They are a melodic death metal band and if you want to get an album I highly recommend Blackwater Park :thumb:

Dannyboy15 07-12-2005 08:04 PM

progressive death metal?

Grey Incision 07-12-2005 08:10 PM
progressive death metal?
That's how many people define them

PeEpHoLe_10 07-12-2005 08:12 PM

Thats what i would say they are.

TheSubtleArts 07-12-2005 08:45 PM

melodic death metal ive always heard. but yea, progressive would be fine too.

Det_Nosnip 07-12-2005 09:31 PM

They're more progressive than melodic as far as genreing goes, but of course it's kind of ironic because the two traits are definetly NOT mutually exclusive!

Slapping Penguin 07-12-2005 10:17 PM

Its Progessive Death for sure because its not really like ATG, Arch Enemy, Ammon Amarth, In Flames. Yeah sure its very melodic but not melodic in the way we classifie Melo Death Bands.

Grey Incision 07-12-2005 10:20 PM

it's melodic in a progressive sense?

Magicaltroll 07-12-2005 10:26 PM

123
I mean, all metal is melodic.

OfSins&Shred 07-12-2005 10:51 PM

Prog Death Metal..

bball_1523 07-12-2005 10:54 PM

Opeth is Opeth, it's hard to describe, but it all ends up in the interpretations of the person. I think they are a progressive and melodic death metal band with clean vocals/acoustics

Slapping Penguin 07-12-2005 10:55 PM
I mean, all metal is melodic.
True but you know what I mean the melodies in metal which a distincly make it Melodic Death Metal.

PS: What does 123 mean

Thanks for no response, I"ll figure it out

Slapping Penguin 07-13-2005 03:09 AM

???

Six Foot Revolver 07-13-2005 03:35 AM
progressive death metal?
If I am correct and I am probably not then that is a contradiction because all death is progressive

Grey Incision 07-13-2005 03:46 AM
Thanks for no response, I"ll figure it out
