I think I understand what your saying, but most people in this thread realise that Metallica aren't the only band on the planet.

Bazarov 12-25-2005 11:23 AM

Is anyone else's local radio station playing all day Metallica for X-mas? Last year mine did, and I turned on the radio today, and they played 3 Metallica songs in a row, so I guess they're doing again this year.

PepsiMetal 12-25-2005 01:43 PM
It's not that I don't like the band
You've said several times already "As much as I can't stand metallica, ..."

Lol, yea, I don't think you like them. Even I who doesn't like slayer or megadeth much never go into their threads just to bitch at whatever happened during their careers.

My radio stations are gay. They usually wont play metallica at all. Maybe only like load/reload songs and that's about it. Would be nice if they played kea through st. anger every song.

Aw3someman 12-25-2005 01:52 PM

We have a Metal Christmas here too. It's all metal all day. Mostly Metallica, CoB, Opeth (just one so far), and Megadeth(couldn't believe it when Symphony of Destruction came on)

No. We get nothing like that here.

He'll never get over it. He has all the right in the world to be angry.
I think he got over it already, i think last year give an interview to headbangers ball and said that he forgive Metallica, or something like that.

This was weeks after dimebag died.

Jev 12-25-2005 03:53 PM

Dave said he didn't want to argue with anyone anymore because of Dime's death.

I know he said it, but he'll probably eventually start again, trust me...Dave's like that

I still listen go them occasionally, and Battery is a fun finger-workout. I'm not as much into them as I was, however.

Jev 12-25-2005 05:22 PM

Dude just stop now. We don't need any arguments.

vashts80 12-25-2005 05:30 PM

ZOMGZ STOP LOLZ

There's a difference between "arguing" and "a discussion." I'm having a discussion. People who are like "zomgz stop arguging!!!!" are the ones who are actually arguing.

Jev 12-25-2005 05:45 PM

Ugh, I'm not even going to bother.

vashts80 12-25-2005 07:42 PM

Why aren't you going to "bother"? Because I like to have discussions on very valid topics, providing facts to go with what I'm discussing?

PepsiMetal 12-25-2005 09:05 PM

No, he probably doesn't want to bother because you think you know everything, and everyone else here is wrong. Basically if 500 million people disagreed with you, you would still say you are right and they're wrong. Especially on music taste which is subjective and not factual.
I don't think Kirk actually ever be mean to anyone. I mean listen and take a look at the guy.
Lol yeah, the 'feel the love' version of Kirk rocks, seeing him earlier when he was like drunk or high (eg Cliff em All) he was still nice, just a tad rude at times... eg on tour "Wake up Kirk..." (James and Lars) "Sons of bitches..." (Kirk)

ThrashMaster27 12-26-2005 02:43 AM

Kirk stays in the background. He tries to be the good guy in everything, whilst not getting his point across at all.

Anyway, who said Lars was a songwriter? he's not a songwriter at all, he 'composes' the songs with James. Just another ego boost of having his name in the writing credits.

superdigg 12-26-2005 04:16 AM
I know he said it, but he'll probably eventually start again, trust me...Dave's like that
yeah okay i guess you're the expert.

IMO you're right, but watch your authoritative tone there, son.

true.

he helps write the songs but that doesent declare him as a songwriter

wrong.

on interviews the interviewer always start the convo about that and you can tell hes fed up with talking about it.

he said he forgives them and that Kirk is a great guitarist. rewind back 20 years and he says kirk is horrible guitarist and that they let him do the solos to long.

Well that's good then, if he sticks with it, I must admit if I were him I'd be sick of all the Metallica questions after such a long time.

And about Lars and the songwriting thing, watch the Making of the Black Album.

Heh, listen to the SKOM commentary. It says Kirk's only ever been angry once.
Heh when I first heard that, the thrashiest thing I had ever heard was the stuff of Reload. I sat there and was like "wow". Obviously I know now that KEA isn't all that thrashy but still.
It's weird because of Hetfield's voice. I can now Safely say however, that I feel 'Ride The Lightening' is 'Tallica's best album.

everything about it is good. There isn't a song on there that isn't great.

Jev 12-26-2005 12:56 PM

I don't really like Escape, but the rest of the album certainly makes up for it.

PepsiMetal 12-26-2005 01:28 PM

I love escape. Alot actually.
