June 23rd for me, but for some reason tickets haven't gone on sale yet.

Dread_rocker 04-13-2005 01:39 PM

has anyone heard anymore info about the new single and the video for "worth fighting for"??

Deth 04-13-2005 02:07 PM

No, nothing yet.

Thanks for bumping though :).

Got tickets finally!

Quiksilver26 04-13-2005 07:47 PM

:D:D getting tickets to the toronto show tomorrow. probably just gonna cheap out again and get the $10 ones, then just move up once priest plays

on another note, i randomly found this website in my favourites... i think it's about priest being sued because one of the lyrics from one of their songs (i think it was Better By You Better Than Me) was encouraging suicide apparently. it was a while ago though, so anyone else hear about this?

Yeah, it was a crock 'o s*it though. It just was there because of a combination of sounds.

I have really awesome seats for the show though.

Brew 04-14-2005 09:45 AM

I got the original version of Diamonds and Rust yesterday, it sounds alot like the acoustic version Priest have been doing on this tour.

I prefer Priest's cover to the original, but its a good song.

Riva 04-14-2005 05:46 PM

The best Priest cover is Jonny B. Goode.

Waaay better than Chuck Berry's (which is also fun).

ToRidTheDisease 04-14-2005 08:13 PM

Anyone know if Halford used effects on his voice in the chorus of Judas Rising?

JACKROXYOU 04-14-2005 08:29 PM
Anyone know if Halford used effects on his voice in the chorus of Judas Rising?
i dont think he did

but a great tune

ToRidTheDisease 04-14-2005 08:35 PM

Hmm. His voice seems so weird on that, haha. I completely love it though, probably one of, if not my favorite Priest song.

JACKROXYOU 04-14-2005 08:38 PM

i dont know demonizer drums beg to differ

eh, laiho?

ToRidTheDisease 04-14-2005 08:41 PM

Tis' me.

JACKROXYOU 04-14-2005 08:41 PM

i love all of the new album

and the dvd

Riva 04-14-2005 11:03 PM

Hehe, that live show is great, especially since it is essentially free.

I like how at the start, the play the intro on each others guitars.

A Touch Of Evil is a great song on that particular set.

Though that cover is awesome too, I far prefer The Green Manalishi.

The green manalishi is a cover?

Rrrrrrr 04-15-2005 03:46 AM

Yep, originally by Fleetwood Mac I believe. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

Josh 04-15-2005 03:47 AM

what was the latest priest album called? i might buy it.

Rrrrrrr 04-15-2005 04:45 AM

Angel of Retribution, it's right there in the first post.

Kronos 04-15-2005 07:01 AM
Try getting Ram It Down. Quite the awesome album. Hell Bent For Leather and Turbo are also excellent.
Turbo? Excellent? You must be a Septic Tank to like that heap of poo-centred lameness. And I am a huge Priest fan. Huge. That album vies with Point of Entry as the worst of all. And British Steel is way overrated IMO.

Kronos 04-15-2005 07:08 AM
Tony Martin's stuff is prety good too.

Has anyone ever seen this site? There's some pretty interesting stuff on it. I never knew that they've never performed The Hellion live.

How many of you remember Dave Holland? He was a pretty good drummer, for someone who didn't do double bass. Not that it matters now he's rotting in jail, the bastard.
Yeah, I do. Awful IMO. They always had a problem with drummers, John Hinch played on Rocka Rolla I think, then Alan Moore did Sad Wings then they had Les Binks and Simon Phillips (yes, that Simon Phillips) and finally Mr. "would you like to see my rabbits" Holland. I like to think he lasted so long with them cos he was quiet and didn't have an ego cos he realised he was f***ing lucky to be there. Or he was cheap. Or both. :naughty:

Kronos 04-15-2005 07:11 AM
i've never heard any ripper songs, but i think i'll tend to avoid...like i avoid Dio fronting sabbath.
Dio rocks man. Rocks.

Kronos 04-15-2005 07:13 AM
Listening to Unleashed in the East on Vynil and wondered if it was overdubbed much cause it sounds an amazing quality live recording. I expect someone like Brum will know this. Being the tr00 Priest fan he is.
Er, yes it was. So much so that some dubbed it "Unleashed In The Studio"!

Deth 04-15-2005 07:40 AM

That's basically what it is though. An awesome album though.

Kronos 04-15-2005 07:43 AM

Agreed.

Deth 04-15-2005 07:43 AM

I mean the live version of Tyrant? Are you kidding me? Awesome.

My 5 favourites are

Hellbent For Leather
Screaming For Vengeance
Sad Wings Of Destiny

Dread_rocker 04-15-2005 09:27 AM

Mine are:

Screaming For Vengeance
Painkiller
Hell Bent For Leather
Stained Class
Angel Of Retribution

Six Foot Revolver 04-15-2005 09:39 AM

I only have three albums so I will just put them in :upset:

Sad wings of destiny
British steel
Angel of retribution

Steerpike 04-15-2005 09:40 AM

You can't possbily go wrong with Painkiller. I mean, look at the title track. They made a song about a metallic superhero saving the world from Armageddon and they made it work.
