the projection crash to be heavier
|
Nope projections are the same weight as AAXplosions

CIE Vintage perhaps too as well.
|
was thinking that too, but rock needs a clearer sound. still would be cool for an older style of funk [ie meters]
|
18" K Custom Fast Crash
why is that? models here are very limited. they sell only some of K customs,Acustoms,A,zbt, zxt, aax,aa,HHX, |
Well its not completely clean and crisp, so it wont stand out, but its abit louder and brighter than the others but not by too much to be out of place. think HHX
|
Yeah, but it being 18 might make it project more, and I don't know.
They're just amazing cymbals so heh... |
i have a 16 and 18" HHX stage crash and a 20" AAX stage crash
i need something that will make a smooth transition between the 18 and 20 thanks! |
18" HHX power crash?
Brighter and more powerful than the HHX stage but less so than the AAX |
i have a 16 and 18" HHX stage crash and a 20" AAX stage crash

19" HAX stage crash?
|
Yeah.
I was wondering how I could combine the two.. I realised after 4 seconds that it wasn't worth it. I'm glad you spent some time and energy into it though. |
Time? Theres a forum called Haxed. It took no time
To "hax" something in my town is to steal it. |
Oh.
Is Post 4388 supposed to be a joke? Or humourous? I didn't get it. |
Nope its a true story.
Like i said, to Hax something is to steal it. Like if i stole your pen i'd say "haxed" |
Ahh.
|
is it true that the newer paistes tend to crack more often than the older ones??
|
is it true that the newer paistes tend to crack more often than the older ones??
i sure hope not, i just bought one! |
ok, paiste sigs, tell me bout them, durability, sound, everything you guys know/feel about them
|
I think the paiste sig crashes are some of the best out there... sound wise, im sure the durability would be fine.
|
i've actually heard the durability isn't totally amazing with paistes in general, but i'm sure as long as proper technique and wooden sticks are involved they will be fine
|
Recommendatin of AAX Hi-Hats?
|
Stage hats
|
I'm looking for a good crash...I'm embarking on a shoegaze musical adventure and need a new crash fo sho. It pretty much just has to fit in with a 2002 ride...I'm replacing everything else. And do well in a possibly not-very-well miced, very small venue. Kthx.
|
...maybe a 2oo2 crash? that would definatly fit with a 2oo2 ride. if you don't have that kind of cash, i'd say AAX stage crash or AAXplosion would be good.
|
I've got a 20" K Custom Ride and 14" New Beats. I'm looking for a crash (preferably 18 or bigger) that will compliment that set up, because my 16 XS20 Med thin crash isnt quite doing it for me. i like the paiste sig 18 fast crash, any other suggestions? thanks.
|
that sounds good, or maybe an A/A Custom/K custom, possibly and AAX Dark Crash, or maybe a nice Meinl Byzance medium crash
|

I'd get an 18" K Crash-Ride if you want to keep the 16" in there, if not an 18" HHX Power Crash or Stage Crash |
18" A Custom.
Or AAXplosion |
