Some intresting LoC news from their site:
me & brad are searching for a
crusty female singer (in the style of
nausea & antischism) to head our new band.
political minded athiests idealy. we want to trade
vocals off with someone that can bring a feminist
point of view like the record "***** envy" by crass,
though we'd prefer if that wasn't your only
preoccupation because we hate cops and corporations
the most.

send any demo tapes or cds with contact info to:
Scott Sturgeon
p.o. box 1102
n.y., n.y. 10009

we will be based in nyc & plan to record & play a few
shows this summer, it will be musically like a mix
between leftöver crack & f-minus. we have the rest
of the band filled out, we just need your high-pitched
political screeching to fill out our plan.
Sounds intresting.

They are also playing shows with the SubHumAns and Stza has his acoustic shows, so they might not've broken up.

Weezerfan_returns 05-22-2005 01:00 AM

although both bands are pretty cool, i have to say that this is one of the most terribly confusing threads i've ever read...

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 05-22-2005 04:36 AM

Stza is playing this friday in england at the underworld, unfortunately i can't go though

mook 05-22-2005 06:50 AM

I saw Stza on Wednesday in Lancaster. It was a pretty good set.

Iron Bug 05-22-2005 06:59 AM

Who are the people singing the F'ucking Pigs song right after Burn Them Prisons on FWT? Are they kids or was it just Stza and Erza with somekind of studio effect?

mook 05-22-2005 07:01 AM

It says in the booklet, I think it was just 2 kids. They name them in the booklet, but I can't remember exactly. It wasn't Stza and Erza anyway.

Nihilism'99 05-22-2005 09:55 AM

So Leftover Crack is coming here with the Subhumans. Should be pretty cool.
Who are the people singing the F'ucking Pigs song right after Burn Them Prisons on FWT? Are they kids or was it just Stza and Erza with somekind of studio effect?
from the booklet:
Dan-Yell, Charlotte, Alynda (hot do is my hero) & Esra (Epic hotness) perform "Fuckin' Pigs"

i like the fact that the album features background vocals from most of anti-flag and spoken word samples from brian keinlen. i like it when random people from important/famous/popular bands do weird little parts in other people's albums.

KingOfSka 05-22-2005 05:41 PM

I never knew Anti-Flag had anything to do with that album

mole 05-22-2005 05:45 PM

Gonna see LOC in NY with Subhumans, Citizen Fish, and this one band that sounds like Blue Meanies

Yeah, what track did Brian do that on?
Gonna see LOC in NY with Subhumans, Citizen Fish, and this one band that sounds like Blue Meanies
That show will be amazing

cheeser_1 05-23-2005 12:44 PM
Yeah, what track did Brian do that on?
honestly, i'm not so sure. i'm pretty sure anti-flag (minus pat) did some of the backing vocals for Via Sin Dios. brian did spoken word, i'm going to guess it was the bit on Super Tuesday. but i could be wrong. singing voices and talking voices can be pretty different sometimes, and i'm not so sure about it.

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 05-23-2005 12:51 PM

yeah, same. When i saw him listed at the back i made a concious effort to listen out for him on the CD but i couldn't hear him

Word

Fabz 05-31-2005 02:41 PM

I already have Mediocre Generica....and F*ck World Trade

I want to know if the songs on Rock The 40 Oz are exactly the same as the one on the two other cds?

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 07-05-2005 12:43 PM

Just read through this whole thread, i've been listening to so much Crack Rock Steady stuff recently. Good profile, Nick
http://s36.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1YNPIWFRWOPW60P8A588HA2W4S

Theres the concert. I should get rep++ for this.
Can anyone upload this again for me please?

cheeser_1 07-05-2005 01:36 PM
I want to know if the songs on Rock The 40 Oz are exactly the same as the one on the two other cds?
no.

Jessizzle 07-05-2005 01:55 PM

I go thru fazez with the CRS7 bands. sometimes im in the mood for it, sometimes not.

Forest_Fire 07-05-2005 02:00 PM

Do No cash and INDK sound like choking victim? If so, I'll downlad the stuff in the YSI thread

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 07-05-2005 02:03 PM

i'm downloading now. InDk is essentially a punk band i think, not sure about no cash.

