I'm I the only one who likes 'Octavarium?'
|
i still think its pretty good they still own most bands out there
panic attack is my personal fave the middle riff and solo sections dominate |

http://www.stick.com/method/greg_howard2.wmv These are chapman stick vids. And as far as DT 'tributing' other bands, theyve been doing it a while now, at least since TOT and whether you call it a tribute or a ripoff, we are not getting true DT. i wait for the time when DT makes its own music again LTE, OSI will by my music of choice til then |
Those videos are great, but it does look very difficult to play, and it's hardly the kind of thing you're gonna be able to pick up cheap at your local guitar shop and give it a go. But a very cool instrument nevertheless.

8-)
I'm seeing DT tomorrow who's jealous? ;) |
Me :< Whereabouts?
|
I'm going to see them in Holland ;) Heineken Music Hall, not the biggest palce, but the place is build only for concerts so the sound is superb
|
Then you are even luckier, although big shows are also quite an experience.
|
I'm going to see them two nights in a row this month. Yay!
|
The Glass Prison riff is... oh god.
|

I'm not either... out of personal choice that I'd rather see CoB and Bad Religion.

Lets all feel sorry for Lord Abortion. |

I would kill to see them once. You are one lucky bastard. |
I'm seeing them in Wolverhampton, and I would have got tickets for all three england dates but I can only get to Wolves.

I hope I'll be able to see them if they come on their North America Tour in the spring. |
How much do DT tickets normally go for?

Dunno, although I doubt they'd be too much. They're not exactly pop icons... |
I think they were £22.50 per ticket in London, not including postage and packaging, which would probably have taken it to £25. Not a particularly good price, especially by American standards, but not all that bad either for how long their sets are and how big a band they are.
How much money is that in american currency? |

About $45 I think. |
I'm not a big fan of 8V...I just dont think they have the umph the rest of the CD's have...I love ToT and I love some songs on 8V (TROAE, These Walls, Panic Attack), but the rest I find lacking.
I would love to see them a lot of their early stuff, but I don't blame them for not wanting to. I know, in my band, we have been playing some of our set for over a year now and I get tired of playing it. So, you can't blame them, but when I see them I want them to play these songs especially: Metropolis Pt. 1, Lie, The Mirror, The Glass Prison, As I Am, Under a Glass Moon, Learning to Live, Burning My Soul...haha, I could go on all day...ehhh, mostly I want to hear The Glass Prison...**** YEAH! |

They play early material at every show. |
They play 90% new material though.
|
They play 90% new material though.
No they don't. Here's a setlist from this tour (I just found it on the MP forums) Root of all evil Panic Attack Another Won (I don't knwo what this is) A Fortune in lies Under a glass moon Caught in a web Peruvian Skies Raise the knife Home --intermission-- The Glass Prison This Dying Soul Never Enough Sacrified Sons Octavarium -- Spirit carries on Pull me under/Metropolis That's a fair amount of the set made up of pre-Rudess material. and they change their set every night so you hear nearly any song on any given night. |
Meh, it wasn't like that at Gigantour. And honestly they've got so poor stage presence that I'd rather spend my money to see other bands that I haven't seen before.
|
aw that sucks they dident play As I Am? i would have liked to have heard pull me under though....it was almsot the same setlist for me other than octavarium and pull me ander and a couple others.
|
I wanna see them play SOC :(
