OK, can someone tell me who Glenn is please?

I am so confused.

chumpradio 04-26-2005 03:07 PM

Old drummer, before Mike Felumlee.
Glenn Porter was his name.
He drummed on Maybe I'll Catch Fire, and I think Goddammit.

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 04-26-2005 03:09 PM

Check Dan's FA

poprocks&coke 04-26-2005 03:17 PM

aw man that's embarrasing, I read that.

in one ear... out the other...
hm.. i thought they only had 2 drummers? wow you learn something new everyday..

just a thought - why is it most bands have problems with their drummers? (Green Day, for example.)

Untitled 04-26-2005 03:26 PM

And Blink182.

I know a Glenn, he lives next door but one to me, he has one nice superbike.

Saves the day has gone through 4 drummers and 2 bass players. I guess they're just hard to keep.

chumpradio 04-26-2005 03:28 PM

I think that with drummers, they aren't as influential to the band normally. So when a band loses one, they can be replaced. If you lose a lead guitarist, or singer, it is hard to carry on the band, so I just think that any bands who lose other members just fail as bands.

Like when TBS lost john nolan, you could tell the impact.

chumpradio 04-26-2005 03:31 PM

Yeah, with a lot of bands, the drummers don't make as much of an impact. If Blink lost Travis now though, I think they couldn't carry on. Or if Green Day lost Tré. Those drummers seem to do a lot during the song writing processes and help the band a lot.

Ruse of Metacarpi 04-26-2005 03:44 PM

I just typed up the most kick *** review of this band, and then my computer crashed.

Goddammit.

simplephotographinthesun 04-26-2005 05:15 PM

Oz Rembrandt 04-27-2005 07:55 AM

/Bumpped!

So, anyone hear the trio on Lock Up (BBC Radio 1) last night? I know me and Lillie were listening, and were in the chat room. I was a little dissapointed by all the fans talking endless crap in there, not giving Derek a chance to answer any questions...

Still, the radio talk was fairly interesting, except for worrying comments of getting to number one in the UK and going "mainstream". Sounded like they wanted it to happen

Dude, the fact that a band wants to be sucessful shouldn't worry you. Unless they completely change their sound to what's popular, or they ''sell out''. Which they havn't.

I snapped and downloaded their new album so I have something new to listen to when I'm revising. I really really like it. I'm gonna buy it when it's officially released.

Rancid Dan 05-11-2005 09:44 AM

BassPlayer222 05-11-2005 03:43 PM

sparkylp2002 05-26-2005 07:05 AM

I got there album on tuesday, and i think it is really good. "Smoke" as of right now is my favorite song off the cd.

millencolin1234 05-26-2005 09:33 AM

i love 'i was a prayer' and 'the poison'...wait, iv already said what i like, well, i like another one now, im so stupid!!!!!

Rancid Dan 05-26-2005 10:40 AM

I'm loving most of good mourning now.

Every thug needs a lady is a particular favourite at the moment

poprocks&coke 05-26-2005 02:47 PM

Favourite off Good Mourning: Blue in the Face
Favourites off Crimson: Sadie, Mercy Me, I was a Prayer, Back to Hell, Smoke

I can't stop listening to Crimson at the moment, it's addictive...

chumpradio 05-26-2005 03:04 PM

I think that with Crimson, they are some of Matts best songs, but Dans songs aren't as good as some of the older ones.
That's just my opinion though.

Mojo2004 05-26-2005 04:22 PM

Whats better? Good mourning or crimson? i already have GM and love it, and i was wondering how good crimson is in comparison before i buy it

roofee0 05-26-2005 11:21 PM

Anyone catch them on Conan last night?

chumpradio 05-27-2005 02:18 AM
Whats better? Good mourning or crimson? i already have GM and love it, and i was wondering how good crimson is in comparison before i buy it
I find it hard to compare the albums. They are both amazing, and of similar styles. If you love GM, get From Here To Infirmary and Crimson. Then try out Maybe I'll Catch Fire, Goddamnit and the self titled. MICF, God.... and s/t are all of a more raw sound, and a lot faster, rather than the polished and slower sounds of the more recent albums.

poprocks&coke 05-27-2005 01:36 PM

"I'VE GOT A BIG FAT ****ING BONE TO PICK WITH YOU MY DARLING...."
/etc.

I love that song at the moment :D Listening to it right now, in fact.

poprocks&coke 05-27-2005 01:39 PM

This is true.

I don't really like the Poison too much.... but I love Smoke.

HitHardDrums55 05-27-2005 03:56 PM

i love all of crimson its a ****in sick cd...i have every full length by them now and i downloaded the covers of Halloween and Children In Heat...anyone else agree that their version of Children In Heat doesnt sound a bit like the trio? Halloween was ****in amazing though makes me wanna learn how to play grand piano...
