NP: Kick Axe - Heavy Metal Shuffle

blue3 09-04-2005 03:46 PM

Awesome. Thanks.

Jon 09-04-2005 03:57 PM

I don't like the new Hanoi track.

Vince is a bit of a twat actually. I was reading through various Hanoi features on Tooting Bec Press (the Hanoi press archive) and in this one article there were several high res photos of Mike, and then one of Vince next to him.

Usually I'd say Vince in his prime was pretty damn handsome, but next to Mike in 84. My god. You could actually describe Vince as hideous in comparision.

The article btw (56k nein)

Jon 09-04-2005 04:02 PM

I meant album.

I want liposuction in my cheeks or something.

blue3 09-04-2005 04:09 PM

Mike Monroe > Vince Neil.

Um.. why would you want liposuction in your cheeks?

Jon 09-04-2005 04:24 PM

Sick.

I'm totally becoming a male hooker when I'm all growed up so I can be like him \:D/

Why did Cafe Avenue and Dead By X-Mas...and the whole of SDB come to think of it...have to be on SDB (a b-side album)? Meaning they never play any of it live...

.:doc silver:. 09-05-2005 10:22 AM

I like too much the Hanoi new album...
and they are great person... I was talkin' about life after a show in Italy (New Age)... Mike and (little less active with his brain) Andy.. I've no words.. they have seen all in his life!

Jon 09-05-2005 11:05 AM

Oh god, J-Rock and Visual K.

Now that is image. Styx can fuck themselves, look at this guy
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8421/rikucrop6fk.jpg

Also, Mike Monroe. At 17. Not fair

Jon 09-05-2005 11:44 AM

Other way round, remember how much GNR ripped Hanoi off.

I seriously want to sort out my cheekbones, its so unfair.

Jon 09-05-2005 12:21 PM

werd :upset:

blue3 09-05-2005 05:14 PM

^ Haha..
He looks so much like Axl
Yeah that's what I thought too

Jon 09-07-2005 07:31 AM

NP: Skid Row discography at full volume with the windows open and subwoofer on etc etc

roll on tonight

Jon 09-07-2005 07:40 AM

Isn't Nasty a Chemist in a remote Finnish village or something now?

Jon 09-07-2005 07:49 AM

I don't think its anywhere like Helsinki and I'm not looking it up till I've done my homework and gone to Skid Row :p

Jon 09-08-2005 10:05 AM

Fuck yes.

They played Makin' A Mess twice, the first time was a punk version which was awesome, they played the original towards the end.

18 And Life was the best bit, obviously. Oh god. Yessss. Yessssssssss.

So good.

Uh.

The Playboys were pretty good, the sound at the Electric Ballroom is better than at the Astoria so you could actually hear Yorkie's vocals.

Uh.

I could have partied with Skid Row but I had to be up bright and early for school so I went home at 11.30 :(

Oh well.

Yeah

Rock.

Jon 09-08-2005 10:22 AM

Johnny Solinger iirc

And Snake was in hospital so Kerry Kelly was filling in for him :(

I have Scotty's pick btw.

Yorkie reminds me of Bach so much, I'll get a photo in a minute

And no, unless its on Thickskin

Jon 09-08-2005 11:17 AM

He strained his left hand or something (:naughty: )

iamtheking 09-10-2005 11:25 AM

I like motley crue, skid row, scorpions, bon jovi and abit of whitesnake.

Jon 09-11-2005 06:12 AM

Oh dude, I paid £5 deposit for some fuckin' £65 tight zebraprint trousers.

I got taken to the secret upstairs bit at some Camden shop that I never knew existed (the upstairs glam warehouse, not the shop, twas where I bought my bullet belt years ago) and my god. Leopard print, zebra print, spandex, PVC, leather, glitter, absolutely anything you can imagine.

Oh crap I now have to find £60 before next week. I'll go get them before the Renegade Playboys gig at the Marquee hehe.

Jon 09-11-2005 07:22 AM

HANOI FUCKING ROCKS* NEXT SATURDAY IN SCARBOROUGH

Anyone wanna give me a lift there?

*and the Wildhearts and the Glitterati and stuff

Jon 09-11-2005 08:13 AM

I really don't know if I can afford to go, its £60 return on the train (I hope I can get a lift) and tickets are £30.

Zebraprint trousers £60 left to pay next week (paid £5 deposit)
Renegade Playboys gig guestlist but travel ~ £5
Nothin' To Lose/SPiT LiKE THiS gig £10 including travel
Dragonforce guestlist in Oxford, travel ~ £20
Dragonforce in London maybe, ~ £20
Friend owes me £20

I can't afford life.

