Ok I was bout to say, I've never bothered myself to listen to FATA.

Have you heard No Wings To Speak Of? It's about the only post hardcore recording I'd recommend to anybody.
Have you heard No Wings To Speak Of? It's about the only post hardcore recording I'd recommend to anybody.
nay.

Nepenthe 06-15-2007 06:57 PM

Hear it then!

Tyler 06-15-2007 06:58 PM

Eventually.

Nepenthe 06-15-2007 07:01 PM

Just keep it up top. It has incredible clean crescendos in all of the songs.

RetiredAt21 06-15-2007 08:51 PM
Says the guy who willingly listens to FATA @hawtie
I was thinking the same thing.

LifeInABox 06-15-2007 09:01 PM

Should I put my A7x back on my ipod?

RetiredAt21 06-15-2007 09:02 PM
Should I put my A7x back on my ipod?
God, no.

Dimmu Burger 06-15-2007 09:04 PM
And if you haven't heard No Wings To Speak Of your opinion on Hopesfall is not valid. That ep crushes any other post hardcore recording of all time. Too bad everything else Hopesfall has done is mediocre.
No Wings To Speak Of is pretty amazing, but I like their other stuff too, in different ways.

O Rly?

Tyler 06-15-2007 09:43 PM

antihippy I don't think it's possible to neg you enough.

antihippy 06-15-2007 09:54 PM

:(

in other news, i can't stop listening to underoath's DTGL. soooo good.

LifeInABox 06-15-2007 10:03 PM

Yuck.

antihippy 06-15-2007 10:05 PM

you're yuck.

Tyler 06-15-2007 10:06 PM

Define the Great Line is really great, but Cries of the Past will always be my favourite. Dallas' vocals just rip.

LifeInABox 06-15-2007 10:12 PM

I just plain don't like Underoath. TOCS murdered them to me because it made their music un-metal.

Tyler 06-15-2007 10:15 PM

Nobody likes that album though. Well, Mappy does. It's totally unlike the rest of their discography and quite frankly, it's your loss. Their first album was average, but Cries of the Past was a solid death/metalcore/whatever album. The Changing of The Times was solid, but took them down a catchier route, and then came They're Only Chasing Safety (and a new vocalist), which was flat out gay. Define the Great Line is a return to metalcore.

LifeInABox 06-15-2007 10:18 PM

Somewhat thanks to Adam D. too. Writing On The Walls is ok. I remember my friend making me glue my eyes to that music video.

RunAmokRampant 06-16-2007 01:56 AM

I saw Underoath last week because my friend had a spare ticket and I had nothing else to do. I almost fell asleep, it was pretty boring.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 01:58 AM

i dont think theyre only chasing safety is that bad

RetiredAt21 06-16-2007 07:35 AM

The only Underoath I can stand to listen to is Act Of Depression.

encmetalhead 06-16-2007 09:12 AM

DTGL is great TOCS sucks COT is meh AOD is decent(haven't listened to it in a while)

Dimmu Burger 06-16-2007 01:48 PM

TOCS is really catchy and I enjoyed it quite often back when it came out, but DTGL just doesn't grab me other than the first song. Of course I like that electronic song with the german talking stuff on it.

Have you guys heard Dallas's current band Maylene and the Sons of Disaster? I really like it, its like Southern Rock but heavy, but not quite metal, lol as stupid as that sounds.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 01:52 PM

I agree with you on both Chasing Safety and Great Line. Something about Great Line just doesn't get me interested.

Maylene is pretty good, but nothing special. I haven't even checked out their new release, but I will some day.

Eliminator 06-16-2007 02:01 PM

define the great line rules

i am the robots 06-16-2007 02:04 PM

Changing Of Times is their best album, hands down.

They're Only Chasing Safety is awesome.

I'm Content With Losing, Down Set Go, It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door, Young And Aspiring, I've Got 12 Friends And A Crowbar And That Says You Ain't Gonna Do Jack, The Impact Of Reason, and I Don't Feel Very Receptive today are all great songs.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 02:08 PM

Reinventing Your Exit is my favorite from Chasing, and that's like the only one you didn't mention. Dangerous Business and Young And Aspiring would be my next favorites.

i am the robots 06-16-2007 02:10 PM

Reinventing Your Exit is my least favorite song by Underoath in general so yeah...

AA-12 06-16-2007 02:11 PM

You guys know my opinion on UO and Maylene. The latter being one of my favorite bands.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 02:14 PM

What's wrong with Reinventing?

i am the robots 06-16-2007 02:24 PM

I dunno, that song irritates me.

But on the topic of Underoath... Alone In December and Short Of Daybreak. Best songs.

Txus 06-16-2007 02:32 PM

The Last is Underoath's best song EVER, followed by Angel Below.

Tyler 06-16-2007 02:34 PM

Yeah I'm partial to The Last as well.

Dimmu Burger 06-16-2007 02:34 PM
IMaylene is pretty good, but nothing special. I haven't even checked out their new release, but I will some day.
It's really good, its a lot catchier than the last cd. I highly recommend.

Daven 06-16-2007 03:00 PM

The Last is the ****.

Dimmu Burger 06-16-2007 03:12 PM

Has anybody else listened to the new Becoming The Archetype? I really like it. It has alot of cool death/black metal stuff going on, I dunno if i'd even call them metalcore anymore.

Tyler 06-16-2007 03:15 PM

Yeah it's great. Not much black on it though...and no metalcore. Their last album was boring so it was a nice surprise.

that album is one of my fav for this year. i though Terminate Damnation was great but they just stepped it up even more with The Physics of Fire. i love the addition of clean vocals. i never really considered them metalcore to begin with. i think they have lots of talent and i hope the keep progressing in the style of BTBAM has been doing every album

encmetalhead 06-16-2007 03:44 PM

new BTBAM this fall, ya'll excited?
