I would like to take this moment to honour the legendary diSEMBOWELMENT. I just got Transcendence Into The Periphal (the original, not the re-release) and it's absolutely brilliant, some of the best doom I've heard on there.
|
For anyone who wants it, I have the leak of The Butterfly Effect - Imago. Post your email if you want it, and I will send it to you tomorrow morning after I finish getting drunk.
(I'll read and respond to the new posts in the thread at a time when I haven't been drinking.) |
Isn't that already out in stores?
Heads up for Fack... I'm Dead! Besides Blood Duster and the aforementioned shocked, deceased man, does anyone know any other aussie grind bands? Aussie grind = good! Hehehe at the Cryptopsy concert the F..I'm Dead singer goes "isn't it Sunday today? Ye-e-e-eah, this is the place to be! F*CK THE FOOTY!" funny fellow. |
Never been into Blood Duster. Fuck... I'm Dead is great though.
|
What does everyone think of Sunk Loto?Im pretty sure they have new album coming out soon, which could be good.Their last album is fairly good IMO.Im surprised they arent more popular than they are.
|
I've never checked out Blood Duster.
That type of grind that tries to be funny (Anal Cunt etc) doesn't really interest me. |
I missed most of Blood Duster at a festival I went to, but the 2 songs I saw were pretty decent. I should try and pick up an album by them.
|

They have some really great, rocking riffs sometimes. Although they aren't really the most grindcore band around, unlike F...I'm Dead which own arse. |
grinspoon or summin' i heard one of their songs was pretty kewl
|
yeah, they were alright back in about 1998
|
Grinspoon had a few good songs back when I was in year 8 or so.
|
Hey, I think Seascapes Of The Interior are from Australia right? If so...there should me more discussion about this wonderful musicians.
|
Hell City Glamours anyone? I've only heard one song but it's great.

Seascapes are an awesome Post Rock band. bluey got me into them. It's too bad they released so little though. Also, for fans of Seascapes, Adams new project, The Boy Who Spoke Coulds has new some up on their myspace. |
Hell City Glamours anyone? I've only heard one song but it's great.
Do they have an album or something? It'd be cool to actually hear their other songs.

I think they have a couple of EPs. You can download more songs off their myspace. I also want to find out whether or not that track cuts out, or if it's supposed to be like that  |

I think it sounds pretty average. It sounds watered down if you ask me. Reach is probably the best song on there. I met TBE at an instore the other day and Clint Boge said the change in sound was mostly to prevent things getting stale for them. I agree that some bands need to do that, but I don't think TBE have moved in the right direction. |
This is actually my first TBE album,so i cant really compare it to their othert stuff, but i like the album.Aisles Of White and This Year are great IMO.
|
The new Butterfly Effect album is pretty good although as with all their stuff they can sound pretty generic at times. In A Memory is fantastic, as is Aisles of White and A Slow Descent (although there are a few riffs that sound like they were ripped off from Adam Jones).
The new Eskimo Joe album has been the big surprise for me this year, I never liked their sound much before as the stuff I had heard always seemed too mainstream. But their new sound is very cool, the single especially, I may even buy the album, depending on how much cash I have :upset: |
In A Memory is fantastic, as is Aisles of White and A Slow Descent
I don't like those two songs, unfortunately. From what I've seen on forums, the new TBE material seems to have a love/hate relationship with people. It's really a case of not being able to please anybody, and the older fans who dislike the new stuff, will be replaced by newer fans who love it. Anyway, I'm kind of leaning more towards the dislike side of things, which is unfortunate, but I'll always have respect for TBE. Also, has anyone else had problems with the tagging of Track 1 - Imago on Imago. Mine has some automatic thing saying it was written by Peter Fairclough, and it annoys the hell out of me. I can't change it using windows media player tag editor either, so if anyone knows how to get it tagged properly, let me know. |
My girlfriend heard a Butterfly Effect song on the radio. She said they were like a whiny Tool. I laughed, and conceded that she had a point. Of course, I've only heard half an album by them.

It sounds like it's got one of those annoying extended tags.. I'm not sure of the abilities of WMP, but try deleting the id3 tag and then put it back in again manually, that might fix it if not, Winamp or Foobar2000 can do it... |
Is there any Karnivool love in here?
I had a blast with them last week, awesome band. |
Sam, thanks. I'll give that a look at some point.
Jason, she does have a point. Mike (I think that's your name anyway, let me know if it's not), Karnivool get a lot of love from me. Awesome Nu-Metal/Hard Rock band. Probably one of the best live acts in Australia last year as well, along with Cog. They've got some incredibly catchy material, and I find that if I listen to Themata once, within the next couple of days I will have to listen to it again. |
Yeah, I've seen them just once, and they pulled out of a 2nd gig where I would have otherwise seen them.
Despite their light nu-metal sound, they are really quite technical, which doesn't really become apparent until seeing them live. Especially the bassist. I should statr using that quote button more often. |

Yeah, Jon's pretty sweet. I particularly like his use of harmonics and delay on Themata. I met him briefly outside The Zoo when I saw them tour with Cog, but I was drunk and kind of an idiot at the time. I was all like "omg 6 string bassist your awesome lololol" before proceeding to go get more money during a crappy bands set. EDIT: I just realised the Persona EP has no review on sputnik, so I'll probably do it on my upcoming 26 hour bus ride. w00t! for me having something to do. |
