Tom had a hammer and sickle sticker on his guitar for a while. There is nothing wrong with being communist anyway.
Tom also had a picture of Che on his amp. Does that make him cuban or argentinian?

DonMancini 01-11-2005 05:21 PM

I have a question.

Whenever Tom plays the "sleep now in the fire" solo live, he always gets on his knees in front of his amp. Anyone know what he's doing and why he does that? I noticed that there are also three pictures of what appears to be a vietnamese woman on it, does that have anything to do with it?

I believe that the solo is done using feedback and whammy bar so he just get's close to the to create feedback. although he could equally be conjuring up crazy sounds from his worship of crazy vietnamise fertitility god's...crazy

refl, that would explain it.

And I was looking for a deep political/emotional reason.

I'll see what I can do ;)

munky_magik 01-11-2005 05:52 PM

hmm...How about the pictures are of 3 vietnamese women who were crushed by the opression of their Right wing government and the solo is the sound of their dying cries and he must get close to them to be able to relay these cries again and again?

Rasta Rocker 01-11-2005 06:54 PM

Rasta Rocker 01-11-2005 07:00 PM
Can anyone find anything out about Brad Wilk and the number 3?
i think it is just his favourite number. Which i why he is supposed to write it on everything.

Rasta Rocker 01-12-2005 10:21 AM

In the articles I've read, they say he has a strange connection with it...I mean I have a favorite number, but I don't write it on everything.

Arucard 01-12-2005 10:23 AM

I listened to the whole of Evil Empire on the way to school today, and it is so much better than i remember.

Bass_ment 01-12-2005 11:20 AM

^^^^
It certainly is the one of the 3 that grows on you. When I first heard it I thought it was the weakest of the three, but now after owning it for over a year and giving many a listen I feel that its probably just as great as the other ones. Although the production value is not as high as the s/t so most of the songs sound much better live.

Too bad I'll never get to see them play Bulls on Parade live :upset:

fenderbender89 01-12-2005 11:30 AM

Haha, I did the same thing today. I used to not like the song "Without A Face" but now that song seems a whole lot better than it did before.

munky_magik 01-12-2005 05:41 PM

Evil Empire is my favourite Rage album anyway, it's just consistently better IMO.

Without a face is kick *** man, the bass line during the verse is really cool.

You know, I can never honestly pick between the Self-Titled and Evil Empire

My opinoin constantly switches between the two

Bullet In_The Head 01-12-2005 10:35 PM

I really don't c whats so good about s/t. I mean, well, they're all great albums and im not saying it sucks or anything but aside from a few songs, I really don't think it compares to other albums. But that's just my opinion.

Maybe I'll try listening to it a couple more times and I'll realize how good it is.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-13-2005 01:29 AM

Genocide also goes by the name Darkness Of Greed, or sometimes just Darkness, and it isnt on any albums, it was recorded for a movie soundtrack. I think the movie was called The Crow.

Bass_ment 01-13-2005 10:51 AM

yep Vio-lence is correct on that one

custardpie 01-13-2005 11:37 AM

If I remember correctly, Darkness of Greed was released on that Live & Rare cd, the only live album they did besides the Grand Olympic... Not sure if you guys arent mentioning it 'cause it was in import only out in Japan, but the whole cd was **** good. You can find it fairly cheap now, like 10-12 bucks...

Darkness 01-14-2005 05:09 PM

That wasn't an official rage release though, Sony or something made it to basically celebrate there tour in Japan.

Xai 01-14-2005 05:23 PM

Killin in the name of is my favourite RATM song. Does anyone like the new singer in RATM better in the album RAGE?

Darkness 01-14-2005 05:38 PM

That post didn't make any sense.
