Wohoo! The mailing list is bringing this thread lots of new people. I'm looking foward to the Big Youth album.

This weekend I went to a record store downtown that I don't normally go to, and discovered their reggae section is about 10 times the size of my local store's reggae section. I didn't buy any reggae cd's, but I bought some records, including Bad Brain's self-titled. I Luv I Jah sounds tons better on vinyl, espicially played loudly.

On The Edge 11-29-2005 02:30 AM

Could I get in on this mailing list? Reggae ignorant person here.

The Big Youth album is great. He's becoming one of my favorite reggae artists.

Badmoon 11-29-2005 09:33 PM

^ Yea, good album.

I really like the rendition of "Hit the Road Jack".

Daniel! 11-29-2005 10:15 PM

"The Killer" will always be my favorite song of his, though.

Broken Arrow 11-30-2005 01:06 PM

I should play that album.

This Abyssinians is really awesome though.

Zion Gates 11-30-2005 06:08 PM

Daniel! 11-30-2005 06:36 PM

I went on another reggae downloading spree a got for albums.

The Heptones - Better Days
Culture - Tow Sevens Clash
Junior Murvin - Police and Theives
Peter Tosh - Equal Rights

The only one I've listened to so far is the Culture album, but it's fantastic.
