Hammerfall has allways seemed kinda gay. Personally, I can't strand that band.

Primal Fear
Symphforce
Firewind

I like what I've heard of Primal Fear (and they're playing a mini-festival here in England in September), but that's not much. Haven't heard the other two.

Primal Fear sound alright, i think they might be playing bloodstock but im not 100% sure

I'm pretty sure they're one of the three "well-known" bands, along with Sonata Arctica and Children of Bodom.

yeh there defiantly playing bloodstock :thumb: so are panic cell which i was abit supried about.

I checked out some Human Fortress the other day, its quite good - a bit different to the rest...a bit darker like what was said earlier in the thread.

I wish I was going to Bloodstock, my dad works with the singer of Fourwaykill :cool:

I got COB's cd 'Something Wild' the other day, its not amazing but I still like it.

something wild is more of a death metal sounding album, easily the worst of their 4...not that i dislike it, but it dosent show off their sound as well as the other three do.

Anyways, I've been on a bit of a Sonata Artica kick recently, but I don't have any of there albums. Which one would you folks say is there best?

I haven't heard to much of Primal Fear (only their first and last), but from what i have, i have some really mixed feelings. I HATE Schepper's voice. He is NOT Halford, and his works with Gamma Ray make those albums unlistenable for me. (Thank god he was given the boot).

Ok. That out of the way, the music sounds like some really generic german speed/power. But they are NOT Judas Priest. On the other hand, it's german speed/power, and nobody can hate that. :D. Yeah, Pretty much second rate generic stuff, in my opinion. Lets all listen to the two aforementioned bands instead.

NP: W.A.S.P. - King Of Sodom And Gomorrah (Or listen to WASP. Can'

i do agree about Schepper's voice, he really does try and sing like Halford and cant compete. The music is preety cool, but they are defiently a medium level group at best :)

Sonata Artica...id have to go with "silence" is my favourite of theirs. its more straitforward and overall musically impressive than "wintersheart guild" and "eleptica", which i still adore the other two albums as well :)

You got Ecliptica then?

Silence does have my favourite song by them (Wolf & Raven), but I just prefer Ecliptica overall.
