Yeah, I actually kind of cringed. The music was awesome, but the vocals were off...
I actually thought that was a great cover. I don't think it's wrong for a band to have a little fun now and then.
They may have had fun, but I sure didn't. :thumb:

Endless Obsession 06-14-2005 11:41 PM

Is it pronounced like Children of Bottom. Or like Children of Boatom?
Q: How to pronounce Bodom?

A: The lake was originally named by the Swedish ("Bodom-träsk") when they ruled over Finland years ago. The Swedish pronounce Bodom like "Boo-dom" (American pronunciation) and the Finnish way to pronounce it is "bottom" (American pronunciation again). BUT the thing is that since it was named by the Swedish, the somewhat official way to pronounce it here is indeed Boo-dom but some Finns tend to use "bottom" anyway. To hear a robotic pronunciation, go to http://www.mikropuhe.com/demo.asp, write "buudom" (=Boo-dom) or "Bodom" (=bottom) in the empty field and hit "Kuuntele puhe".
Yeah..

Fat people are hard to kidnap 06-15-2005 01:24 AM

i always though it was boh-dum

ah well, who cares, the band is far too awsome to be worring if you're saying their name right, as long as it kicks your ***, ya know?

blue3 06-15-2005 01:30 AM

I say boh-dom

Master Of Nebulah Frost 06-15-2005 03:11 AM

dest. Chaos 06-15-2005 06:13 AM

I think that's the correct way to say it. Boh-dom just doesn't sound right.

NP: Thrashed, Lost and Strungout by CoB

ArcLite 06-15-2005 10:04 AM

I know it probably isn't correct, but I can't help saying it like "bottom" or "boddom". I'm trying to force myself to say it right though.

Darkness 06-15-2005 03:48 PM

Whats a good heavy song to start out with these guys?

flamesofbodom 06-15-2005 03:58 PM

Needled 24/7, Black Widow, Red Light In My Eyes, Bodom After Midnight

Shattered_Future 06-15-2005 04:09 PM
Whats a good heavy song to start out with these guys?
Kissing The Shadows. Arguably their finest moment. (I think anyway)

Bodom Beach Terror, my personal favorite Children of Bodom song.
I agree. Is it just me or is it a love song?
Not sure...i can't understand the lyrics; i just listen to it for that huge solo at the end :p

Thor 06-15-2005 05:17 PM

Who else in here thinks She is Beautiful is a goofy song?

They actually almost got the vocals spot on with the original...both Alexi and Andrew sound like they had a wee bit too much weed.

Well it's just weird hearing Alexi say "na na na na" in Children of Bodom songs. It just seems out of place for that band.

True...

However, it IS a cover, and won't be released on any other albums...

I say live with it. I like it.
Bodom Beach Terror, my personal favorite Children of Bodom song.
I could agree with that possibly. The solo in that songs great

Shadows 06-15-2005 05:48 PM

If it's heavy he's looking for than Sixpounder might be a good one too. It's not quite as challenging as most of their other stuff.

Shattered_Future 06-15-2005 06:01 PM

Heavy could also be You're Better Off Dead.
