Grateful Undead starring Jerry 12-22-2004 10:52 PM
Shady Grove?
My bad

and MMW rock.

Jam2Me 12-23-2004 01:33 PM

Let's see today I bought Xmas presents for myself:
moe. - No Doy
Blues Traveler - Travelers & Thieves
Warren Zevon - Greatest Hits

I got a couple other Cds which I'm listening to now so I'll post in a couple days if I like the Cds.

And Badmoon I need your help, I was in the jam band section and I'm kinda new to Leftover Salmon and North Mississippi Allstars so which ones would you suggest by them?

Andrew Womble 12-23-2004 01:40 PM

i'd like to take this opportunity to get some jam/style council heads to answer my "Style Council" thread in the bass forums.

thanks.

p.s. - i read that The Jam supported the Conservative Party but the video for "Going Underground" has pictures of Margaret Thatcher and her Cabinet, followed by a nuclear explosion...talk about showing your support for a political party!

could someone please clear this up for me?

cheerz

Badmoon 12-23-2004 06:12 PM

^Well, that's a first.

Ep, have you heard that Tony Rice and Peter Rowan are playing at the Old Town School of Music in Evanston (I believe). During March 20th, costs $25.

Well, I am also slightly new to North Mississippi Allstars, but I have heard Shake Hands With Shorty and was very impressed. As far as Leftover Salmon goes, they are 100 times better live than recorded. So, it'd be best if you could find a live album, but the next best thing would be the album Euphoria.

And by the way, have each one of the album you just listed, and they are each fabulous. Nice picks. :thumb:

hey, are you from philly or around the area?

ShineOnYouCrazyDiamond 12-25-2004 09:27 AM

I just got a copy of the phish show from 7/25/92 in stowe, VT where santana and his band come out for YEM and funky bitch. It has to have some of the greatest jams I have ever heard in my life. Santana and Trey go back and forth as if it's a guitar battle. SO incredible. Has anyone else heard this show?

Kingadamx 12-25-2004 09:31 AM
hey, are you from philly or around the area?
I'm from South Jersey, about a half an hour from Atlantic City. So I live about 45 min away from Philly.

Cool. I'm from around there too. Are you going to the disco biscuits at the factory on the 29th and 30th?

Kingadamx 12-25-2004 09:48 AM

^Possibly, I didn't buy tickets yet though.

Jam2Me 12-28-2004 03:50 PM

I picked up Jack Johnson - On and On

I know some either hate him or like him but I like him...I think he has a cool sound and it's easy to mellow out with his music while enjoying it/not sleeping.

I also got Blind Melon - s/t it's a great CD I'm really enjoying it.

Tomorrow night I'll be seeing Assembly of Dust featuring Reid Genauer they're a jam band, not too too popular but maybe a couple of you have heard of them.
EDIT: I see they've jammed with Phil and Friends and other big names from their website so they must be pretty decent.

Badmoon 12-28-2004 03:56 PM

Great picks :thumb:

I like each. :)

jpj 12-28-2004 09:56 PM

 Mule is coming to Morgantown! Now all I have to do is talk my dad into it......

....... :( there's no hope

If anyone knows of any good concerts in the Pittsburgh area please tell me, I really don't want to have to wait until all the summer concerts.

Kingadamx 12-29-2004 09:11 AM

At the last Gov't Mule show in Philadelphia my friend got Warren Haynes' guitar pick. I thought it was pretty cool.

EDIT: since joshmay got banned who is going to mod the other music forum. I think badmoon should be mod of this forum.

Andrew Womble 12-29-2004 09:49 AM

could someone stop my "Read my Style Council thread" crusade by at least telling me the name of their bassist.*

and forgive me...are all these bands you are all talking about someone linked to either Paul Wellar, The Jam or other related projects?

*p.s. he performed with them at the Live Aid concert.

Andrew Womble 12-29-2004 09:51 AM
