WH is a blast to play. I can play it on guitar and piano.

Whoa whoa whoa... Welcome Home on a piano? I'd love to hear that! I remember hearing a piano cover of Delerium Trigger a while back that was amazing.

Yeah, 'tis fun. I need to work out the solo a bit though. Kinda go by ear on that.

About the GNs, I find them too confusing. Ok to look at, but the comics are so much cooler.

Fish 07-22-2006 11:40 PM
I don't care for the graphic novels.

"Welcome Home" is sweet action.
the newest one (old now) hurts my eyes.

guitar > piano

Justin: have you learned that cool little piano lick they have between some of their songs and at the beginning of the albums and stuff? I love how it sounds :smash:

Riziger 07-23-2006 12:28 AM

the graphic novels look awesome. the stuff in there just looks so amazing from what i've seen in the album "book".... I would kill for the GN but unfortunately its not sold here...

hmm i was wondering. is Coheed pop-punk....?

anyways i like all three albums really much as they all sound different and are equally good. but i think Good Apollo is my favourite maybe just by a little bit cause it was my first coheed.

overall fav song i think is Welcome Home.

Riziger 07-23-2006 12:37 AM

btw... wtf is up with sputnik and Login Problem...?

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 07-23-2006 12:13 PM

They changed the title of the thread...

Fish 07-23-2006 12:15 PM

yeah they changed the title of like, all the threads

and yeah, coheed and cambria are considered pop-punk, they are just a bit more on the dark/evil (ish) side, with their lyrics, and claudio's evil vocals.

cobert 07-23-2006 12:16 PM

I still dont think Coheed are. SSTB, sure, but definitely unique pop-punk. IKSOSE, yeah, pop-punk. Not good apollo though.

Fish 07-23-2006 12:19 PM

well personally, i dont consider them pop-punk either, and I never refer to them as pop-punk outside of this forum, because people go nazi on your ass here if you think differently from them.

True.

Yeah, well the melody part. Dunno the background really. Never tried figuring it out.

Fish 07-23-2006 12:35 PM

it's wicked cool. I can play, i think almost every coheed track. Not form start to finish, but a good amount do be able to claim i can play the song.

The only songs i can play start to finish without needing to check a tab or something are..

Devil In Jersey City
In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth
Crowing
Blood Red Summer
Favor House Atlantic
Light and the Glass (ftw)
Welcome Home

DJ Ducksauce 07-23-2006 12:38 PM

I haven't listened to Coheed a lot in a good while. I'm a bit rusty atm. I can play most of the songs above though.

Fish 07-23-2006 12:43 PM

those are just the ones i can play without needing a tab or anything, i have it all memorized. Their songs arent too hard.

DJ Ducksauce 07-23-2006 12:45 PM

Yeah, I don't listen to the other songs constantly enough or haven't looked them up to have them memorized. I love playing Delirium Trigger though. I love that little riff on the D strings.

Fish 07-23-2006 12:47 PM

yeah its wicked, when claudio sings during it on the live version it sounds so incredible.

DJ Ducksauce 07-23-2006 12:48 PM

Haha yeah, I used to watch that DVD so much.

Fish 07-23-2006 12:49 PM

yeah me too, i listen to the CD more instead, i havent watched the DVD as many times.

DJ Ducksauce 07-23-2006 12:52 PM

I lost the CD...:(

Fish 07-23-2006 03:13 PM

i think i know where it is.

TMA 07-23-2006 04:01 PM

I need to record and post some Coheed covers... that might make for good times.

Fish 07-23-2006 06:48 PM

yeah, i should have got someone to tape when my band played the light and the glass at a local show, it was pretty sweet.

DJ Ducksauce 07-24-2006 12:10 AM
i think i know where it is.
 Really?

Where?

I need it...:(

Storm In A Teacup 07-25-2006 10:50 AM

I haven't posted on here in what seems like forever. :(

Yeah, Fish. All those songs you said you can play start to finish are all amazing songs, since they are by Coheed, but even more so. :thumb:

Strange only have bothered to learn entirely what seems to be most of their singles they've ever had. :smash:

Riziger 07-25-2006 11:26 AM

haha i just made a band to play just Coheed covers. Gonna get seriously started at the end of the year as I have my biggest exam of my life in 3 months.

DJ Ducksauce 07-25-2006 11:31 AM

Sweet.

I really want to do a Coheed cover for the PP band. Seriously. I want to do IKSSE:3 bad.

Riziger 07-25-2006 11:46 AM

Trying out AFHA first. I would love a female vocalist but seing as how many ppl actually know what Coheed is in my country I dont think my chances are that good. Haha my singer now reminds me of claudio tho, he's pretty big.

IKSSE:3 is such a fun song to play haha.

DJ Ducksauce 07-25-2006 12:06 PM

Yeah AFHA rocks. I can get that high too. Kinda get throaty after a bit though.

:upset: i've been smashed.

I tried learning all of time consumer, but most of the songs dont work without both guitars

TheBigMachine 07-26-2006 04:30 AM

Coheed is pretty simple-ish on drums. In Keeping Secrets is fairly easy, as is most of that album. I havent tried sstb or ga though...

Fish 07-26-2006 11:17 PM

the drumming isnt very hard at all, my drummer picked it up first time through on most songs, including IKSOSE