Jon 09-11-2005 09:00 AM

lol, wildwho? Hanoi are playing...

Anyway the rumours that they'll be coming back in the winter are looking more true, they've got a new label and the new album is getting a general release.

Jon 09-11-2005 09:15 AM

reeeeeeeeeefl

NP: Dogs D'Amour - World's Different Now

Jon 09-12-2005 10:29 AM

Basically the same, just without talkbox solos in every song.

ITT: We ponder how much better Bon Jovi would've been with George Lynch and Randy Rhoads as their guitarists.

Jon 09-13-2005 02:02 PM

http://www.cloggs.co.uk/invt/1127

Dude...

I'll post photos of my Zebraprints when I pick them up btw.

Some photos I found of me looking hideously drunk, hideously underage (it was only like 3 months ago :() and generally hideous

NP: Manic Street Preachers - Drug Drug Druggie

Jon 09-13-2005 02:15 PM

I look fucking anorexic in the first picture, its a mix between a sort of pout and sticking my tounge out and sucking my cheeks in and its horrible :(

NP: Personality Crisis

Jon 09-13-2005 02:18 PM

I seriously don't remember that photo being taken, I can't even make out if its in the Fox or in the street or in Decadence. I remember holding the camera out in front of us for the second one and everything, the first one is just like wtf when did that happen.

And I could swear to god slutter wasn't wearing The Shirt that night.

NP: Planet Queen

ZoolanderHotept 09-13-2005 03:01 PM

Has no one mentioned Quiet Riot yet? It was Randy Rhoads first band. Although the only two albums he played on (Quiet Riot I & II) are only avalible as imports. You can get Metal Health and Condition Critical here in the states easily though. They were easily the best Hair Metal band ever, and the first Metal band to have a number 1 single. (Come on Feel the Noize)

Jon 09-13-2005 03:13 PM

First Metal band to have a number 1 single? What about like...uh...KISS or Deep Purple?

ZoolanderHotept 09-13-2005 03:20 PM

Deep purple and Kiss were both classified as rock on the Billboard charts at the time of their singles hit the charts. Kiss's "Strutter" hit number one in the US only, same with "Smoke on the Water". "Come on feel the Noize" hit number 1 internationaly. I probaly should of said they were the first metal band to have an international number 1 hit.

Jon 09-13-2005 03:35 PM

Wow, never knew that :)

They sure did rock, its just a shame so many Americans heard the original and were like "Hey, they covered that Quiet Riot song!"

Metallifan85 09-13-2005 04:35 PM

Slade was alright. The Quiet Riot cover had a more energetic feel to it, I think so anyway. And that feeling is what I listen to this kind of music for <3

Jon 09-14-2005 10:18 AM

Yeah, its just how people thought it was a Quiet Riot original and all, just like silly kids I know think Heaven is a DJ Sammy original.

Jon 09-14-2005 11:03 AM

I was about to say, Oasis do a great version :p

NP: Ace Frehley - Rip It Out

Jon 09-14-2005 12:28 PM

Have you heard any Monroe solo stuff?

I downloaded Dead, Jail or Rock'n'roll the other day, its pretty good.

NP: The Final Countdown. I think I'll get my band to cover Rock The Night instead, there's only so much cheese you can have.

blue3 09-14-2005 05:20 PM

I've never heard any of his solo albums..

Jon 09-15-2005 01:44 PM

ITP I have new photos. First two in this folder, but feel free to look around.

The newest one is like 15 minutes ago, I was practicing some makeup for a gig tomorrow night, the other one is a few weeks ago when I felt like wearing full leathers and not much else.

http://photobucket.com/albums/y194/jondz3003/Recent%20photos/

Jon 09-17-2005 05:05 AM

Hahahahahahahahaha

so last night I was in the toilet area of the marquee club doing makeup with sebz and dave from the playboys and this ****ing 27 year old FASHION STYLIST from the seperate party in the penthouse comes up to me and asked where I got my trousers and said she loved my whole image and everything. I was wearing a motley shirt, zebra print trousers, a glittery leopard print scarf, red eyeshadow, black eyeliner, fishnet armwarmers and my black+white converse with alternate laces (one white one black)

oh, and the official playboys camcorder + camera girls kept filming me and my friend :)

Doctor Night 09-17-2005 11:14 AM

Isnt Marc Bolan and T- Rex a Glam rock Band?

Jon 09-17-2005 12:36 PM

Well yeah, I'd say so :-/
