Yes.

tolazy4aname 07-10-2005 11:57 AM

afi is ****ing awsome
I got into them before i was even into punk. Sing the sorrow was one of my first cds ever, although i'm ashamed to admit that i also bought a simple plan cd at the time and i've spent the past year fasting and preying to the gods of punk to forgive me.

(afi kicks ***)

tolazy4aname 07-10-2005 11:58 AM

you can't even write *** !?!?

HTLSM 07-10-2005 12:51 PM

Yes, you can write ass all you want when you're smart enough to beat the filter.

blacklantern 07-10-2005 07:36 PM
Where did you learn of this?

I hate sing the sorrow. I like Very Proud Of Ya and Answer That and Stay Fashionable. Cereal Wars and Cruise Control are good songs. Jade Puget is the man.
The lineup on those albums was Davey Havok, Geoff Kresge, Mark Stopholese, and Adam Carson. The only thing Jade did was the backing vox

maco 07-10-2005 09:16 PM
"The Hanging Garden" which is on the A Fire Inside EP.

"Just Like Heaven" which was performed live for a Cure tribute thingy.
There's gotta be another Cure cover...it seems so odd that they've only done 2...maybe there'll be one on the new album

maco 07-10-2005 09:18 PM

I have an idea http://geocities.com/macoafi/afi/bio.html There. That's the bio I made for AFI back in December. It's as complete as I could manage from memory.

For any album news stuff, everyone should look at Ixnay & Alli's site www.afiseries.com which has all of the lyrics (well, it's a new-ish site so some aren't up yet), the complete song list, a lot of set lists, the complete discography (every edition of every cd/vinyl/etc), and all the up-to-date news.

vnvrymdreglage 07-12-2005 12:23 PM

AFI is a great band. I used to be absolutely obsessed with them in seventh grade and I bought all of their CDs. I'd say either The Art of Drowning or Sing the Sorrow are my favorite albums as far as the general feel of the overall record goes. However, my favorite songs are The Boy Who Destroyed the World, The Last Kiss, Now the World, Reivers' Music, and Bleed Black.

HorrorPunk† 07-12-2005 12:46 PM

I like AFI answer that and stay fashionable is my favorite album.I wanna a mohawk is my favorite song.
i used ot lik em' now i dont .... im a classic rock fan now
uhh....you can like multiple types of music....I mean, I've listened to classic rock, motown, soul, old R&B, disco, funk, and punk (well, the Clash, at least) my whole life. I added modern R&B and rap and hip hop like 7 years ago. I added ska two years ago. I added techno, EBM, hardcore, and industrial last year. I still listen to all of them (though rap, hip hop, and modern r&b are mainly just when my brother and sister choose the music because they aren't the top of my list)

ZaaR 07-13-2005 08:26 PM

Afi are amazing. That pretty much sums them up.

gastery6 07-13-2005 09:09 PM

I'm not a big fan of their newest stuff. I prefer their older stuff.

it433 07-14-2005 12:53 AM
What does everybody think of AFI? personally i think they're best thing thats happened to punk (if you would call them punk now) Davey's vocals mixed with the bands riffs and beats is just musical bliss.. what do you guys think?
i liked "very proud of ya" there new stuff sucks in my opinion.

shane italian 07-14-2005 12:58 AM

I love AFI. Geeze.

Sleeper 07-14-2005 01:47 AM

Im listening to Black Sails, This is my favorite album by them.

h0pe1ess 07-14-2005 03:04 AM
They were okay/good til they sold out.

And by 'sold out' I mean changed their sound to get on MTV, made music videos, signed a major label for money and raised ticket prices for their shows.
Im getting really tired of people putting bands down just because they make smart business decisions!
Would you rather they stay underground so only a handful of people can hear them?
The truth is, despite what people say, this is these peoples JOBS! This is how they make a living and earn money to feed their families. Granted, you can be "in it just for the music" but c'mon! They signed to Dreamworks to 1) Get out to a wider audience, nothing wrong with that, and 2) TO EARN SOME MONEY! People need money to live. If you dont think so, go live under a bridge and eat out of the garbage.
A band gets successful, wants to spread their fan base, wants to make smart decisions, they get labelled as sell outs by geeks who dont want anyone to enjoy a band but themselves. It happened to Green Day after American...., happened to Alkaline Trio, its now happened to AFI
The fact is, AFI are a successful band, and my opinion is, your jealous.

And, fyi, theres only about 2 songs on the whole of the Sing The Sorrow album, their major label debut, that would get onto MTV.

Now go die.

Rant over.

MinorThreat 07-14-2005 04:30 AM

Yeah, i already said that on page 12. I dont like when kids say AFI, or Green Day sold out. its like wtf..... Am i a sell out by quitting my current job to get a better job, i think as long as they stay AFI, and don't venture off into another bands territory then they should be fine. Did you notice Good Charlotte changed their image to replicate AFI......

We all know why though..... AFI is the ****.

*wishes everyone could still see his avatar*

blacklantern 07-14-2005 06:08 AM

if i had a shotgun i would not hesitate to shoot good charlotte...
if i had a rusty screwdriver i would not hesitate to stab good charlotte in the throat...
AFI have not sold out and hey most likely wont either.... They need more money to help create and produce a better album... Dexter Holland (i think thats his name) said that Nitro Records could only offer so much with recording n stuff and he advised them to go onto a major label anyway...recording isn't done for free **** bags it takes months and months to record an album which is months and months of money... Have you ever even heard anyone from AFI say anything about making more money by switching to a bigger label??? Go home to your nirvana records and keep telling yourself that AFI are sold out and while your at it get D.I.C.K.H.E.A.D.. Tattoed on your forehead.

blacksails68 07-14-2005 10:20 AM

Uh...3....they had 3 singles....Silver and Cold was the only one I ever saw on TV, but I know GNG had that MTV2 award and TLSP2 was on tv too I think.
