I would check out the dw 7000 pedal. It is extremely sturdy and also it is quite smooth. I'm not sure of the price but if you're willing to put out a little bit of cash then it will be worth it trust me.

:amaze: 04-02-2006 10:54 PM

i'm not looking to get a great pedal. i jus need a replacement for the piece of **** that broke. my set it crappy, so it would be pointless to get a really nice pedal, imo.

rockindrummer 04-02-2006 10:55 PM

Fair enough, it isn't a really nice pedal but it is definitly good at the price you pay for it. If not then I would go with what epi said.

The DW 7000 is $100 on massmusic.

Maggot Dream 04-02-2006 11:30 PM

The IC Jrs are good pedals, they're like $189 on massmusic but you could try to get one off eBay. I have one, I wish I had something more high end, but since you're just looking for a replacement pedal, it should work fine for you.

Singles are only 60.

Cocaberry 04-02-2006 11:56 PM

Yeah. The real IC singles are even cheaper than $189.

Dude faith, wicked idea.

Before for some reason the thought of backing vocals to a drumsolo went completely over my head.
Dude faith, wicked idea.

Plan B. 04-03-2006 12:54 AM

Haha yeah I hear ya.

I always have to try and make do with what I have, and I usually have noooothing.

Motleyguy 04-03-2006 12:58 AM

I enjoy bacon, but yellow peppers, while delicious on their own, take up far too much flavour room if combined in a dish, such as a hashbrown style dish, like the one I just ate

Cocaberry 04-03-2006 01:06 AM

Hey with a Pro M Standard there is a tom mount on the bass drum but it is non protruding. It is held by 4 screws though so if I were to take that off do I have a virgin bass drum or no? There is still finish under the tom mount right?

440561 04-03-2006 01:16 AM

there might not be. And besides they finish around it might get wrecked when you take it off. Around the screws it may crack if its a wrap.

Cocaberry 04-03-2006 02:07 AM

Damn, that Standard setup has the sizes I want but I want to mount the rack toms on cymbal stands and have a virgin bass drum. I might have to start thinking about other setups/sizes.

Jezen 04-03-2006 02:52 AM

I played a gig with my jazz quartet yesterday. Fun stuff.

Josiah 04-03-2006 03:02 AM

virgin/non virgin kicks are more about having the looks of the mounts more then anything else...

Cocaberry 04-03-2006 03:58 AM

I know. The mounts look kinda out of place and stupid if they aren't used. And people say the bass drum sounds better without toms on it so I wanted to try that.

Aaron 04-03-2006 07:43 AM

there is abit of a feel difference. not much really in the scheme of things though.

Cocaberry 04-03-2006 08:49 AM

So nobody's ever tried to take the tom mount off a Mapex Pro M bass drum? Nobody has first hand experience with this?

Drum Phil 04-03-2006 09:40 AM

My pedals been reshipped today. I hope they got it right this time. Or i'll kill them.

Berk 04-03-2006 10:52 AM

Did you get to keep the old pedal? Sell it!!! or more foot percussion.:thumb:

Drum Phil 04-03-2006 10:54 AM
So nobody's ever tried to take the tom mount off a Mapex Pro M bass drum? Nobody has first hand experience with this?
I took my Mount off, but the mount is protruding in mine (I have an older model) the finish was there, so don't worry about it.

Epiphender 04-03-2006 03:32 PM

Regarding the Pro M enquiry:

I know quite a lot about these kits now as I was considering getting one for several months, and this question came up for me as well. I came across some photos that show it's really not that bad at all. Take a look

It's just those two little holes you see on top. So, assuming none of the lacquer under the mount is damaged/gets damaged while removing the mount, I think you'll be quite content.

SkaRabbit 04-03-2006 03:36 PM
Which lang cymbal?
