has anyone seen the album cover of "The System has Failed"? I think it is pretty good and it is typical Megadeth showing Vic on it

DimebagDarrell 08-24-2004 09:31 AM

yes ive seen it :) its very political i hope the album even going to be that way

GraveRobbersINC 08-24-2004 09:35 AM

I think it just looks cool, politics aside.

Reidie86 08-27-2004 05:52 AM

DisposableHeroes 08-27-2004 07:37 AM

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 08-27-2004 10:56 AM

Who do you think Megadeths best drummer was.. I personally think Gars Samuelson was.(R.I.P.)

Esp Griffyn 08-27-2004 11:16 AM

I just heard "Kick the Chair"

its ace!

RiceMonster 08-27-2004 11:26 AM

To be honest I didn't think Kick the chair was all that good, It sertanly isn't a bad song, but I don't find myself ever wanting to listen to it.
Who do you think Megadeths best drummer was.. I personally think Gars Samuelson was.(R.I.P.)
here is my order of who was my favourite out of the drummers:

Nick Menza (he lasted the longest, and his work on Rust In Peace is top-notch and better than any other 'Deth album)

Jimmy Degrasso (close 2nd, but watching the Rude Awakening DVD made him seem like first cause he played all the songs sooooo very well)

Gar Samuelson (He is amazing too, Maybe he would have been higher if I seen a DVD or some videos of him playing or if he played in Megadeth longer)

Check Behler (cant say he was great, I didnt think he fit the band at all)

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 08-28-2004 01:34 PM

I liked Gars sort of jazz feel in the first two albums. But anyway I've been meaning to pick up rude awakening. Is it worth buying?

Five Magics 08-28-2004 01:45 PM

Oh ya. It's a definite buy. The musicianship is perfect. Jimmy Degrasso is amazing in it, the way he played all of Gars' songs were perfect and he added his own touch in it which were: The Mechanix, Wake Up Dead, Peace Sells, & Devil's Island. The only little flaw and I do me little is Mustaine's voice live. His voice has obviously changed throughout the years (as would anyones) and it was harder for him to sing the older songs ( i think anyway). But, it is worth buying no doubt!!!

Mega_Dave 08-28-2004 02:51 PM

Yes, definetly buy the RA DVD, it's amazing and it made me appreciate Megadeth so much more, I've watched that DVD hundreds of times, best 30 bucks I've ever spent in my entire life :smoke: .

Does anyone know what the new album will sound like? Or even when it's coming to the UK?

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 08-28-2004 03:05 PM

haha nice I shall go search for it once I get enough money.

Kingofdudes 08-28-2004 03:07 PM
Does anyone know what the new album will sound like? Or even when it's coming to the UK?
wales'llqualifyforworldcup2006 08-28-2004 03:09 PM

is it on the official website? if so I'll check it out godspeedingly

wales'llqualifyforworldcup2006 08-28-2004 03:14 PM

just heard Die Dead Enough, and souns like something off Countdown to Extinction, at least it's better than Metallica's new album

Five Magics 08-28-2004 03:18 PM

I hope everyone doesn't start comparing "The System Has Failed" to "St.Anger"

wales'llqualifyforworldcup2006 08-28-2004 03:24 PM

there is no comparison to compare with anyway, TSHF is better than St Anger. Period

Kingofdudes 08-28-2004 03:26 PM
there is no comparison to compare with anyway, TSHF is better than St Anger. Period
wow thanks for granting his request.

Five Magics 08-28-2004 03:28 PM

That's fine if u think that, but the Megadeth/Metallica debate has been done to death, and it doesnt solve anything. Let's just simply enjoy the great band that is Megadeth! and only talk about Megadeth in this thread.

I can't read about Metallica or Megadeth on the forums without hearing people arguing over who is better.

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 08-28-2004 04:27 PM

I actually enjoyed that thread becasue people actually thought that the musicians in Metallica are better than Megadeth.

METAL_HEAD_MIKE 08-28-2004 04:30 PM

^^Year well Dave is a ****en lord!

paco999 08-28-2004 08:11 PM

megadeth has alot of good songs

in my opinion these are the best

holy wars
symphony of destruction
architecture of aggression
5 magics
hangar 18
return to the hangar
ashes in ur mouth
set the world on fire
my darkest hour
peace sells
devil's island
reckoning day
trust
recepie for hate even though the talking part is sort of annoying
and i think into the lungs of hell is pretty good

but i also like metallica but they blew it with st anger
o well

Dreth 08-28-2004 08:30 PM

Rust in Peace is my favorite album, best line-up, heaviest/fastest music of theirs is in there also, and the beautiful Tornado of Souls is just breath-taking, being such a big fan of theirs I gave up on them back with the stupid Greatest Hits crap after the disbandment, so I wasn't aware they were alive until I read this thread, it's sad all the crap Megadeth went through over the years but at least they didn't mess up as badly as Metallica, I'm gonna buy this record no matter what, I bought Risk and learned to like it (not love it) so this can't be so hard, after World Needs A Hero, this should kick ***.

Arise 08-29-2004 04:22 AM
Does anyone know what the new album will sound like? Or even when it's coming to the UK?
I've already got the entire album (it leaked about a month ago).

Its pretty **** good actually. Not as good as any of their thrash albums, but def. the best they've released since RIP. ****, it even has some thrash songs on it.

It will be released internationally on September 14
