i also belive the industrial thing was something axl wanted to try but it was only a phase. i am wondering how many places in north america will allow gnr to play in their town. due to the vancover incented back in 2002. i am pretty sure vancover will not be letting gnr come back. it was really the manger on gm place who was responable. axl planed got delayed he was gona be their in 2 hours. they had 3 hours before thye had to play and the gm decided to pulll the plug

Heh, well as far as a tour goes we'll have to wait and see. Let's just wait for an album before we think about that.

Agreed. Although the guy jumping into the cake is kinda silly, November Rain is easily one of my favourite songs and music videos of all time.

blue3 10-25-2005 09:45 PM

Hah yeah, what a waste of cake. November Rain is a great video.

So, I just heard Kelly Clarkson's cover of SCOM.. I didn't like it much. Anyone else heard it?

guns_n_roses=Slash+Axl 10-25-2005 09:47 PM

that video is good. and i concure that the guy jumping into the cake was silly. i liked the solo. i was watching a doctumentary on top 100 videos. anyways to the point. when they we doing the solo outisde the church thye had a helicpoter swing in at slash so in salshs mind every take was the last take. can't wait for the new videos from the new album by gnr.

Doctor Night 10-26-2005 04:49 AM

Lol, his usertitle says 'Embrass the cold'

//

I like Guns and roses, it has just accured to me there is a thread. My favourite stuff is on the appetite for destruction album. I'm not too sure about the rest. I mean 'Knocking on heavens door' was a poor idea in my opinion and I hate november rain. But the rest is good.

Kyle 10-26-2005 06:49 AM

I don't really like the November Rain video all that much to be honest. My favorite video's of theirs are probably It's so Easy and Don't Cry. But I suppose I don't really like their videos in general. Especially the later ones for 'Since I don't have you' etc

Cipher Hour 10-26-2005 02:11 PM

I wish people would stop covering Guns N' Roses songs. So far every GnR cover I've heard blew chunks.

Sheryl Crow's SCOM = Major sucking.
Kelly Clarkson's SCOM = More major sucking.

Anyway, as far as videos go I think their worst were probably Estranged (although I love the song) and Since I Don't Have You. Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, It's So Easy, Sweet Child O' Mine, Don't Cry, and November Rain are probably their best videos too. Although in the long run I don't think GnR will be remembered much for making killer videos as they will for making killer music so it doesn't really matter much to me that they made a few bad videos (everybody does).

Regardless, November Rain video was great if only for Stephanie Seymour's wedding dress (which I drooled over the first time I saw the video), Axl's hilarious wardrobe (those jackets were hella funny), and Slash soloing outside of a church.
Geffen records had immense success with Volume 1 last year despite protests from Alex Rose about its release. An announcement about the official track list is expected soon.
Right.. Alex Rose.

I hope it's not true.

guns_n_roses=Slash+Axl 10-26-2005 05:10 PM

like wise.

Cipher Hour 10-26-2005 05:16 PM

:eek:

...

God dammit! This pisses me off to no end. Bloody hell, talk about testing one's patience. Another Greatest Hits compilation? Argh, I hope this isn't true...

Cipher Hour 10-26-2005 05:39 PM

As far as I'm concerned about this Greatest Hits Volume 2 bs, there are several possibilities.

1. Since there aren't enough "hits" to constitute 2 albums, it might be a best of (possibly with a new unreleased track thrown in).

2. This is all a big mistake and is completely false.

3. It's Chinese Democracy in disguise.

It occurs to me that this could be CD in disguise (advertising it as something else so as to prevent the album from leaking onto the net). I'm hoping that it's either option 2 or 3 as another "greatest hits" or a "best of" collection is completely redundant and is an obvious cash grab by Geffen to make back some more money they lost on investing in CD.

What do you guys think?

As a side note, Guns N' Roses have done a cover up like this before when the UYI's were announced as Greatest Hits packages.

lightningmetal666 10-26-2005 06:55 PM
Avril Lavigne what?

Anyway, I haven't heard her cover of SCOM. I like her voice though, but I don't have very high hopes :-\
Its on the soundtrack to adam sandler's movie Big Daddy.

It was so lame that I wanted to cry. They ruined one of my absolute fav. songs with lame @$$ acoustic riffs and even worse vocals. I hope all those stupid pop artist choke to death.

That wasn't Avril, that was Sheryl Crow.

I found a link for Kelly Clarkson's cover. http://www.kcemedia.com/GetFile.ashx?FileId=717
Not that anyone would really want to listen to it..

All we can do is hope and wait.

Kyle 10-27-2005 04:15 AM

Bloody hell!!

Well all the huge hits are on the first one, so I can't see how a second edition would be anywhere near as successfull. But then again despite the 'hits' being on there I was still hugely dissapointed with the tracklist.

Fire Away 10-27-2005 04:20 AM

Kelly Clarkson did SCOM? hmm well i bet it wasnt as bad as Avril Lavinge's Knockin on heavens door... was it?

guns_n_roses=Slash+Axl 10-27-2005 08:23 AM

kelly singing was dreadful. her band madethe music sound like it was the music from jepordy

Hollywood Rose 10-27-2005 09:49 AM

I'm sick of everyone trying to impersonate them. And doing covers.

hermz 10-27-2005 02:13 PM

any one have any idea where i can see the videos?

blue3 10-27-2005 03:33 PM

Launch.com has some GNR videos.
Kelly Clarkson did SCOM? hmm well i bet it wasnt as bad as Avril Lavinge's Knockin on heavens door... was it?
Well, Knockin' on Heaven's Door isn't originally by GNR. But yeah, both Avril's and Kelly's covers are pretty bad.

guns_n_roses=Slash+Axl 10-28-2005 05:16 PM

thats why pop artist should stick with in their own music and not go after rock.
