Something that has somewhat confounded me:

People were so anal about taking apart every last bit of obscurely irrelivent innuendo present in Beatles album covers (for example,t he ones that decided that the Abbey Road cover indicated Paul's passing, etc) missed the back cover of McCartney's "Ram".

looky:

There are two pictures of beetles involved in some sort of mating activity, which is more obvious innuendo than Paul's lack of footwear on Abbey Road. How come nobody came up with any crazy stories about this?

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-24-2005 07:33 PM

Wow, the Beatles cards are worth as lot less than i thought, the 3rd set is going for 35 dollars, and my friends only got like 30 of the second set

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2005 11:33 PM

Hehe, Beatles cards. Only in the 60s could a band have personalized cards :)

Maybe no one cared anymore by that point :p

I find the Sgt. Peppers cover much more creepy than that Abbey Road one (open palm over Paul's head, design resembling a car in flames while a girl watches, Paul only one facing directly forward, Set up to look like a funeral), I'm sure we've all looked this up before though.

-Blackbird
- I Will
- Drive my Car

Hey Jude was so fun, The end was amazing. Live and Let Die was another song that he did great. He did every song great, but those 2 stuck out to me.

Whooo I can't wait!

The best (worst) part is that I have to give a speech in front of the entire school to announce my candidacy for the School Representative to the Board of Education the morning after the concert. And I will be getting back from this thing around 3am and getting up to go to school aroung 6am

I should probably get writing that speech. Maybe I will go up on the stage, say "screw it" and start tap dancing

Yes. Do that. Or just make up the speech on the spot. Or tell them about how awesome Paul McCartney is. When are you seeing him?

October 8th for me. Can't wait!

Day after tomorrow (Tuesday) :D :D

It might also be more productive to express my feeling for the board of education through a particularly emotional harmonica solo in D

GeorgeHarrison 09-25-2005 04:25 PM

i wish on those set lists he would have played a song called "Friends To go" if you have heard his latest album youll know what im talking about.

If you havent heard his new album, Go......get.,...it....now......buy...buy...buy. It is amazing.

GeorgeHarrison 09-25-2005 04:27 PM

P.s those set lists made me jizz myself. I <3 Helter skelter.
I<3 She came in through the Bathroom window.

(Fantastic Bass)

(I think it was done by Mr. Harrison.)

(I could be wrong.)

robo2448 09-25-2005 04:34 PM

I'm pretty sure George did do bass on Helter Skelter.

GeorgeHarrison 09-25-2005 04:46 PM

That oes for She came in through the bathroom window as well.
I think.

The Clash 09-25-2005 05:52 PM

Mccartney also played flaming pie

The Clash 09-25-2005 05:54 PM

Nahhhh Na Na NA NA NA NAAAA
NA NA NA NAAAAAAA HEY JUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^Highlight of the concert^

You sing that forever and Paul has all the guys go then all the ladys go then he has just the balcony go and then the floor go and its really awesome!

Relmar 09-25-2005 06:26 PM

I just listened to the White Album for the first time. I've listened to all their catalogue up to this point, and only Let it Be and Abbey Road remain.

WOW!!

The tracks are exceptional, especially on the first disk. While My Guitar Gently Weeps brought me to tears... this is perhaps the best song ever written. This definately puts Sgt. Pepper to shame.

I can't wait.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The White Album is overrated. I don't know, there must be something there, but it just doesn't do it for me.

Man, wait until Abbey Road. It's interesting to see first reactions to Beatles music.

I've usually loved every Beatles cd the first time I've heard it. The only one of theirs that I didn't love right away was Revolver. Well I still loved it but I didn't think it was as good as Rubber Soul. I think it would be safe to say that Revolver's grown on me. Now it's one of my favorite cds ever.

MBS 09-25-2005 07:15 PM
Good Day, sunshine
That's a Beatles song off of Revolver :).

But the setlist looks great, I cannot wait.

GeorgeHarrison 09-25-2005 07:42 PM

A strange song im looking forward to see him play is "I will". The 2nd to last song on TWA disc 1. I have always loved this song. So quiet, so peaceful. And at only 1:46 long, I always find myself putting it on repeat and listening to it 5 or 6 times. I've always liked how Paul decided not to use a bass for the song because it was too loud, and instead used his voice.

