i think peste noire is better from the french scene

the only french bm band ive listened to lots is Deathspell Omega. just got a load of LLN material, Blut Aus Nord, Peste Noire etc though

Death Spell is pretty cool. I like Peste Noire and Alcest a lot too.

New Blut Aus Nord is way rawer than their last album but it's pretty good.

Only listened to it like once though.

Withering Illusions has the song Memories, which is one of their best songs, but Bleak (I think you have that one though) is my favorite.

I would recommend any of their releases except [i]To Lay Like Old Ashes[/i]. If you have Withering Illusions and Bleak, the only other thing to get is their side of the split with Lyrinx imo.

so thoughts on new drudkh?

i havent had a full listen yet, but from the random plays ive had so far im assuming it's a slightly cleaner, little bit more watered down version of microcosmos. not necessarily a bad thing, but not all that amazing either.

it's an emo album, lol. almost no blast beats nor tremolo. not black metal at all. but it's fucking great. much better than anything they've ever done.

at least that's my opinion.

I don't see how you can say this is emo. It's no less black metal than any DSBM album I've heard.

The guitars are gorgeous though.

Yeah, I think this is the weakest Drudkh album so far. It's still pretty good, though.