Brain Toad 07-05-2005 02:04 PM

InDK is just plain punk. No-Ca$h sounds nearly identical to Leftover Crack, but have no members from any CRS7 bands.

Forest_Fire 07-05-2005 02:04 PM

Okay. Tell me if they're any good. I've never really gotten a chance to hear them.

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 07-05-2005 02:09 PM

i'm listening to them now, i'll let you know

-------------------------------------------

they're very fu'cking good

cheeser_1 07-05-2005 05:11 PM

i saw a couple choking victim 7" go for $120 on ebay the other day.

that's really fucking sad, to be honest. i think there's just a point where you honestly shouldn't be paying that much for a freaking piece of plastic, no matter how rare it is or who's on it or whatever.

pedro durruti 07-05-2005 05:13 PM

This should be called The Official Crack Rock Steady Thread
InDK is just plain punk. No-Ca$h sounds nearly identical to Leftover Crack, but have no members from any CRS7 bands.
What about songs like East Coast Rising and Moonwalk Mafia

Unseen2k0 07-05-2005 05:59 PM

InDecay has some ska beats but mostly punk ones, so everyone just says "They are plain punk." I can name like 4 songs that have ska beats, and a lot of songs that are ska-ish but not on InDK, but instead M-Glory.

BoyOnFire 07-05-2005 07:38 PM

Good band, I've only ever heard FWT though. My favourite song is Super Tuesday, I even remember looking at the back of the CD after I bought it and thinking that any CD with a song title as awesome as Super Tuesday should be purchased on principle. I really don't like Operation MOVE, the lyrics are interesting but the song isn't very good and the 15 hours of instrumentals afterwards keeps it off any playlist.

cheeser_1 07-05-2005 07:51 PM

just crop the damned thing. there are plenty of freeware programs out there that can crop mpg/mp3 files easily.

could anyone re-do this please? or upload any videos of crack rock steady bands?

cheers

BoyOnFire 07-06-2005 08:00 AM

Cheeser while that might solve that problem, I'll still be left with the other problem of it not being very good.

cheeser_1 07-06-2005 09:16 AM

that's a matter of opinion. there are no freeware programs out there to change opinions just yet, but if i find any, i'll let you know.

albert_bass 07-06-2005 09:19 AM

I like Operation MOVE, the build-up is pretty good. It's the worst song on the album but it's still quite good.

guns_of_brixton 07-06-2005 09:21 AM

I guess I like LoC, but I don't understand them. It sounds like they have a bunch of guitars and keyboards and on alot of songs it is overdone and sounds like s'hit. And maybe I'm misssing something but F'uck World Trade is a hardcore album with very little ska. I still like it, but I sure wouldn't call it ska, and its barely even skacore.

albert_bass 07-06-2005 09:27 AM

Well I don't think they never said they're hardcore. As for having a bunch of guitars and keyboards, I don't think so. The more I've heard is two guitars and a keyboard and how is that overdone? As for liking them or not, it's a question of musical taste but I think your reasonings are very weak.

guns_of_brixton 07-06-2005 09:34 AM

I like them. I just don't understand them.

Scabies 07-06-2005 09:45 AM

In case no ones posted it, http://www.householdnamerecords.co.uk/ says they definatly aint split up and theyre playing some shows.

albert_bass 07-06-2005 09:49 AM
I like them. I just don't understand them.
I don't understand you, but it's ok as long as you do.

username77 07-06-2005 09:51 AM
I really don't like Operation MOVE
 I LOVE that song.
I love LoC, IMO they are one of the most talented and original bands out there.

cheeser_1 07-06-2005 10:10 AM
And maybe I'm misssing something but F'uck World Trade is a hardcore album with very little ska. I still like it, but I sure wouldn't call it ska, and its barely even skacore.
there are 13 tracks. 3 have ska. that's 25% of the album (excluding "soon we'll be dead" since it's something completely different). and although i've never cared to be particularly clear about genre nit-picking, i don't think i'd call them hardcore.

guns_of_brixton 07-06-2005 10:19 AM
i don't think i'd call them hardcore.
I would... but I suck at genres.