As For The white album, I love it. It is by far my favorite Beatles Album. Tons of critics complain about it being 2 albums, therfore being too long. It is my dream in life to find each one of these people and slap them with such a large force that it kills them. The fact that the album is 2 discs adds to its greatness. There is so much information, so much art, that it is impossible to find something that you dont like. I will admit however, there are some songs that i skip over (Wild Honey Pie, Revolution 9) but still, you have to look at the big picture. There are so many classics.

Thats it for me Listen, learn.

rockinbass17 09-25-2005 08:17 PM

I love The White Album, too. I think I know why I do- after their full blown psychadellia of SPLHCB and MMT, they kind of went back to their rock and roll style of music, but at this point they were much more musically comptent. And there was still a tint of experimental studio stuff.

Relmar 09-25-2005 08:31 PM

Same, Revovler took some time to adjust to and I still wouldn't call it a great album, but it does have some great songs. The only other album I could think of that I didn't quite enjoy was With the Beatles, their second UK LP.

With all their stuff its usually icky the first listen, its the 2-3rd you really begin to like it. The only exceptions to this were A Hard Day's Night and Sgt. Pepper's.

But damn, I really dig the White Album... I was kinda afraid it would be one of those half-*** pot albums. Great, great, music. And yes, I've heard a lot about Abbey Road so I'm definately looking forward to it in like 2 months.

MBS 09-25-2005 08:38 PM

We covered A Hard Day's Night today in band practice.

Krabsworth 09-25-2005 08:42 PM

Last night, my neighbor had a party, and she had this screamo band playing, and after their crappy guitar playing/whiny screaming act, they butchered some Beatles songs :(

Seafroggys 09-25-2005 09:16 PM

You should get Abbey Road, the Beatles' best AND the best of all time.

DeusExMachina 09-25-2005 10:21 PM

Abbey Road is quite possibly my favorite album of all time.

mymintylife 09-25-2005 10:33 PM

Im a left handed bassist like Paul and did u know that when u play revolution number 9 backwards "number 9" presumably sounds like "turn me on dead man" and at the end of Im So Tired u hear john saying "Paul is a dead man miss him miss him" (if played backwards.

DeusExMachina 09-25-2005 10:37 PM

Welcome to the forums.

Yes, we know about the backwards stuff. At least, I'm assuming everyone else knows as well.

Go left handedness! I'm a leftie too, but I play right handed.

mymintylife 09-25-2005 10:40 PM

yeah i used be real into all the "Paul is Dead" stuff, even though its not true. you dont hear anyone talk about magical mystery tour much anymore do u?

magicbus 09-25-2005 10:47 PM

No, it doesn't get talked about much around here. I think it's a great album, and I love every song on it. I'm not crazy about "The Fool On The Hill", but every other song is awesome.

blue3 09-25-2005 11:20 PM

Magical Mystery Tour is awesome. What's wrong with The Fool On The Hill? I like that song a lot.

Seafroggys 09-25-2005 11:23 PM

Actually MMT is mentioned quite a bit. Every other day someone's like "OMG MMT is like never mentioned, its truly underrated" and then everyone else agrees, its really funny

But yeah I agree I love MMT, Fool on the Hill, Strawberry Fields, Baby Your A Rich Man, Flying, all killer songs.

Leper 09-25-2005 11:33 PM

Does anyone other than myself have MMT on vinyl?

magicbus 09-25-2005 11:36 PM
Magical Mystery Tour is awesome. What's wrong with The Fool On The Hill? I like that song a lot.
I'm not saying it's bad, it's just the one that I don't mind skipping over sometimes.

blue3 09-25-2005 11:40 PM

Yeah alright.

And no, I don't have MMT on vinyl, I wish I did though.

Yay, 3000th post :)

Leper 09-25-2005 11:43 PM

Well it's got this story book inside with drawing and photos and it tells a story about a Magical Mystery Tour with the Beatles and a bunch of other people. It's actually really funny. A bit retarded, but funny.
