 |
wats the sabian version of the mastersound/sound edge hats?
|
the XCelerator hats.
|
comes in AAX and PRO. the PRO's would be the much brighter sounding of the two
|
hey,
im lookin for a thin quick symbol that could put its self up to heavy rock/metal music i was lookin at the sabian aax studio crash but it seems kinda weak for the genre any suggetions? |
the only thing i can think would be those new Paiste Rude Thin Crashes....again however, Thin and Metal/Loud Music just dont mix.
|

If you remember a while back, I was asking for cheap cymbal recommendations. Well, I can ditch that now, because I just got a sudden boost of cash.
I'm going for a professional series ride, and this time, I want a bright sounding, but elegent crash. Any ideas? |
AA Medium-Thin.
|
I so found a 20 inch Sabian HHX Manhattan ride in my school, then I so stole it
|
Hey guys, I'm looking for crashes or chinas that have a fast clean attack with quick decay, a punchy sound while remaining melodic. I really like the Bozzio Radia line so something like that except more available and better prices.

I'm looking for new hats. My price range 300 or so and less.
They need to be versitile and bright. I generally like 13"s. |

good on you mate :thumb: |
Hi hats.
Quick, precise, acoustic. Not low pitched. Cutting (but then again, why hi hats aren't) but soothing. Smooooth hi hats.. suitable for heavyish rock settings. I don't want zompy hi hats that sound like a plane reversing. |
"I don't want zompy hi hats that sound like a plane reversing."
I have no idea what zompy means, or what a plane sounds like in reverse, but from the other things that you mentioned, id say try the a custom, i think those fit in your other categories pretty well. But your a Ufip guy and i dont know anything about those cymbals so im at a loss to suggest some of those. |

Heh, I play anything man, I just have utmost respect for UFiP and thing they should get more recognition (same with meinl). I mean.. my ride's a zildjian, china and splash are wuhan and hats are ****. The only thing that's ufip on my kit are both my crashes, and in my opinion crashes are the hardest to get perfect (Mine still aren't perfect, but the closest I've found so far.). Some people will beg to differ, but in my opinion crashes are the hardest. |
I totally agree that crashes are tough to get right, and to get a good personal sound. I have sort of a crash fetish, i buy new crashes every chance i get. I like to have a large selection.
and i agree with meinl deserving recognition...if you need K customs on a budget, get Meinl byzance series....i havent had an oppurtunity to try or even see Ufip cymbal... |
Byzance are not K' copies
|
^but there aren't totally different from them^
K Zildjian=Hand Hammered=Byzance=(don't know Paiste, Istanbul, Stagg or Blosphorus equvilents) K Custiom=HHX=Byznace( I think) |
Can i please get some help!? I use to have a Zildjian A custom 18" Projection crash but it cracked after 7 months, mosly because of my playing style. Im a heavy hitter. Anyway, i need a good crash cymbal that wont crack immediatly! I have looked into Zildjian Z custom medium crashes, are they any good? Also i need a ride, i have looked into Zildjian a sweet ride and ping rides. Please help me, i need good cymbals for playing punk! Thanks

Alright guys, thanks for the input. I've order an AAX Medium-Thin Crash(but it's out of stock at the moment, I'll know when the next shipment is tomorrow). They are the same as the AA Medium-Thin Crash, but with the Sound Control thingy, right(if they're horrible, I'll cancel my order)?

AAX and B8 are not hand hammered, do they are the same?? no. |

When Sabian first started up, they had two series, the AAs and the Hand Hammered (AA was obviously machine hammered). Now if they called a cymbal the AAX, obviously it would be machine hammered as well. |
^^ yeah true, but I just wanted to say that its not because two brands are hand hammered that they will be the same.

there is no AAX Medium-thin Crash....there are Stage And Xplosion crashes are are a medium-thin weight though.....and no, it wont sound like an AA Med-thin, because the lathings, and hammerings are completely different. the AAX by standard, should be more focused, and a tad darker than the AA. If there was no AAX Medium Thin, how could he be asking for RM530 from me for a cymbal that doesn't exist? Anywho, thank God I asked before I paid. So, are there any cymbals from the AAX series similar to what I've asked for(bright, elegent crash)? |
i'd say the AAX Stage Crash is your best bet....also, one other i had forgot to mention, the AAX Bright Crash is a medium-thin.
i say cancel your order and go AA....i'd take those over AAX's anyday. |
Hey im new to this forum/board
Just wondering if i could have a few suggestions from you people. Im looking to purchase new cymbals preferable for hard rock/metal music, i would be very grateful for some suggestions in what to look out for. |
^^welcome man!!
and what is your price range and the sound you want?? it will be easier for us to help you. |
yeah man, the only thing i ask of in this thread, is that you be descriptive. Bright,Dark, heavy, thin, cymbal types, brand preferences etc....
and if on a budget, please let us know what your willing to spend. it helps me be especially precise. |
Price shouldnt be a problem im going to save until ive got the right money. Preferances really Sabian or Paiste ive got Ziljdian ZXT cymbals at the moment and i really dont like them.
With the crash im looking for something that has a nice dark aggressive and explosive sound but doesnt keep ringing after, my current ZXT does that and i dont really like it. With the ride cymbal aggressive ping but still not to keep ringing afterwards. Sorry about the explanations if there not useful im a newbie as you can guess lol |
For the ride, try a 20" A Ping Ride.
|

that sounds like an HHXplosion crash to me.
With the ride cymbal aggressive ping but still not to keep ringing afterwards. Sorry about the explanations if there not useful im a newbie as you can guess
Paiste Signature Power ride. will seem like it rings forever on your own, but throw in guitars to the mix, and it will be all ping, and no ring. |
thanks for the suggestions.
i will look into it sometime during the week. thanks |
