Diatonic Dissonance™ 10-03-2004 02:29 AM

Children Of Bodom are great :thumb:.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-03-2004 02:31 AM

^^^^

one of my favourites as well...probley the most listened to metal band in 04' foe me id say, ill be seeing them live for the third time on Nov.8th :)

BludgeonySteve 10-03-2004 10:50 AM

Yo, let's see. I like

Dragonforce
Iced Earth
COB

uhh, that's all, really :(

Somebody said that Iron Maiden was powermetal once. Is that true?

Steerpike 10-03-2004 10:58 AM

No, but they were a big influence on Power Metal in its early days.

BludgeonySteve 10-03-2004 11:02 AM

ookay then :)

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-03-2004 11:05 AM
No, but they were a big influence on Power Metal in its early days.
no, they really were not. Pantera played more hair metal in the 80's than got into thrash when Phil joined. just because they had a cd titled "power metal" has nothing to do with the genre power metal. they lack every fundamental aspect that makes a band a power metal group.

sensitiveorgan00 10-03-2004 11:07 AM

^ He was referring to Iron Maiden though.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-03-2004 11:09 AM

still...the pantera thing needed to be said lol. Yes, Iron Maiden were highly influential on power metal, espically Bruce's vocal style and the lyrical content. Iron Maiden are NWOBHM and are easily my favourite metal band :)

sensitiveorgan00 10-03-2004 02:36 PM

Any Ninja Magic fans? I highly suggest you guys check them out.

http://www.dominimagica.com/ninja/index2.html

Steerpike 10-03-2004 03:34 PM

Oh my go.

Are those the guys who did the "Real Ultimate Power" website?

Thunder Fingers 10-03-2004 03:39 PM

ah, stratovarius... great power metal.. how i love them..

sensitiveorgan00 10-03-2004 03:41 PM
Oh my go.

Are those the guys who did the "Real Ultimate Power" website?
I doubt it, since these guys are from Sweden, and teh kid who did "Real Ultimate Power" is probably in teh US. Either way, THE WAY OF LIFE is teh best song.

Steerpike 10-03-2004 03:43 PM

I'll have to check that out.

And I think the Real Ultimate Power website was actually done by an adult who used his kids in the photographs. There was a faked press release about it, and I don't think a kid has the resources to stage that.

The instruments aren't even real, are they? the drums certainly aren't.

sensitiveorgan00 10-03-2004 04:46 PM

I don't know. Teh drums do sound too 'good', like very precise. But according to www.metal-archives.com it's a real band, you know with real instruments.

Wasabi Thunderborn - Vocals/Bass
Kawasaké Yamamoto - Drums
Katana Shuriken - Guitars

Either way, they're good.

Ramsey 10-03-2004 05:14 PM

Who likes sinergy?

JMetallica 10-03-2004 05:46 PM

http://www.tuzmadar.hu/ujhp/mainFrameset.htm

It's in Belgiumanian (is it Belgian?). hell, anyway, click on the left hand menu to goto that album and download some mp3s. The music files are low-ish quality but the music sure isn't. Excellent power metal to be had by all. (For Free!!)

Steerpike 10-03-2004 06:15 PM

I'll check that out later. And it's Belgian.

JMetallica 10-03-2004 06:48 PM

hehe, yeah, i couldnt be sure, so i just made some obviously silly title up. Can anyone even pronounce 'belgiumanian' ? :p

Anyhoe, you definitely should. Great band; a breath of fresh air in power metal, i do think.

My God...

I think I have a new favorite band.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-04-2004 01:04 AM
Who likes sinergy?
if its got Alexi, i love it haha. they are incredible i think.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-04-2004 01:08 AM

Ninja Magic sound wonderful instrumentally but the vocalist i can do without.

Det_Nosnip 10-04-2004 01:15 AM
if its got Alexi, i love it haha. they are incredible i think.
*hangs head in shameful ignorance* do you mean *the* Alexi? I didn't know he was in Sinergy...

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-04-2004 01:17 AM

....that would be the one haha. Mr.Laiho from Finland and the boys of Bodom :) check them out, really a cool group!!!

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-04-2004 01:18 AM

by the way...he also plays on the Impaled Nazarene album "nihil", black metal really.

Steerpike 10-04-2004 01:23 AM

I consider that a sign of a true musician. I was going to check out Children of Bodom as soon as I have money again. Alexi Laiho certainly is a busy guy. And from the sound of it, he doesn't pigeonhole himself either. The willingness to experiment so much is wat separates the virtuosos from the rest of the pack.

Det_Nosnip 10-04-2004 01:59 AM

Wow, I had no idea. I mean, I knew he was a monster from COB, but I didn't realize he was involved in so many projects...I'll have to check some of that out.

alexi's wife, Kimberly Goss, sings for Sinergy...apprently she isnt much of a looker from what ive heard haha. i think a guy like alexi could get any woman he wanted in scandanavia lol.

Det_Nosnip 10-05-2004 12:20 AM

Maybe he likes her for her personality....:)

JMetallica 10-05-2004 01:52 AM

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=479

Nar, doesnt look like she has much personality.

Haha, I'd seriously doubt that. A scawny little fucker with eyeliner and nail polish? Not very Brad Pitt'ish. It's probably more to it than looks, though.

Det_Nosnip 10-05-2004 09:34 AM

Some girls like the feminine look.

RideTheSpiral 10-05-2004 10:04 AM

That video clip by the belgian band was hlarious*

Alexi always looks...fruity. :amaze:

Kingofdudes 10-05-2004 03:11 PM

Almost picked up a Sinergy CD today, but I decided to look for a used copy on amazon instead.

Bps_Tech 10-05-2004 04:40 PM
