Tear... Amen brother! A toast to George Harrison! *holds up glass*
^
Yeah, I love Harrison's songs. On a slightly different note, does anyone else think Blackbird is really underrated? Quite possibly the best song on The White Album, in my opinion. Although Julia is really good too.
I think Blackbird is a little underrated...before I became crazy about the Beatles I had never heard it or even heard of it. I dont think its the best song on the White Album though. Julia is not my favorite song..at all. It's alright sometimes, but Im not too crazy about it.

what do y'all think of the song Piggies?

Savoy Truffle is better than Piggies.

Broken Arrow 12-02-2004 03:54 PM

I had to bring up Blue Jay Way as a Harrison song. J'adore.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 12-02-2004 05:44 PM

Blue Jay Way isnt my favortie Harrison song but it is kind of mesmerizing and eerie...which is cool.

While my Guitar Gently Weeps is my favourite.:) It includes Clapton so it oughta be good.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 12-02-2004 06:06 PM

While My Guitar Gently weeps is my favorite too. my second favorite by Harrison would be Here Comes the Sun...I think. do you know why Harrison had Clapton play lead for WMGGW? is it just because they were friends..I never really knew why Harrison didnt play it himself.

did you know Harrison wrote Savoy Truffle for Clapton?..I thought that was kinda interesting...

Broken Arrow 12-02-2004 06:08 PM

Yeah Harrison played on the song "Badge" for Cream.:)

I think its partly because they were friends, and partly because he was having trouble writing the solo for it, and partly because they needed another person to play (ringo is playing drums, paul bass, john piano, george acoustic guitar, and clapton lead guitar)

anarchist_cup_cake 12-02-2004 06:50 PM

were clapton and harrison friends after loyla? because I saw him playing at the concert for george thing

BludgeonySteve 12-02-2004 06:52 PM

Yeah, they still got along really well afterwards. Harrison's favorite guitar was given to him by Clapton.

I don't have download software, sadly... does someone want to send me the Jeff Healey cover?

I dont download either.:)

DeusExMachina 12-02-2004 07:18 PM

Aww. Ok, I'll look for the CD. I've got some cash to kill.

Jon 12-03-2004 06:27 AM

Let It Be is an awesome song.

But until I get any albums other than Sgt Peppers, I'll remain by my statement that they're the most overrated band of ever.

It's funny how they remained friends for so long considering they were fighting over the same woman.

Good lord, could someone actually state why they think they're overated and not just some in a say they're overated and leave.

It's on Hell To Pay. Which also has about 8 other top quality songs that you can listen to as well :thumb:

Let It Be has one of the catchiest melodies ever I says.

Its called jumpping the bandwagon, If he knew what he was talking about he would know they are not overrated.

Yeah, Let it Be is probably the only song he's heard by them but he's is going to be steriotypical and base them as a pop group that always sounds the same.

Some guy I go to school with said he didnt like the Beatles, so I asked him why not. He said he'd only heard two songs, Yellow Submarine(which he disliked) and A Hard Day's Night(which he said he liked)....those are the kind of people that bother me. A lot of people dont give the Beatles a chance because they havent heard enough from them. I bet half the people I know would flip out if they heard Helter Skelter and if I told them it was by the Beatles...

I don't think not having enough people would be a problem, they would just record it on a different track and layer it, right?

So? He doesn't like them but I bet he doesn't dislike them either.

Woodstock 12-03-2004 05:21 PM

Helter Skelter has the coolest riffs.

he said he hated them...I told him to listen to more songs and then tell me what he thought. if he still doesnt like them after hearing more songs, then thats just his opinion, and I'll drop it.

towniceman 12-03-2004 06:24 PM

I hate the beatles they suck!!!!!

Why do you think that? But I'm not disagreeing with your intelligently thought out post.
