Comadre and The Blue Letter are playing a free show literally three blocks from my house. Soooooooooooooooo sick. Comadre is amazing, and The Blue Letter did a split with Me And Him Call It Us. A hella good screamo show in my area? Wow.

RetiredAt21 01-11-2007 07:45 AM

Dude, Comadre are f'ucking sweet. The Blue Letter was pretty tight, too.

whiteminority 01-11-2007 01:48 PM

Comadre are awesome.

RetiredAt21 01-11-2007 02:02 PM

I'm still in awe of Comadre's awesomeness.

That is f'ucking rad. Comadre rule.

Subvert_bassist 01-11-2007 04:27 PM

Tonight's gonna be nuts. It's gonna be that picture, but in a small coffee shop.

RetiredAt21 01-11-2007 05:35 PM

I hate the small coffee shop scene.

Subvert_bassist 01-11-2007 06:34 PM

But would you go to one to see a free Comadre show?

DaveToopes 01-11-2007 09:45 PM

I like coffee shops...

sry guys..

Subvert_bassist 01-11-2007 11:40 PM

I do, too. Show was nuts. Comadre and Graf Orlock is playing with us next summer in our vocalist's DIY venue, Burnt Ryan. The Blue Letter combined all their songs into one epic 20 minute screamo slash post rock song.

Our friends Tokyo Night Scare are playing with Thriller, The Blue Letter, and Me And Him Call It Us next month. Should be a sick show. TNS's myspace, if you care to listen:

Oh, and in the video on their page, that's our little shed-venue that Comadre's gonna play in.
But would you go to one to see a free Comadre show?
Yeah, I probably would. Comadre rule.

Times Ten 01-14-2007 03:44 PM
Sunn 0))) is a band I checked out and didn't find anything special about.
Yeah, I don't get them at all, and I dig doom metal and the like.

RetiredAt21 01-14-2007 04:56 PM

I think Sunn 0))) is pretty good. Definitely not the best in the doom genre or whatever, but they are still good.

Subvert_bassist 01-14-2007 05:02 PM

Check this show. I'm seeing This Bike, Defiance Ohio, and Comadre at some place in San Fran.

RetiredAt21 01-14-2007 05:08 PM
Check this show. I'm seeing This Bike, Defiance Ohio, and Comadre at some place in San Fran.
Nice. It'd be worth it just for Comadre in my opinion.
Check this show. I'm seeing This Bike, Defiance Ohio, and Comadre at some place in San Fran.
Word.

Subvert_bassist 01-14-2007 06:38 PM

It's such a random show, but it's a fantastic line up. Rumor has it that Ghost Mice might play a short set, too.

soundsoftheanimalkingdom 01-15-2007 07:06 AM

It is indeed Random because Comadre really doesn't seem like a band to play with those other two.

RetiredAt21 01-15-2007 12:09 PM

I was thinking the same thing.

RetiredAt21 01-18-2007 02:43 PM

www.myspace.com/thecountymedicalexaminers

I've been listening to these guys alot lately.

AIRIC 01-18-2007 03:51 PM

I got their new album off Metal Depot. It was okay. Wasn't a huge fan of it.

RetiredAt21 01-18-2007 07:41 PM

They are so cool!

whiteminority 01-18-2007 07:55 PM

One of the dudes is in his 50s.

RetiredAt21 01-18-2007 09:14 PM

Hahahaha, yeah I know. That is so f'ucking cool.

Subvert_bassist 01-22-2007 05:12 PM

Bump.

Screamo anyone? Raein, Pg.99, Saetia, Comadre, Funeral Diner, Waifle, Swing Kids, Song of Zarathustra, and Joshua Fit for Battle are all great.

DaveToopes 01-22-2007 05:40 PM

My favorite is City of Caterpillar.

Also:
Khayembii Communique
Mesa Verde
June Paik
Ampere
Circle Takes The Square
A Day In Black and White
Envy (Sometimes)
Hot Cross
I Have Dreams
In Tongues
Olive Tree
Love Like... Electrocution
Love Lost But Not Forgotten
Neil Perry (Sometimes)
Off Minor
Sailboats
Orchid
Staircase
Yaphet Kotto

word.

Subvert_bassist 01-22-2007 06:51 PM

I can't stand the guy from City of Caterpillar's voice. Therefore, I don't like City of Caterpillar. CTTS, Envy, Ampere, Neil Perry, Off Minor, Orchid, and Yaphet Kotto are all good, though. Envy's interludes are funny because they're in Japanese.

Times Ten 01-22-2007 07:19 PM

I hate the term "screamo" but I dig...

Ampere
Takaru
Kaospilot
Shikari
Raein
Gospel
Union of Uranus
Palatka
Saetia
Hot Cross (somewhat)
Dodewaard
A Light in The Attic
Dohrn
The Spirit of Versailles
Orchid
Pg. 99
Jerome's Dream
Heroin
I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism in Your Yearbook
Neil Perry
Love Like... Electrocution
Sinaloa

That is pretty much it. You guys listed some bands that I like but don't consider emo, such as Love Lost But Not Forgotten and Swing Kids.

Gnarmageddon 01-22-2007 07:57 PM

Damn. I love screamo but don't have enough. I'm going to start looking some of these bands up.

RetiredAt21 01-22-2007 09:27 PM

Jerome's Dream
Pg. 99
Kaospilot
Joshua Fit For Battle
Neil Perry
Comadre
Love Like...Electrocution
Orchid
Ampere
The Khayembii Communique
Yaphet Kotto
Swing Kids
Saetia

Those is my favorites.

AIRIC 01-22-2007 09:34 PM

Khayembii Communique is my favorite emo band followed by La Quiete

DaveToopes 01-22-2007 09:46 PM

La Quiete is pretty solid.

Really digging Mesa Verde and June Paik right now.

Subvert_bassist 01-22-2007 10:11 PM

Most everything yo guys have named that I hadn't heard of, I looked up, and it's almost all hella sick.

RetiredAt21 01-23-2007 09:22 AM

I'm not sure if they are screamo, but I also like I Have Dreams and You And I.

whiteminority 01-23-2007 09:26 AM

Damn you guys use the term screamo pretty loosely.

whiteminority 01-23-2007 09:27 AM

Check out:
Honeywell
Neil Perry
Hassan I Sabbah
Usurp Synapse
Encyclopedia of American Traitors
Wolves
Majority Rule
Waifle
Book of Dead Names
Jeromes Dream

Subvert_bassist 01-23-2007 04:20 PM

Anyone got some Encyclopedia of American Traitors they wanna send me? I only have the song Lineage, but that song is ****in' nuts, so I want more.

EDIT: Scratch that, I found their discog and their split with Orchid on slsk. They are super good, though.

DaveToopes 01-23-2007 04:42 PM

You guys should check Sailboats out. I only know of a 4 song demo but it's sick. Behind Trees is such a good song.

RetiredAt21 01-23-2007 07:38 PM

What kind of music is Sailboats?

Subvert_bassist 01-23-2007 07:52 PM

I've had that demo on my comp for a day or two now, and I haven't listened to it until now, Pretty sick.

They're kinda melodic screamo.
