Yeah my town is super small. I live in a small town on the beach in southern mississippi. Only bad thing is you have to go to the other bigger towns or cities to find something cool to do lol. I live about an hour away from New Orleans though.. which can be fun at times.

Futuro 07-13-2006 09:06 PM

Im fairly addicted to the online MGS3.

Janeway 07-13-2006 09:06 PM

Go to Jersey, then.

It's only like 40 minutes or so away NYC or something.

I'm just going for a standard SUNY education. =/
People who go to private schools don't really do any better than those who go to state colleges, so I can save $25,000 and have my debts payed off in a reasonable amount of time.

Sunshine 07-13-2006 09:14 PM

Eh, I'm not going to a private college to do better or whatever.

But Julliard is the top acting school in America, and I do want to be an actress, so it seems like the smartest way to go.

And I'm a spoiled little only-child brat. I won't have any college loans or debts, my parents already saved up for all that.

Maggot Dream 07-13-2006 09:18 PM

I'd probably need a scholarship if I was to go to NYU or Columbia, but I'll take out loans if I have to. It's absolutely worth it, in my opinion.

Janeway 07-13-2006 10:57 PM

I gave my cat two treats because I felt bad for taking her food dish away.

The stupid thing ate them both at the same time. Like...with in a second of each other, choked on them, ran to the closest carpeted area, and then barfed. =/

Sunshine 07-13-2006 11:43 PM

Ew.

My cat's slowly learning to puke outside. Which is awesome, because usually he likes being around people when he has to puke so he either pukes in your room or outside of your door.

He also brings me dead birds and mice. They're icky.

Janeway 07-13-2006 11:48 PM

Ugh. I'd strangle mine if she barfed in my room.

Mine is so far removed from nature that when she was a foot away from an innocent, helpless, delicious looking baby bunny, she looked at it a minute before turning around and running into the garage. The closest she gets to hunting is batting at the fishies in our screen saver, or very rarely barking at the birds outside the window. =/
Inside pets rule.

Sunshine 07-13-2006 11:50 PM

Haha, well, my cat just figured out how to catch mice and birds. He doesn't know what to do with them afterwards...he has no idea that he's supposed to EAT them.

He gets all pissy when they die, too. Because they're no fun once they're dead.

Hahaha..he has yet to catch the baby bunny that lives in our backyard. He tries, but he just can't do it. Nor can he catch one of the many quail babies back there..just those little brown birds.

Janeway 07-13-2006 11:57 PM

Hah. That's cute.

My grandmothers cats never eat the animals they kill, either. They maul them until they're dead, and then leave them for the dog to eat, who promptly gets sick afterwards.

Sunshine 07-14-2006 12:40 AM

Ew. I don't know what my dog would've done if he was still alive and the cat was catching animals.

My cat has a girlfriend, though, and I think that if he kills something and leaves it outside she eats it.

She's really needy though. Every single night she's at the door meowing unitl we let our cat out, but she won't even let us pet her or anything.

Corkofski 07-14-2006 04:56 AM

f‪uck

Pleaseme 07-14-2006 06:33 AM

Totally man.

Also cats suck, they don't like it when you look at 'em funny.

trysthedrummer 07-14-2006 08:01 AM

Na, cats are nice. Dogs are nice.

Josiah 07-14-2006 08:39 AM

My dog rules. He catches large animals and brings them to me.

Vannaroth 07-14-2006 08:45 AM

My dogs in an urn on my mantlepiece
Ah I missed that.. that is pretty cool! I always loved the feeling of walkin outta the shops with new gear. The drive home always seemed so long too..
Quinto 07-14-2006 09:14 AM

i just came back from cornell late last night, and i have to say that staying there for 5 days has made me decide im going there, but im only a freshman, so its 4 years till i have to worry about that.

fishbulb 07-14-2006 09:58 AM
Anybody here play Day of Defeat: Source? I just got it, wondering who else has it.
You bought it after you played it on the free weekend, right? You can actually copy the .gcf (it holds ALL of the information for the game) and make a source mod with the same name as it and you can play with people online. I forgot exactly how to do it, but you can't see any of the servers, but if you have the IP addresses you can manually connect to servers.

And no i don't have it.

Blank 07-14-2006 10:45 AM

Who remembers me?

Heh, I missed the free weekend. I started downloading it Sunday night in the hopes that I'd get a chance to play it, but it wasn't done until well after the deadline.

fishbulb 07-14-2006 11:17 AM

Anybody remember that we have the rep system after all of the downtimes?

Blank 07-14-2006 11:21 AM

They finally brought it back?
'Bout time.

fishbulb 07-14-2006 11:37 AM

fu‪ck (testing Vannaroth's solution)

Anybody know of a good, cheap practice pad? I saw remo's pad for $10. Worth it?

Janeway 07-14-2006 11:42 AM

My mother brought back gas station fish fry for lunch.

Why the hell do they always leave the skin on? It's pointless.
It isn't even tasty like chicken skin is, it's just gross.

Don't get that one if you need something quiet. It's a decent pad, you can do rimshots and everything, but it's quite loud. I'd recommend something like the Vic Firth Double Sided pad, like this.

I know someone who got into Cornell, but the rest of his family likes having a house and eating, so hes going to Penn State instead.

Quinto 07-14-2006 12:46 PM

lol^, im hoping to go there someday, but i dont know if there are any magic scholarships that could get me there, id have to get either first of second in states in my junior and senior year, and have frigging 95's in everything, and even then idk.

tuition is 45k a year

Janeway 07-14-2006 12:49 PM

I giggle when kids talk about how they're absolutely going to these amazing colleges.

And Ann Coulter is my hero.

Edit: JESUS.
My sister is leaving for Europe today. The need to be at the school by 5, and it's already 4. She waited to pack until last night, and she only packed half of her crap. She's sitting around stalling like hell, and she's driving me insane. She keeps throwing tantrums and talking to my mom like she's a retard.

I swear to god if my kids treat me like that, I'm kicking them in the teeth.

I saw the two sided one of that, but don't you think the 1-sided would be fine? Are both sides different?

Maggot Dream 07-14-2006 01:19 PM

Yeah, one side is louder and has less rebound, making you work harder. I personally don't really think it's necessary for most people, so I'd think the single-sided is fine.
And Ann Coulter is my hero.
Ugh.

fishbulb 07-14-2006 01:21 PM

Exactly what i thought.

Maggot Dream 07-14-2006 01:22 PM

...I linked to the wrong thing, didn't I? I'm stupid.

Janeway 07-14-2006 01:22 PM

The Vic Firth ones are more durable than the Remo.
The remo have this synthetic head stuff over foam, and over time it'll rip.
VF is just a thick rubber pad glued to a wooden base.

Of course, you could just find an old piece of wood and nail a mouse pad to it.

A mousepad? I'd think a mousepad would be too soft and squishy. Then again it depends on what kind of mousepad.

Drum Phil 07-14-2006 03:06 PM

Mine has a hard cover and works well.

fishbulb 07-14-2006 03:10 PM

Well, mine is a little too soft.
